Hi Ken,Alas.....I'm a MAC guy, so I can't use the panelmaker. However I'm now getting to grips with the system files and things are starting to fall in place. The graphics side isn't a problem because I create everthing from scratch and I've implemented some new techniques to help, but as you can appreciate its a huge job creating a panel from scratch by yourself. Thanks for your input KenCheersJohn

YEP!......its on instantly, I've tried 3 different location (JFK,LAX,SMO) and the acc is displayed as soon as the PFD is active. Thanks anyway Alejandro for trying to help me out!CheersJohn

Hi Roger,Thanks a bundle.........very clear explanation.I was wondering whether the NEW enlarged rectangle sizes will interfere with any of the existing displays, pbg's, etc..........because they now overlay??..........and just to clarify are we now saying that the first 2 digits (x, y,) refer to the starting point and the second 2 digits are the size of the rectangle?? (Just as in a gauge placement).I'm not to sure about this.........I'm going to have a closer look at them, If the second 2 figures are indeed the size of the rectangle it appears that some of them will be larger than the Image file they cover!!Speak to you later, MateCheers John

Hi Alejandro, how are you!!I've just been looking at the EFIS section in the Pereguine PNL file and theres several listed in the BEARING section. I think your probably right that these sections are indeed blank spaces within a larger frame that react when the cursor enters them. The funny thing is though, I'm more confused now than ever, because for the life of me I can't figure out how the KNOB pbg's for the EFIS (Bearing, Course, Display) are sized and placed. What I mean to say is that normally files are position as follows:10 (X position)30 (Y position)20 (X size of pbg)20 (Y size of pbg)efis.bearing.pbgbut in the EFIS section of the PNL, there is NO individual size or position for the Bearing, Course, Display pbg's even though there named.Emmmmmmm!!!!.................the plot thickensSpeak to you laterRegardsJohn

Hi Roger,Can you just take a quick peek at the attached, just to make sure I've got this right.Bye the way what is the purpose of these Rectangles (When and how would you use them??.) Thanks Mate I really do appreciate it.John

Hi Guys,Could someone please explain a couple of things to me regarding the system data. The first questions relate to the PNL file.1) What does the figures relate to which directly follow the bmp reference file. (This is NOT the pbg file size reference as specified in )Eg.efis.SWT.pbg552) Could someone please explain how exactly the figures relate. I've tried to figure them out, but can't seem to make sence of them. Do these relate to X,Y,Z, positioning in anyway?. What is the start point of the rectangle??Eg. ---- begin ---- ---- rect ---- 5 33 24 52Sorry to be a pain Guys.......... but these are beginning to hold me up.Thanks for your TimeregardsJohn

Hi again,Alejandro, the acc display is on instantly as soon as the Hawker(Pereguine) fires up. I'll go and try it a few more times just to make sure.Speak to you soonJohn

Hi Alejandro,Your probably correct, but ive posted a picture anyway! The figure increases from 0 - 6 when under full throttle and then disappears from the display around 135kts (IAS).The character above the D/height input figures.......... I thought was an 8 or B is probably a 0...............but I can't figure out what its for??Thanks for your HelpRegardsJohn
-
Hi everyone,Does anyone happen to know what the characters: accmean on the Primary Flight Display?? (characters in green bottom, left corner)also there appears to be a character (possibly an 8 or :( above the Decision Height input figures (bottom right corner) of the PFD, any idea what this refers to??Thanks in advanceJohn

Hi Leen,I fully understand what your saying, I just think it will become difficult keeping track of who's doing what!, without extensive forum searches, people should'nt become dissapointed if someone else is painting a similar livery, because its their Creation and they should be proud of it!.I do appreciate peoples disappoinment, but if we look at all the liveries Pete Sterling created then theres not many left for us to do!!, because he done so many. But this should not stop people creating their own versions and more importantly uploaded them so we all have a choice and chance to use them. Don't forget Pete tried to encourage this by putting together excellent tutorials. Please don't be offended by my thread it was only my way of trying to encourage more people to participate in FLY!RegardsJohnp.s. ...........don't mention the football

Hi Guys,Interesting points...........all of them!!However..........I personally think its so important for everone to participate in our sim as often as possible,................If we don't,.... then I feel FLY's days may well be numbered. The more people contribute, the more our sim will grow and this will then attract more development by new and present developers.NO ONE will support a product that has a small market.......if we want to see FLY survive (and we ALL do),......please, please don't restrict ourselves anymore than we all ready have.Let FLY grow!!!, Paint as much as you can, and contribute as much as you want...........and don't forget...It should be FUN!!Regards to you allJohn

Hi Jarno,Thanks for that info............I'll see if I can find somemore information on the EFIS systems.Do you know if theres........ an Audioable sound that warns you when you are approaching you're choosen height or does a light annunciator illuminate??I will have quite a lot of questions.............so I really do appreciate any help. Thanks AgainJohn

Thanks for that....RogerThe switch in question does have a LEFT and RIGHT bank labeled: FLOOD LTS L R GRD OFF ONI've really struggled to find good pics and information on this aircraft.........and theirs quite a few things I'm not to sure about. I know its quite similar to the DC9 Panel, but I'm trying to make this panel as complete as possible.I think I'll probably have to call it a day shortly. I'll probably let the guys view it and see if thay want me to release it.Thanks anyhow for all your guidanceCheers MateJohn

Hi Ivor,Thanks for the interest......................Its actually a PANEL I'm working on for a jet aircraft.RegardsJohn
-
Thanks Roger..........its a good job some people know what their talking about.Sorry to bother you agian Mate, but I've a question regarding the FLOOD lights explaination. The Switch in question appears to be for some kind of external lighting i think, because the switch (labeling text) is as follows:FLOOD LGTSGRD (possibly GROUND)OFFONAny ideas????Thanks again Roger for all your invaluable help
-
Thanks Roger.......How ya do'inFeel free to email me anything you feel relevant........because I'm a bit confused here??..In the RETRACT position the lights retract flush with the wing surface(I presume the lights cannot be illuminated??)andin the EXTEND position where they face front(The lights are still not illuminated??)So what exactly is the purpose of having the LIGHTS extended (position 2) but not switched on???Im I missing something here!!Many Thanks..................I really appreciate your helpJohn
-
Hi Everyone,I need your help please!! .........does anyone happen to know the location of these aircraft landing lights and when and how they operate?1) FLOOD Lights: a) There position on the aircraft? :( What they are used for?1) LANDING Lights: a) What do these mean exactly:- RET (I think this stands for RETRACT) EXT (I think this stands for EXTEND) OFF (Obviously Lights OFF) EXT ON (I think this stands for EXTEND ON):( Where the lights are position exactly on the aircraft, when the switch is in each of these positions? c) The circumstances they would be selected for use? (eg. Which switch position would be selected for landing) If anyone can shed any LIGHT on the matter (sorry could'nt resist than pun) I'd really appreciate it. Many Thanks Guys John

Hi Steve,Just thinking ..............What about the Lighting Stantions on the Aprons and Terminal areas (the big tall ones which are surrounded with bulbs)Oh.....you know what I mean!!!!CheersJohn
-
Hey Steve........................I'm IMPRESSEDThe Light Rigs are fantastic!!! As you maybe aware............Pilots actually use the Chimney Stack and Beacon at Fiddlers as a marker for approach into John Lennon when I'm there (Day or Night) its amazing just how close these aircraft appear next to the Cooling Towers. These will make a superb addition to your EGGP scenery and if you can model the Runcorn bridge at sometime (Although I can appreciate this maybe a hugh task). This will surely make one of the best flying areas available to FLY.Excellent Work SteveRegards John
