July 1, 200916 yr Dan,As ever many thanks!!I will forward you my UK Airports (Cycle 0907) once checked ... busy until this weekend!BestSteve Steve Bell "Wise men talk because they have something to say. Fools talk because they have to say something." - Plato (latterly attributed to Saul Bellow) The most useful tool on the AVSIM Fora ... 'Mark forum as read'
July 1, 200916 yr Forgive me but I am a bit of a nOOb compared to you guys. What can I do with these files? Are these adjusted SIDs and STARS for the airports mentioned above? (I see why pilots need to learn so much before they can actualy fly) :(Tiemen,
July 1, 200916 yr Author Steve! Good to hear from you... looking forward to your UK update. Thanks in advance.Tiemen: My US collection replaces the sidstar files you download from Navigraph (you still need their current navdata). I create these "by hand" using FAA NACO data, and the same SIDS/STARS and IAPs are available but I add the following:SIDS: Departures include NOATC option that provide a route from the departing runway to the departure fix and/or transitions as charted. Locations with vectors-only departures such as KORD have all commonly filed fixes available as NOATC options.STARS: Arrivals are provided "as published," which usually required vectors to the approach and as enumerated options to that provide routing from the "arrival gate" fix to the ILS for all landing runways (in some cases all runways). All custom routing is based on actual traffic tracks, input from users and virtual airlines and my own experience as an instrument rated pilot for over 30 years. Each location has a complete text header that describes the procedures for that airport. Additional information is in an enclosed readme file in the zip. When the AVISM library was operating, I saw an average of about 600 downloads per month. Any errors are fixed but these have been few and far between. Hope you enjoy them. Dan Downs KCRP
July 1, 200916 yr Hi Dan:Many thanks. Top job as ever....Paul Is there a way to auto ignore trolls, flamers and any post with a +1 in it here?
July 2, 200916 yr Dan,This file shows as text file instead of a zip file (which it apparently is). If people try to oen it as a text file, they will get giberish.Bob

July 3, 200916 yr How change file extension from TXT to ZIP? I'm using XP PROMukeshHave a look in Folder Options first and untick 'Hide extensions for known types' - apply. Then find the filename.txt and click on it once use the cursor keys to move to the end, backspace out the txt and type zip. It'll proabably moan lol but at least you'll have the right extension then.John Ellison

July 4, 200916 yr Any complaints if I replace KGEG with KCRP in a future cycle?Replace???? Aren't they in different states? Why not just add KCRP or are you limited to so many airports?John Ellison
July 4, 200916 yr Author John, I could but it takes a week of pretty constant effort to update the 68 I already have... just wondering if anyone ever even uses KGEG. Dan Downs KCRP
July 5, 200916 yr Fair enough Dan :( Any that you add/remove is fine with me as you produce and share them as a HUGE favour to the community here.I realise the need to check that none have altered every 'other' cycle and that does take time even if they haven't. No objections from me anyway and why not have your 'local' one in there - they are for your own use at the end of the day. Can't thank you enough really and I believe that comes from all of us.John Ellison
