  1. 1. Had been using AS6.5 successfully...2. Successfully upgraded to ASE3. Computer (months later) crashed, successfully re-installed ASENow my question... Should (can) I re-install AS6.5 in order to restore textures and texture control?4. I'm not even sure if I know what I'm talking about...Any ideas or advice about this? Thanks in adavnce...
  2. All seems to be OK... Did two different things in pre-flight...1). Thought about the suggestion by boeing 7478, and dialed in the flaps one increment at the time... Flaps 1, (wait until it is finished), Flaps 2 (again wait until it is finished), then Flaps 5... Of course if you want Flaps 15, use the same procedure of making one notch at the time...2). Left the trim as-is... Did not attempt to dial in a different setting. It's easy to change the trim on climb-out as needed. I guess I had been used to setting the recommended trim in the LDS 767, PMDG 747, etc.I guess these two things fixed the problem, (or maybe just one of them) and now I really am enjoying the 737 again! Thanks guys for the suggestions...Horace Riley
  3. Thanks all for the suggestions. I may have been thinking of RTO on brakes, and said Auto-spoilers. I know the spoilers have to be armed, (in flight), and will automatically deploy on wheel touchdown. As for flaps, have been using 5, or 15 deg. for takeoff, according to recommendations by Utopia, to give a de-rated TO and flap setting. I've checked and re-checked FMC to see that it is accurate, pressurization, packs, fuel feed settings, etc. Puzzled! If I find out what's going on, I'll post it here... Thanks again...Horace Riley
  4. Love the PMDG 737! For some reason, I cannot seem to find the reason that when I advance the throttle for takeoff, I get the warning beep. There is no display anywhere indicating a problem... I've programmed the FMC, set the flaps, proper N1 derate, trim, (not sure how to do this accurately), auto-spoiler set, autobrakes set RTO, lights on, APU off, yaw damper on (have tried it off, no luck), generators set, fuel pumps set, pressurization set, and on and on... The warning stops immediately as the wheels leave runway... I feel like I'm at a dead end... Any ideas?FS9 with Vista... No problems on the PMDG MD-11, and 747, PSS 757 or 777, or the LDS 767, Dreamfleet 727, or stock aircraft... The 737-700/600 only.. ThanksHorace Riley
  5. Wow... I've been wondering about where to get a better fuel planner. I really like FSBuild, but cannot depend on the accuracy for the MD-11. Please send a copy of this to [email protected],Horace RileyDVA1334
  6. Installed Microsoft C++ (had been removed in order to repair another program) and all is well..Thank you Dan...Horace Riley
  7. When I try to use the MD11 load manager, it won't open and I get the message when double-clicking the exe:"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\PMDG\MD11_LoadManager.exeThe application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail."Any suggestions? This is the very first incident I've had with the MD11, and I find the load manager very useful. I'm using Vista 32. I thought maybe a re-install, but want to try to fix it before doing that...Thanks,Horace Riley
  8. FSBuild works great for me. I locate the flight I want to make using FlightAware, open FSBuild, enter in departure and destination of flight chosen. Then I copy and paste the route from FlightAware into FSBuild, select aircraft, enter aircraft weights, (DOW and Payload), build the plan and it will give you the route, ZFW, fuel load etc. When using with ActiveSky. it will also give you the winds-aloft component. You can customize the plan as you need including adding/change the SIDs and STAR. Takes a few minutes to complete a flight plan, but it is "realistic" and works great. I use it with PMDG MD11, 737-700 and 747, LevelD 767 and stock aircraft.http://flightaware.com/http://www.fsbuild.com/Horace Riley
  9. Purchase info says XP only. Is that still standing? Is a patch available? Love the 747 and would like to have the 737. I'm using FS9 and Vista 32. Answers appreciated... (P.S. I didn't find the answer using search, maybe I missed it.)
  10. Hi,You may want to try this: Go to the pop-up where you tune the radios. On the lower right of each panel section where you tune the NAV 1 and NAV 2 frequencies, there is a three-way switch... Up=Over-ride, Centered=DME, and Down=Standby. Above each switch there is a "Test" push-button switch... Try the DME position and see if that works. Welcome to many that Loves This Bird!Horace Riley

Then I tried opening the throttle pedestal view and moved each throttle control with the mouse, and joystick control was restored... I didn't try using the throttle trim again on that flight, but moving the throttles manually worked so I could finish the flight using the throttle wheel on the joystick (MS Precision Pro) with no problems...Sonny
  12. Have been enjoying a sound package by Eric Cantu that evidently was designed for the original Tinmouse 737. It has the co-pilot and pilot voices on the engine startup, and is very smooth, in all phases of operation. It is on Flightsim.com with the file name: 732sns.zip Check it out. You might like it...:)
  13. >I'm having a problem with the reversers. When I land and use>F2 to deploy in landing or RTO, the deployment sound wav plays>over and over, until speed is below 60 kts.>>scott s.>.>Here's what works for me... I use a Microsoft Precision Pro joystick with a throttle control on it. When landing, I retard the throttle completely on the stick, and hit F1 on the keyboard which ensures the throttle is at "zero" thrust... Then I hit F2 to bring in the reverse thrust... When below 80 knots IAS I hit F1 to reduce thrust and stow the thrusters. With some engine sound packages, if you go below 80 knots, (the speed varies with different planes) you'll get the compressor stall sound... By the way, thanks to the hard work of all those who have worked so hard to make the "Tinmouse" great...
  14. Would appreciate anyone with a flightplan Gatwick to Atlanta for the 767... Also... is there a site where international plans can be downloaded...? Thanks in advance... :-)
  15. Thanks for your hard work OBK...Question... Is the upgrade zip file 1.1 in this thread the same as the one in the Mon Jul-21-03 08:19 AM post?I have downloaded that file, and am unable to download the 1.1 zip file in this post. I get a window saying that file is unavailable. Thanks again.Horace Riley
