  1. 5-10 grand? I got my new computer last week, and I paid ca. $1,500 for it, and get 20fps in heavy weather with the PS 777, full traffic and busy airport. It's an AMD 64 3500+, nVidia 7800GT and 1MB RAM.Also I think what should be renewed in fs10 is how it utizes the technology in the new processors and videocards, like other games do. It should rather be less demanding on the system than fs9 imho. The shop I bought from normally sells components, but they also assemble different kinds of computers, like office, home, game etc. Don't you have shops like that whereever you come from, so you can avoit the Dell and HP's and still get a complete out of the box ... eh ... box?Eagle
  2. I'm using 7.7.7.7. The only issue is that 8xS AA creates problems for FSForce and the wonderful new Recorder module (Matthias, the recorder is not the problem, the nVidia driver is) and some other stuff. But with 4x AA it works just fine. Unfortunately the videocard developers don
  3. Hi,I've had lots of nVidia cards, about a year ago I bought a ATI 9800 Pro. Never again ATI for this guy! I've had nothing but trouble with it. Of all kinds. The card is fine but it's almost impossible to get a proper driver for it. It either crashes or makes shimmering or drops to 5 fps in 2d or wobbles or ... you name it!I'm back to nVidia in my new rig. Some small issues with the latest driver, yes but nothing fatal, not like the ATI.So my advice, stick to nVidia. If you still want to find a 9800 pro (they are very cheap now), make sure you use the old Omega 2597 driver if you wanna stay out of trouble ;).Eagle
  4. Thanks Ryan! For now I can live with the small issues in nr. 1 and 2 until a new driver shows up. For the rest of it your advices worked very well, thanks you very much!!!Eagle
  5. Hi all,I just got my new rig running, and need some advice on the nVidia 7800GT card. I have the latest drivers, and with all settings maxed out in the driver and fs itself, it's running at 60 fps with Cessna in easy environment, and 30-20 with Herc/PMDG 744/PS 777 at busy larger airports in complicated weather (ASV). For me this is fantastic, very fluid. But:1. In the Create flight and pick aircraft windows I don't see a preview of the planes.2. The FsForce trim display creates a full black line at the bottom of the screen, not just a square surrounding the number.3. Looking at the landscape in perspective, the ground gets blurryer in steps, with a very visible transision, like a line instead of gradual (see attached screenshot). 4. There's a lot of settings in the driver
  6. That was supposed to be a secret! Now everyone knows, thanks to you!!! Think I maybe go make a nice coastline for Sweden now, since the people there are so nice :). Just have to push Finland a bit more to the east to make room for an ocean. On second thougt I'll make the ocean between Sweden and Norway, so Norway gets another coastline. Wait! Then they have to cross the ocean to get cheap wine and meat. Tricky.Slartibartfast (AKA Eagle)
  7. When it comes to aircrafts, you can't have missed the C-130 release. Even though Captain Sim have painted himself into a corner, shot himself in the foot, and bites the hand that feeds him, thats more of a loss for CS than for you and me IMHO. The aircraft is absolutely fantastic, read the review here at Avsim, it's true, every word! If, like me, you still have a lot to learn about flying a heavy BOEING, the Phoenix 777 is it. The manuals alone are almost worth the price, very informative. Also the way the automatic systems work, can tell you something about how to operate less automated planes, just by watching the readouts while operating it. The FDE and FMC among other things needs fixing, but it's in good hands.Last but not least, the combo Reality XP/Dreamfleet have provided us with a GA winner, the Baron 58.Have funEagleOh, here's the C-130:
  8. Matthias, this module absolutely rocks! Give this man an award. NOW!!!Landed the A36, and had a litte high pitch, then Replay > Shift > Esc, new go, what a tool for landing practice!:):):):):) (5 of 5 possible smileys)Eagle
  9. Matthias,I tried the 0.7 first time yesterday. Great work, thanks!!! I'll try the 0.72 later this evening :)Active Camera made things a lot easier with the Approach Wiew. Your little (big) recorder makes it very fun to replay a landing or view an airshow. The only thing I miss now in my setup is a way to remain in tower view, and move the view spot easily around. Something like the Active Camera VC right-shift-click in scenery (but that
  10. >>now it works like this, but is it really needed to be done>with Cessna every time? It's makes me crazy...Really? It takes 30 seconds do do that. And for a plane with a 9,420 miles range I don't find those 30 seconds too much of a problem.I use the Cessna as a "reset aircraft" very often, like when I want to go from one plane to another without quitting fs :).Eagle
  11. Didn't try at high altitude, but at 6000 it was steady as an Ekornes chair :)Eagle
  12. Are you absolutely sure you have both the battery, avionics (and magnetos for that matter) switched on in the 172?Eagle
  13. Maybe you have a default flight with battery and avionics on? Read more here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...=2880&mode=fullEagle
  14. I'm sure the PSS staff are able to tell us when they don't want more input ;)Eagle
  15. I just found a simple cure for these problems:
  16. Thanks John, Ive just found a simple cure for a bunch of problems, writing a new post right now ;)Eagle
  17. Relax please, I've made two posts, and mentioned one thing alone, cause I think it's important. If that's a problem for PSS I'd like to hear it from them, not you ;)brEagle
  18. Thanks, good to hear.Make it heavy :)
  19. Well, I have made a keyboard shortcut to the avionics switch, but in some cases it doesn't do the trick either. These addons are very complex, and they have to tweak fs to the limit and beyond to make things work at all, so things aren't always easy to grasp. Have you tried the Cessna start cure? Also remember that a great deal of the complex ac addons works best when loaded from default flight or at least Cessna with battery/avionics on and engine running. The PSS will go cold and dark according to settings anyway, so may that's the best setup for her?Eagle
  20. Same here. Haven't tried in 777 yet, but remember from A300 that I had trouble with the radios

    Huh?

Hi all!Just to make things absolutely clear, I think this is gonna be a very good 777, and the way PSS adresses different problems, it looks like it will be fixed quite quick :). And the manuals? That's what i call manuals! Where other manuals says "Turns fubazzgizmoflopvalve on an off" you explain what things are and how they work. We know buttons are for switching things on and off ;). Nice going PSS!What I find to be the biggest problem after my first flight in the 300ER is the airfile. It reacts to the control inputs like a much smaller plane, and cruising at FL300 it was very unsteady. But the strangest thing was the rollout (don't know if that's the right expression, the time from touchdown to final stop?). Anyway, here I am at full stop at KELP RW04 (reversers kicked out at 60 knots):http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/131873.jpgInstead of trying to measure the distance, I took off in my old Marchetti, and landed at the same runway:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/131874.jpgFull stop at almost the same spot? Ok, I admit I came in a bit low in the 777 and hit the runway at the first sign of asphalt (my first landing in the 777, and fully manual, I was surprised I managed to land at all). I also admit that I was a bit speedy in the SIAI and floated a bit, but still!Oh btw, love the systems, FMC and VC too :)Eagle
  22. >>Is there a particular reason you are bumping a thread>almost>>a year old?>>Yes.There's one born every minute.Eagle
  23. >To those who are complaining that PSS is charging for>repaints, you must keep in mind that these are repaints for>their model, their flight dynamics, their visual model,>hundreds if not thousands of hours put into it by their team,>and they choose to charge for repaint packages, or each, I>havent checked yet, but they are choosing to charge for>repaints regardless.>>>If you have a problem buying something then you DON
