  1. You aren't possibly running dual monitors in a clone configuration are you?
  2. Actually, when it comes to lexan, we have a type of lexan, at work, that is used as a light diffuser. This lexan is white, but light transmits quite well through it. I am planning on ordering a piece of this material to use for my MCP and radio panels. For the top layer and all the lettering, I will laying it out in AutoCad, then taking it to a nearby printshop that also does vinyl cutting and have a decal made up using a grey vinyl. All the switch holes and lettering will be cut out prior to applying it to the diffuser lexan.Once it is done, in normal light, the lettering will show as white due to the color of the lexan, but in low light conditions, it will show the color of the backlighting source. You could put a few nice bright blue LEDs behind the lettering or any color you want. I made a quick inquiry last week and I believe a 1 metre by 1 metre square of this material was around $75cdn.I think most printing shops that do vinyl cutting could do the decals for you. It's just that you have to design the pattern first.
  3. The only issue I have seen with it is that the FMC will give you an insufficient fuel warning sometimes. Watching on the progress page, it will show the projected fuel load for your destination at 0 lbs. Once you drop out of warp, it will come back to the right values. At least I haven't run out of fuel ...yet!!:-lol
  4. Well, I don't know what more I can tell you John. I started to think that perhaps it was an obscure problem that my system setup was causing. Therefore, I dug out my old computer, an AMD1800XP, XP Home, 512M PC2700DDR, Ti4200 128M video on an MSI motherboard.I cranked it up and ran the installer, updated the Navdata, setup a default flight and tried to recreate the fault on this system. It wasn't even close to the same results...it was EXACT!! Right down to the exact same mouse click. I can personally testify that this problem exists and can be recreated at will on the two systems that I have at my disposal.Others in this thread have also been successful in recreating this fault as well. My next question is what is so special about your system that this does not happen to you? I can get around this fault so far by not using the full functionality of the fms. But the problem does exist and both it and I await a solution to this.Thank you,
  5. So, where do we stand on this issue? Can we expect any further investigation on PSS's part? Hello...?I sent an email to support a few weeks back. Received nothing but an auto response that it had been received. I realise that things are busy with the Concorde release, but I would like to have a product that doesn't crash my sim folks.x(
  6. Looks to me as though you are using the server IPs that shipped with SB. You will need to download Servinfo utility and use the IPaddress update feature that it has. This will load all the current server info into SB for you.http://www.avsim.com/hangar/utils/servinfo/Get it here!Hope this helps.
  7. Have we made any progress trying to isolate this problem? I just purchased this fine aircraft two months ago and I would like to think that it is still being supported. Thanks for any info.
  8. If you are having no problems John, is there any chance you can find someplace to host a copy of your gauge file and send me a link? I find it interesting that others can faithfully recreate the problem, yet it works fine on your system. Is it possible with your inside connections, that your gauge file is a little different? I just purchased the Dash about a month and a half ago. I'm finding it a little unsettling that I can't use it's full functions already.Have you tried a fresh install using the version that is available online currently? Just wondering if there was an old copy floating around that may have mistakenly been backed up to the site.Any help here would be nice. Rick's solution of using the old copy will only let you enter the data without a crash. The aircraft won't fly the loaded flight plan.:-zhelp :-zhelp :-zhelp
  9. Any chance that I could convince you to send it again Rick? I use my work email for Avsim and IT blocks certain attachments. Try the following if you would...cva3906 (at) hotmail dot com(feeble attempt to throw junk mail harvestors off the scent):) thanks again
  10. That's awesome news Rick and good detective work! Any idea where a fella can get his mitts on this gauge file?
  11. Alrighty, updated the NavData to the most current and no change. Crashes at the exact same spot as before. Hmmm....very interesting!
  12. Actually, I just checked and I am using an older AIRAC. I will update it and get back to you. Also, I am using FSUIPC 3.411.
