  1. Bart,I just went to the Navdata site and dowloaded the latest AIRAC (0406) and got the file just fine. It installed fine also. Have you tried to download it again? Perhaps your connection with the site was interrupted. If that doesn't help, try re-installing WinRar to make sure that it is working properly.Best of luck!ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ASUS A7N8X DeluxeAntec TruePower 480 PS1.0 gig DDR PC2700ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 running Omega DriverSB Audigy 2WD 60 gig HDDWD 40 gig HDDCH Products USB YokeCH Products USB PedalsWindows XP Prohttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

  3. Hey all, I was wondering if anyone was having problems downloading the Cruise Performanc document on the PMDG site? I have tried off and on all day with no sucess. I 'reported' it, but I know that PMDG probably gets swamped with dozens of emails a day. I have been able to get all of the other documents, and so far, I have been very happy. Thanks to PMDG for a great product, plus all of the extras and support that come with it.ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ASUS A7N8X DeluxeAntec TruePower 480 PS1.0 gig DDR PC2700ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 running Omega DriverSB Audigy 2WD 60 gig HDDWD 40 gig HDDCH Products USB YokeCH Products USB PedalsWindows XP Prohttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
  4. Great news!!As luck and fate would have it though, I'm not anywhere near my computer this weekend :( I had a long weekend so I left FE school at Little Rock AFB, drove back to Wichita to see the wife :) and PMDG releases the 800/900's... Oh well, at least she won't be mad cause I spent most of the weekend on the computer!!:-wink2My other dilemma is that I have my real-world flight engineer checkride this coming Friday and the new birds are out too... I'll have to sacrifice not flying them too much so I can stay focused on the bird I'll be flying on in real life over the birds I fly in my spare time!!!Life is grandChuckAthlon XP 2800+ASUS A7N8X DeluxeAntec TruePower 480 PS1.0 gig DDR PC2700ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 running Omega DriverSB Audigy 2WD 60 gig HDDWD 40 gig HDDCH Products USB YokeCH Products USB PedalsWindows XP Prohttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

  10. It was probably a newly installed engine and there was some preservative fluids still in the plumbing that was being burned off. I've seen this before with CFM-56's on KC-135R's, but never quite that intense. 13. Damian and Jim, I think I have it by the horns now. I started up AS2004 after getting FS set up. I clicked on download, current wx, then I refreshed. I had Online updates checked and VATSIM updates not checked. AS2004 then brought up the current weather off of the HiFi servers, great!! Now I just need to work through the VATSIM updates. I made a flight plan, imported it into AS2004 with online updates not checked but VATSIM checked. The Nav Log shows the current VATSIM weather, but AS2004 is still reporting the current real world weather. So then I refreshed and it was the same. Then I went and checked both Online updates and VATSIM and clicked refresh. AS2004 locked up on me... Oh well, at least I'm getting somewhere with it now!! Thanks guys!ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ASUS A7N8X DeluxeAntec TruePower 480 PS1.0 gig DDR PC2700ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 running Omega DriverSB Audigy 2WD 60 gig HDDWD 40 gig HDDCH Products USB YokeCH Products USB PedalsWindows XP Prohttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
  14. Jim, I did some checking and when the program is installed, there is a file in the AS2004 folder called current_wx_snapshot.txt This is why the weather is always dated from the 12th, it's reading from that file. Now how do I get AS2004 to do a fresh online update? I tried renaming that file, but after doing so, I was getting errors. I don't know if the problem is that or this crappy internet provider I am using. I really wish I were on my high speed connection, but while on the road like I am, this dial up is as good as it gets for me. Thanks.ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ASUS A7N8X DeluxeAntec TruePower 480 PS1.0 gig DDR PC2700ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 running Omega DriverSB Audigy 2WD 60 gig HDDWD 40 gig HDDCH Products USB YokeCH Products USB PedalsWindows XP Prohttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
  15. Jim, Thanks for replying. I don't think I am using an archived weather file, but just to be sure, what is it I need to do to insure that I am not. I usually just set up FS, make sure the weather is clear as the instructions say to, then start up AS2004, and it immediately goes to a metar from the 12th. Perhaps it is pulling one. In the meantime, I'll double check my settings and see. Thanks again.ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ASUS A7N8X DeluxeAntec TruePower 480 PS1.0 gig DDR PC2700ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 running Omega DriverSB Audigy 2WD 60 gig HDDWD 40 gig HDDCH Products USB YokeCH Products USB PedalsWindows XP Prohttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
  16. Don, I do have Online Updates checked and I also have a check for VATSIM. I have tried everything to get AS2004 to pull VATSIM wx, but am having no luck at all. I compare the wx that AS2004 shows against what the metars are at the airfield I'm flying out of from ATC and from ServInfo, and the AS2004 weather is never right. Maybe it is this crazy dial-up connection I'm on through Earthlink, who knows? When I run ASwxRE 1.92 though, everything works out fine... By the way, I don't run them at the same time and after I do run one, I always clear out the weather before letting the other program do its thing. Thanks.ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ASUS A7N8X DeluxeAntec TruePower 480 PS1.0 gig DDR PC2700ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 running Omega DriverSB Audigy 2WD 60 gig HDDWD 40 gig HDDCH Products USB YokeCH Products USB PedalsWindows XP Prohttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
  17. Hi there all, Happy Holidays!!Here is my problem. I fly all of the time on VATSIM, heck, I'm flying on there right now. I create a flight plan from within FS, and pull it up on AS2004 using the New Route key. I have my settings to download online updates and VATSIM wx, but the flight plan always has weather from the 12th of the month, never the current date. It seems like the weather server it is pulling info from is forever stuck on that date... What gives, is it a problem reading info from the VATSIM wx servers or is it something with AS2004 or is it something I'm doing wrong? Thanks for any help anyone may provide. Fly safe!ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ASUS A7N8X DeluxeAntec TruePower 480 PS1.0 gig DDR PC2700ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 running Omega DriverSB Audigy 2WD 60 gig HDDWD 40 gig HDDCH Products USB YokeCH Products USB PedalsWindows XP Prohttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

