  1. Joe does! "A duplicated Object Library" though? As far as I know I have one central object library active. How do I find a 'duplicate' and delete or complete it as necessary? Nothing I would immediately recognise as such in the scenery.cfg file...
  2. Strange how systems vary. The idea of moving texture that don't show unless you move them to the main FS texture folder is of course an old one and applicable to any airport scenery with a problem, not just this one. No doubt about it in this case, if I remove the bitmaps from the FS9/Texture folder, buit leave them in the LOWS texture folder, grey vehicles. Move them back and technicolour... Who knows why this is necessary on my system and not on others.
  3. Just in case anyone ever has the same issue, moving the following files from the LOWS texture folder to the main FS9 texture folder leaves the airport with no blank textures as far as I can see: actros_512.bmp actros_512_lm.bmp airportbus_512.bmp airportbus_512_lm.bmp apu.bmp apu_lm.bmp FS9 Changed Files.txt packagecar.bmp packagecar_lm.bmp panther_512.bmp panther_512_lm.bmp pushback_side.bmp pushback_side_lm.bmp stair_truck.bmp stair_truck_lm.bmp trolly.bmp truck_gutdeutsch.bmp truck_ivao.bmp truck_ivao_lm.bmp ts_corpus.bmp ts_corpus_lm.bmp VW-Bus_Feuerwehr.bmp VW-Bus_Feuerwehr_lm.bmp
  4. I tried copying all the LOWS texture files into the main FS9/texture folder - sometimes does the trick, and sure enough it worked this time. If I can sort out which of the bitmaps are the vehicles I could just move those rather than fill up the main texture folder with unnecessary files....
  5. Hi. I checked again - my 'ReadMe.txt' makes no mention of that. We must be looking at a different file. The manual.doc does show 'Download textures from AVSIM' but that's just for the tree textures, which I have. I can't find a link anywhere in the documentation to http://library.avsim....php?DLID=19575 Not sure I am using ModelConverterX correctly - I import the bgl file and the Event Log shows 'No objects in File'. Does the programme recognise FS9 model objects? I decompiled the bgl using BGLAnalyze: I get an xml file and several mdl files, but I am no nearer to finding what my missing textures are.
  6. Did you try deactivating Scenery/Eure too? Oddly, I have sometimes found that just putting "Active=False" in the scenery.cfg file doesn't work - for testing I always delete all the entries (with a backup of the original, needless to say!!). Much quicker to do that as well. FS is usually fine with that, but occasionally it doesn't like the fact that the paragraphs are no longer numerically sequential and won't run. If you don't have it I highly recommend 'Scenery Align', which adjusts all the scenery.cfg entries so they show the correct sequential number (without re-arranging them, of course) at a mouse click - plus other 'cool' stuff too. I never add new scenery via FS9, only via the scenery.cfg and Scenery Align. In any case, FS9 stopped seeing new entries years ago, I must have reached the limit that it can see via the FS9 library interface (they still show up no problem in the sim).
  7. I wonder if anyone has this scenery: http://giannisworld.net/downloads.html It's a nice freeware representation of LOWS... but (not having flown there for a long time, I don't recall whether it was always like this), all my static ground vehicles have blank textures. The file containing most of the vehicles is LOWS_2006_static_vehicles.bgl - I decompiled it in the hope of finding references to bitmaps, but it's all EZ scenery or RWY 12 - like this.... <SceneryObject lat="N47 47.41506" lon="E012 59.96562" alt="0.0000M" altitudeIsAgl="TRUE" pitch="0.00" bank="0.00" heading="260.00" imageComplexity="NORMAL"> <LibraryObject name="668e3f91dfd542be917836d98e081c12" scale="1.00"/> </SceneryObject> so I have no idea what the textures needed might be (how do you relate that long name string to a texture or object?). I thought I had all the Rwy12/EZ scenery installed, and the manual for LOWS makes no mention as far as I can see of such extras needed as separate downloads.. If you have this, or want to try it out even, I'd be interested to know if the ground vehicles and objects (fuel tankers, stairs etc.) have any textures in your setup. Thanks.