  13. Hello All, My first post here at PSS, I just wish it was more favourable. I have been trying to get from Cleveland KCLE to Toronto CYYZ with the DHC8-300, but having no success. I did a search and I see that this problem has been a round for awhile, but figured maybe I could give a blow by blow that might help pin it down.First up, system stats.P4 3.0E (Hyperthreading Disabled)1024 PC 3200 DDR2-80G Sata Drives Raid 0Asus P4E DeluxeATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256Win XP Pro SP2FS9.1Flight in questionKCLE Fails V443 SUUUE DOGGS YXU V98 YWT V98 YYZHeres the blow by blow, step by step,Start FS9.1Default flight Default Cessna Parked at Gate 5 I believe at KCLE Select DHC 8-300 (Phoenix) Fly Now Shift/7 overhead Battery Master Main Batt Aux Batt Gen1 Gen2 APU Power Start Gen On Seat Belt on No Smoking on Emerg Lights armed Pitot Heat 1&2 on Shift/7 to main Clear warning Clear Caution Shift/6 FMS Accept INIT Fuel PAX 50 Cargo 1990 Alternate 300 Hold 500 Extra 500 FPL KCLE Enter Accept FAILS Enter Accept List Air 3(V443) Enter 5 (SUUUE) Enter DOGGS Enter Accept YXU Enter Accept List Next/Next/Next 4 Enter 11 enter List .........CTD!!!Love the Dash 8, hate the CTDs. 14. Well if you aren't going to speak up...allow me to.CONGRADULATIONS, to HiFi Simulations and crew on winning the 2004 simFlight.com award for Best FS Tool. It is comforting to know that you are receiving recognition for your hard work and dedication.:-wave:-wave:-wave:-beerchug:-beerchug:-beerchugAlso, a third place for support is nothing to sneeze at either! Although, I personally think you where robbed on that one!;-)
  15. That is interesting Martin. I just checked out the link you provided and there are quite a few people on the voice servers who must have "problems". I would say that over half of them have a different port listed than the 3290 that you pointed out. I haven't had the time to get into flying on Vatsim, but I have been testing connections occasionally with a D-Link 614. I hope that the troubles you elude to, don't affect the entire D-Link family!

Hi Chuck,That sounds so strange! Anyhow, I don't have the Autofeather programmmed into my X-45 yet. I did find it in the Options/Controls/Assignment menu under engines. It did not have an assignment, so I made one up and tested. Works fine. You may have to assign a key sequence youself.Happy flying!
  17. I was going to make a bubble etch tank, but cheaped out. Instead I just used a flat plastic tupperware container, laid the boards in flat and manually moved them to keep the process going. Doing the FSBus key card took about ten minutes using Ferric Chloride at room temps. Also, by using a flat tray, you only need about half an inch of solution above the board to do the job. A bubble etch tank would be more efficient, but I wasn't figuring on going into production. No matter how you do it, remember this!! Triple check your exposed image for shorts BEFORE you put it in the etchant. The simple matter of taking a pin and scribing away a minute stretch of resist will save you hours of digging and scraping copper off of the board after. Hmm...almost sounds like a little first hand experience there?:-mad
  18. I'm at work right now, but will give it a go when I get home. Never even thought of that. Thanks,
  19. Robert,Thank you for taking the time to address my concerns so fully. I can appreciate how what may seem to be a workable project may run into complications during it's creation and I accept that fact. I still believe that products you and the rest of the team put out are in a league of there own as is your support. For now, I will continue to use them, maybe by the time my cockpit is ready for it's first test flight, I'll find a work around. Many thanks,P.S. I've been by the Katana restaurant countless time, but never been in yet, will have to make a point to stop in.
  20. I've actually had this problem as well just last night! I brought up the radar, then clicked it to go to the mini radar and poof, it was gone! Couldn't get it back. Tried closing Active Sky and restarting, tried restarting the sim...nothing. Even uninstalled the radar and reinstalled, but it's just gone.
  21. It'll be OK, the door doesn't look that strong! About a 12 pound sledge hammer and the hole should be wide enough!!:-sae
  22. In February of this year, I wrote to PMDG concerning the SDK issue. I am just moving from the planning stage to the construction stage of a simpit based on the 737 using FSBus to interface. I expect the electronic components to arrive this week. The content of this thread seems to be a complete reversal from the email I received...Quote...We are curretnly testing the SDK but no release date is available. Watch the Forum and our website for more info on when this will become available. Regards Paul Gollnick Manager - Technical/Customer Support Operations Precision Manuals Development Group Unquote. What has transpired, leaves me a little perplexed. I think that it is wonderful that you are thinking of incorporating such features in the 744, but, I don't want to fly the 744! A lot of airports that I like to fly would be marginal for the 744 and I don't like long hauls. The 737 fits my needs to a tee.I don't want a full blown SDK, wouldn't know how it use it if I had it. If you are so concerned about copyright infringements or trade secrets, could there be some way to make a dll that would give access to the features indirectly? If I cannot access the features, then I will have no choice, but to abandon the PMDG model and invest my money in Project Magenta!Feeling very mislead...
  23. Hi All,Just putting together my shopping list for my FSBus project and came across a couple of questions. Firstly, does anyone know if you should be using a 4Mhz crystal with an internal capacitator or not? Also, is there or is there not an 18K resistor on the FSLed board? Thanks for any help,
