  1. Thanks. I'll play with it some more and if I come up with a solution, I'll post it.
  2. Thanks for the quick reply. Both are currently set at 0. I experimented with setting them to 1 but it didn't make any difference.
  3. I am trying to use a rotary knob on a WinWing Orion throttle base to control the throttle on the new MSFS FlyInside Bell 206. Each click of the knob basically acts as a button press. Button 83 for clockwise movement and button 82 for counterclockwise. I have it mapped in AAO to the HELICOPTER_THROTTLE1_INC and HELICOPTER_THROTTLE1_DEC respectively. The note for the command says it will increment/decrement the throttle by 1/128. What I am finding instead is that it increments/decrements in 10% increments. Is there perhaps a script I could use instead that would change the sensitivity to 1%? Scripting isn't exactly one of my strong suits. Thanks,
  4. There is a fix for the CTDs in the DC area. For the Store version, go to C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore\fs-base-cgl\CGL\032 and rename the bldo010.cgl file. I renamed mine to bldo010._cgl. You can read more details about this at https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/kadw-andrews-ctd-analysis-by-community-contributions/465405/92
  5. That's what I get for responding to a post I found with Google without looking at the original posting date. My apologies for replying to an old topic. Mike
  6. This appears to be an issue if you are on the Windows Insider Fast Ring and getting the new Redstone 3 builds which as of right now is Build 16188. From what I have been able to determine, the problem looks like it is caused by Microsoft's introduction of the new OneCore architecture. I will admit that most of this is conjecture based on the research I have done to try to resolve the issue. What is frustrating is that every once in a while P3D runs normally. But, more often than not, it doesn't. I have tried disabling all addons and then enabling them one at a time but the results of those tests were inconsistent. I wish I could find out what child window was trying to be opened but, so far, no luck. For what it's worth, I don't run with a lot of addons. I run: VRS Superbug with TacPack aircraft of choice MegaSceneryEarth and Bluesky photoreal scenery ActiveSky 2016 weather Ultimate Traffic Live FSUIPC (registered version) Mike Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview 64-bit Build 16188.rs_prerelease.170430-1928 SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK 1 (SOCKET 1150) Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.00GHz (Liquid cooled) 32.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz (9-9-9-24) 3071MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Not top of the line, but no slouch, either.
  7. I have been running the X55 drivers since they came out in September. They seem to work well. I haven't had any issues. I can't speak to the drivers for the other products. Mike
  8. Service 3 is still at 1.9. For my area at least, Southern New Hampshire, USA, Service 3 still has a more up to date image. Your mileage may vary.
  9. Are you trying to run it outside of FSX? Simple answer is, "Don't". I tried that and got the same error message box. Start up a flight in FSX and in your Add-ons menu you will have a new entry called AI Ships. That is what runs carrier.exe and allows you to configure what ships you use and where they are located.Mike
  10. Hi, Christian,It was in the southern New Hampshire, USA area. Around the cities of Nashua and Manchester. I run FSX full screen so I can't be more specific than that. I notice the message after I end the flight. If it would be helpful I can run FSX in windowed mode and see if I can narrow down the specifics of where the error pops up.Mike
  11. I don't seem to be having any success tracking this down. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks,Mike
  12. For some reason I have started experiencing the following error message:TileAPI: WARNING! Output size of write_extended_bmp looks fishy! (16777290)What I think is happening is that I have my Max_Level set too high for the area I am flying in because the message appears after a series of HTTP 400 errors. I'm thinking about dropping the Max_Level setting down a notch and see what happens. If it makes a difference, I am using Service 3.Am I on the right track or am I barking up the wrong tree? Thanks,Mike
  13. Arista,Perfect! I found it in Firefox. It's under Tools -> Page Info -> Media.Barry,Updating the version numbers in the proxyuser.ini might get you better tiles for the area you are flying over. From every TP release I have seen so far Christian has the current version numbers current at the time of release. Since there has been some talk about there being a significant amount of time before the next release I wanted to figure this out myself so that I could keep the map versions current. To be honest, I haven't seen much difference in the tiles between different versions so everyone will have to make there own decision as to whether or not doing periodic version checks is worth the effort over just waiting for the next TP release. Mike
  14. I thought I saw in an earlier thread how to determine the map version for the different services. I don't seem to be having any luck finding it tonight.Could someone explain how to retrieve the current map versions in use by a particular map service? Thanks,Mike
  15. In the Display section of your fsx.cfg file there is an entry called WideViewAspect. Try setting it to True and see if that makes a difference.Mike
  16. It's in the scenery.cfg in C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataMicrosoftFSXMike
  17. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I started with GE and liked what I saw. I deleted the cache, ran the cleanup.bat file and then reconfigured for VE. For what it's worth, I liked GE better and switched back. It wasn't that VE was bad, it was that GE just seemed sharper. I suppose a lot of it has to do with where you fly. I did my comparison in southern New Hampshire.Mike
  18. Christian, you're a genious! This is what VFR flying is all about. One question for the group. I am using GE (tried VE but the textures didn't seem to look as good). After the URLs are retrieved I get the following in my ProxyUser console numerous times:tileproxy.sys: FileAllInformation?tileproxy.sys: PostQueryInformation() was unsuccessful asking for:tileproxy.sys: FileAllInformationThe textures appear to be loaded normally so I'm not sure if the above is good, bad, or just normal processing. Thanks again. This is the best addon for FS I have ever seen and I've flown every version since the SubLogic days.Mike
  19. >In the real plane, you pull the knob. (So if you control the>throttle from the panel in the game you will have to pull the>knob).>>But if you have a throttle on your computer joystick, the>setting is probably that you have to push the throttle lever.>>Actually, in the real plane you push the knob to add power. The throttle arrangement in every aircraft I can think of is the same. If you want to go forward, you push the throttle forward. Now that I think of it, it's the same with my truck! :)Mike BromleyPP SEL
  20. Look in the Display section of your fsx.cfg. You will see the following entries:InfoBrakesEnable=FalseInfoParkingBrakesEnable=TrueInfoPauseEnable=TrueInfoSlewEnable=TrueInfoStallEnable=FalseInfoOverspeedEnable=FalseSet them to True or False to set your tastes.Mike
  21. Bill,Once you get within about 60-70 miles of your destination ATC will start issuing vectors to the runway. In effect, they are overriding your flight plan. It happens in the real world too. Usually not so far out.Mike
  22. If I'm not mistaken, The Special Effects Detail slider needs to be set to High. Mike