  8. I was trying to import some other way before (can't remember how), but now I look, it's hardly 'rocket science', is it? I wonder how I manged miss that before. Yes, that works well. The only thing is that the programme doesn't recognise any waypoint names, everything is called 'fix', but for a quick check of an fsn file without having to load the sim, this is just fine. Thanks! Edit: Found the NavAid database online (http://simviation.com/simviation/download.php?ID=563) and with the two files installed into the Windows 'Roaming' folders as instructed, all the Nav Aids/waypoints now have names. Version 4 of the programme works fine showing FSN flight plans...
  9. I loaded the c170 and set up as you said you had Harald - Rwy33 on May 4th. at 23.33. I slewed the a/c so I was close to the terminals, with city view and slewed around every few minutes. I did that for about 25 minutes, changing views from cockpit to spot - all was fine. Have you tried doing the same but with all the other scenery apart from FS9 default and the EPWA and Warsaw city removed from the scenery.cfg file? I'd try that if you haven't. I have in the past had CTDs at airports and have had to remove sceneries batch by batch from the scenery.cfg file (I have almsot 1500 entries, so it takes some time) until I find the scenery, and then the bgl file, that is causing the crash. Sometimes the culprit has been a bgl relating to a scenery on the other side of the world, no logic at all: very odd... The main annoyance is waiting for the crash to happen and then reloading FS9 each time. I strongly recommend, a propos of the latter, creating an fs9/aircraft folder just for testing, containing a copy of the default c170 and nothing more, temporarily renaming the full folder aircraftXXX or whatever. It cuts the FS9 load time down to seconds instead of minutes (on my setup, with so many addon a/c, at least). If you don't get the CTD any longer with only EPWA, Warsaw City and default scenery loaded, then an addon is at fault. However, it could also also be due to a default bgl file in the FS9/scenery folder - the way bgl files, fine individually, react together to cause problems is so complex in its computations as to be unfathomable - so if you still get the crash, disable Name/Asia/Eure/Eurw etc. etc. in the scenery.cfg file as well. If you still get a crash, remove bgl files from the EPWA scenery folder in batches... it's time consuming though, needless to say. I find that although I end up thinking, 'I can't be bothered, I hardly ever fly to that aiport anyway, I'll just leave it' (not something we'd want to do with EPWA though of course), the curiosity and challange to find out the root cause soon brings me searching anyway.. Viel Spaß..
  10. I have v.4, so installed v.3 as well - but I can't find a way to make the programme open an fsn plan, I just get error messages. Do you know how to do that?
  11. If there's a way to batch export, fine, but I doubt there is. Thanks
  12. I am of course expecting a 'no', as FS navigator acts as a 'plug in' in FS9, but I thought it worth asking anyway.. just in case. Does anyone know of a way or utility that would allow you (i.e. me) to view an FSN flight plan without having to start up FS9? Just to see the plan on a map is all I am looking for, not to make any interaction with it. Googling didn't help... I could just take a screenshot of each one, in FS9, but I have built up way in excess of 2000 plans now, so that's a bit daunting, to say the least! Thanks.
  13. Do you only ever get the CTD flying at night?
  14. Saitek think the hardware is to blame (and I do keep getting problems with axes going way off centre), so they have offered to replace it for a new one...
  15. That's good, though as I say, I don't think that I have flown at night with this scenery - the crashes I was getting originally were during the day, but maybe they have been fixed in an update. I'll try at night with trees and all active and see what happens. Does the crash happen quite soon, or do you have to wait around for some time?
  16. I have had an X52 for so long that if the button/key presses were any different from what they are now, I'd never get it right - it's instinctive. How do you 'programme;' the X52 to respond to chosen key presses with no programming software and no FSUIPC? I use the stick mouse on the X52, but could do without it if necessary. Next time the problem happens I'll try some of the 'solutions' I just found here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=38498 and elsewhere, and try setting the X52 mouse with a large deadzone. If all this fails, I'll disable the X52 mouse I guess.. Thanks.
  17. I am still getting this behaviour. The folks at MadCatz have been quite good and are investigating - they have offered to replace the X52 for a new one, but I doubt that the hardware is the problem. (I can fortunately test this as I have two X52s and am going to swap them over today to see if the wandering cursor still occurs - little doubt that it will. The problem with using FSUIPC is that some a/c don't like it. PMDG support have told me not to use FSUIPC to programme their MD-11 for instance, as it causes issues. I don't know if you'll come back to this thread Michael, but just to confirm, you uninstalled all the Saitek software and then only installed the drivers? I have a full setup of commands via the programming software and I envisage, if if it works with my PMDG etc. third party aircraft, it will be a nightmare to get everything working as it does with the Saitek software! Anyone else have this? A little video here, though I am sure it's hardly needed: http://mega.nz/#!T4JCSLpb!qN0xVwYqh7hBy5F12qGX98NWCOBaDvXsfH7wwAeJ46g (At 6", I pulled the X52 USB plug out) M.