  20. Hey all, I'm one of those silent lurker types that always check out the posts, usually laugh and do a lot of learning. As you can see in my sig, my machine is well capable of running the 737NG with nice results. I.m also privy to a high speed connection. But what happens when you're away from home and on a dial-up connection with your system like me right now?:( :( You sit, read posts about people griping (Can most of you ever really be satisfied? Probably not!), people making light of the situation (Proud of them!!) and you can only dream of having the update of the year. For those of you that are having a hard time getting it downloaded, take comfort in the fact that you will eventually get it. Me, I'll have to probably wait until I'm at home again in MAY!!! to download it. If I'm lucky, I'll have a chance sometime after the first of January. In the meantime, I still have the 737NG loaded (I don't have the uninstall program yet), I can still fly online on VATSIM on occasion, and since I'm retraining to be a real world C-130 flight engineer, I get all sorts of time playing around on C-130 simulators and cockpit/system trainers. Life is not all bad, but I'd sure love to get my hands on SU2!! Thank you PMDG and thank you to the beta testers that helped them out. I don't even know what SU2 is like, but I'm pretty sure when I get it, I'll be real happy. *Technical Question for PMDG* Barring any change in server status, etc. and since it may be a while before I can actually download SU2, will that email link and all still be valid, or is there a certain timeout built into the link? Thanks!!See you soon in the wild blue...ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ASUS A7N8X DeluxeAntec TruePower 480 PS1.0 gig DDR PC2700ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 running Omega DriverSB Audigy 2WD 60 gig HDDWD 40 gig HDDCH Products USB YokeCH Products USB PedalsWindows XP Prohttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
  21. Well, after coming home from my extended trip, I have found that the problem did not magically fix itself. I have also noticed something new. With my old sound card, I never heard any odd noises when the lockups occurred, but now with the SB Audigy 2, I hear all kinds of craziness. I hear the aircraft noise in a loop, but I also hear strange high pitched noises, like something that is getting amplified by the sound card. Could this be a problem with something grounding out or similar? I'm wondering if anyone has ever had an experience like this...ChuckBStudent PP-ASELAthlon XP 2800+ASUS A7V333Antec TruePower 480 PS1.0 gig DDR PC2700ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 running Omega Driver 2.4.78 (Based on 3.7)SB Audigy 2WD 60 gig HDDWD 40 gig HDDCH Products USB YokeCH Products USB PedalsWindows XP Prohttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpghttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/fc.php?vat...D1&a=pic767.jpg

  23. Well, I checked the IRQ's of my new sound card and the Radeon. Sound is on 17 and video is on 16. I tried FS again after loading the default drivers that came with the new Audigy 2 and things were going great for about a half hour and then whammo!! This time though, the sounds were really whacked and it was like when I pressed keys on the keyboard or moved the mouse, the sounds got really funky. I don't know what to do now. How can something work perfectly for almost two months and then suddenly crap out??ChuckBStudent PP-ASELAthlon XP 2800+ASUS A7V333Antec TruePower 480 PS1.0 gig DDR PC2700ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 running Omega Driver 2.4.78 (Based on 3.7)SB Audigy 2WD 60 gig HDDWD 40 gig HDDCH Products USB YokeCH Products USB PedalsWindows XP Prohttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
  24. Well, I reinstalled DirectX 9.0b and that proved to be useless. Another crash. Just to try and stay ahead of the troubleshooting, let me expand on what I have and don't have installed. I have FS9 with a few addon aircraft, nothing fancy. I had a lot loaded before, but since reloading FS9, I have kept it simple. I was having lockups with the default aircraft long before I ever added any. Relating to DX9, I have turned my hardware acceleration from fully accelerated all the way down, and I'm still having lock-ups. All motherboard inclued sound is turned off and confirmed as well. So for now, I'm still stuck with a machine that locks up all of the time with FS9, and most of the time with other games as well...ChuckBStudent PP-ASELAthlon XP 2800+ASUS A7V333Antec TruePower 480 PS1.0 gig DDR PC2700ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 running Omega Driver 2.4.78 (Based on 3.7)Hercules Fortissimo II SoundWD 60 gig HDDWD 40 gig HDDCH Products USB YokeCH Products USB PedalsWindows XP Prohttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