  18. OK, I'll see. For now maybe it's simpler just to set GA a/c on and off in the FS9 menu, as needed. But thanks.
  19. I have downloaded it - seems to do a lot of things. I suppose you use it yourself? If, as a starter, I want almost no GA a/c at Heathrow, what typical values do I need to input for landing fees? The default landing fee for Heathrow is 2649.64, but I have no idea what to change this to realistically. Can't see anything specific in the manual. As a general rule, how do I change airport landing fee values to exclude GA aircraft? Double them, for instance? Thanks
  20. Yes, that would be effective... I'd have to do it for quite a long list of 'major' airports though
  21. Yes, I think it best I do that. I fly a lot more often between large airports with jet aircraft than I do small airfields, so can change back to add GA traffic enabled as and when. Thanks.
  22. Hi, I have it and do use it (occasionally) for adding/creating flight plans and so on. I didn't want to disable GA globally, but I suppose it's easy enough to change like this each time I fly, as necessary. Does this work for all airports though or just default? - I rarely fly at 'bare' FS9 airports, only 3rd. party ones. (I can always go and load the sim and find out I suppose!). Thanks.
  23. Try these settings - I've been 'tweaking' these for years, but these are the ones I have been living with for a long time now, and mostly I get sharp textures (with a fairly high-end PC), but it's always variable. Mountain ranges are never that good for instance. Back up the fs9.cfg file you have now, of course. The settings work for me, but This is AYOR! No harm can be done if you've copied your own cfg file first and can put it back if necessary (or just delete the FS9.cfg file and allow it to be rebuilt automatically next time you start FS9)... The fs9.cfg file is here in Windows 7: C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9 or Google to find the location in other O/Ss. There is no 100% agreement on some of these values. Some people swear by one settings, others by something different... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- [DISPLAY] UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=60 TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=25600 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=1.0 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=1.3 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=1.25 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=1.4 TextureMaxLoad=10 [TERRAIN] TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=95.000000 TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000 TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000 TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21 TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8 TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5 TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1 TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1 TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.500000 TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=3.900000 TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4 If that doesn't help, try some of these values: [sCENERY] IMAGE_COMPLEXITY=5 DYNAMIC_SCENERY=1 DYN_SCN_DENSITY=5 DAWN_DUSK_SMOOTHING=1 SUNGLARE=1 LENSFLARE=1 [GRAPHICS] FULL_SCREEN=0 PERFORMANCE_MODE=0 DEF_PERF_MODE=7 TEXT_SCROLL=1 AUTO_LOD=0 DETAIL_TEXTURE=2 WATER_EFFECTS=1 TERRAIN_USE_VECTOR_MAP=1 TERRAIN_USE_VECTOR_OBJECTS=1 EFFECTS_QUALITY=2 GROUND_SHADOWS=0 SMOOTH_VIEW=1 IMAGE_SMOOTHING=1 TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024 COCKPIT_HIGH_LOD=1 AIRCRAFT_SHADOWS=1 LANDING_LIGHTS=1 IMAGE_QUALITY=0 TEXTURE_BLDG=1 TEXTURE_GND=1 TEXTURE_WATER=1 AIRCRAFT_TEXTURE=2 SEE_SELF=1 TEXTURE_QUALITY=3 LOD_TARGET_FPS=42 NUM_LIGHTS=8
  24. I have always thought it looks a bit odd at Heathrow, JFK and so forth to see Cessnas lining up with A380s, B777s waiting patiently (??) for little Piper Cherokees to line up and take off ... never seen it in real life anyway. I am supposing there's no way to do this apart from on a rather laborious airport-by-airport basis? I could remove the taxi links for the GA parking spots, so disabling the GA spots, but that would just force GA to park at the large commercial gates, I imagine. I don't want to remove GA traffic globally, of course... Will I have to edit every airport using TTools, or is there a quicker way I haven't thought of? Thanks.
