  1. NOW you tell me (G)....sigh...I"ll check it out. Hopefully, it won't cost much (I HATE paying twice for what amounts to the same thing)...
  2. I've always had a thing for the C337 and had been extremely disappointed that Carenado's C337 previously only worked with FSX. When Carenado announced a couple of months back or so that it was releasing an FS2004 version (as part of their decision to release FS2004 versions of a number of their FSX only aircraft) I couldn't log onto Carenado's website fast enough to purchase a copy. In my rush I only glanced, briefly, at the product discription and failed to note that the plane doesn't come with a 2D panel! While I suspose VCs have their uses, I've never liked using one for flying, much preferring a 2D panel to fly with. So to get to my question, is there a decent 2D panel avaliable for Carenado's C337?
  3. How does one contact the forum administrator at AIG? When I tried to register I got the following mesage: The user scottmiller with Email smiller1701@sbcglobal.net (IP 76.214.5.82) is a Spam, please contact forum administrator. The problem with this is there doesn't seem to be any way to contact the forum adminstrator! I had a similar problem with Navigraph's web site after somekind of change had made to it. I was able to contact Navigraph and got the problem resolved, but in this case there doesn't seem to be amuwau to get help!
  4. Yeah, Joe I guess I'm pretty much in the same situation. For what its worth, I did a search of my entire FS2004 folder and its sub folders for "db_*.* " and discovered that there was a set of the truck textures in ONT2012's texture folder. I have no idea why i have to have another set in my Addon Scenery/texture folder for them to show up when I load ONT2012 (my Static Object Library is at top of my Addon List in cause anyone was wondering). At this point, though, I don't care. They're there now and thats all tha counts.... As a side note to everyone, I found that I had to move the fedex truck textures (FEDEXP.bmp through FEDX9B_lm.bmp) from my Static Object Library/texture folder to my Addon Scenery/texture folder for the missing FedEx truck textures to show up in Rob's KGRR scenery. The strange thing is a couple of FedEx truck textures *were* appearing (two trucks in the back of the DHL/FedEx terminal and maybe one in front). The cause of this is another mystery I can't explain. As with ONT2012, the missing textures are there now so it really doesn't matter I guess... Take care, Joe! I know you were just trying to be helpful, as was I (in begining this thread in the first place)...
  5. Joe, there would be no reason for me to have had those files on my computer until I put them there a couple of days ago. Beside, if I had already had them on my computer, I wouldn't have had the original problem in the first place. In any case, you didn't exactly make clear where you wanted me to search for the files, did you?
  6. BTW, Joe doing a search on *db_truck_lib* would be ill advised, to say the least. Doing the search on the entire AVLIM file Libary brings up 76 pages worth of files (around 800 in fact). It doesn't take much imagination to realize how long it would take to find the "curpit" having to go through THAT many files one by one! Doing the same search in just the FS9 Scenery Design library still brings up 9 pages of possible "curpits" including the db_truck_.fix.zip file, but not the db_truck_lib.zip file. Even only this many files would take quite a while to search through for the "curpit". Anyway, without the latter file the db_truck_fix file is useless. I think anyone looking for these files would be better off following my instructions... Scott
  7. Joe, Entering "Drew Bunting" in the search window will bring up the db_truck_library.zip file. For some reason you have to enter "db_truck_fix.zip" to find the other file (no idea why did doesn't come up in the first case. It ought to)! I suspected that otheres might have stumbled across this solution already, but since Shez asked me to post my or, rather Rob's, solution, I was all too happy to do so (especially since he had bent over backwards trying to resolve the problem several months ago). I figured I owed it to Shez. Besides, while I figured that some, like yourself, may have figured it out since I stopped following the original thread, its a pretty sure bet (to follow you example) that I wasn't the only one who hadn't heard of the fix... You're right, it would have been nice to have heard of the fix months ago, but hey, better late than never, right? I didn't continue to follow the original thread on the problem since I was experiencing extremely low frame rates with ONT2012. Until I upgrade my system I'll have to stick with ONT2006 for at least a few more months... Incidentally, if, as you speculate, I have an addon somewhere that includes the .bgl for the trucks and is missing some of the textures called by that .bgl, it apparently is missing other textures than the ones these files replace. One catering truck, at gate B10, in Rob's KGRR scenery is still missing its textuers as are several trucks behind the FedEX/DHL building in the KGRR scenery.... Take care, Scott
  8. Joe, both your first comment and the second make no sense at all. In fact, including these object libraries, or at least informing users where they could be found saves users a lot of grief such as what we (and Shez) all went through trying to figure out why the textures for the catering/service trucks weren't showing up. This makes your statement that it is a bad idea for scenery designers to include object libraries like these with their scenery truly nonsenscial (at least to me). Did you read my entire post? I explained how to find both db_truck_lib.zip and db_truck_fix.zip!. I also mentioned the name of the author of both files (Drew Bunting) in the post. As to your bet, I'd advise against it (what possible bearing does it have on anything, anyway?)...
  9. Fans of Shez Ansari's fantastic scenery ONT2012 (and his earlier ONT2006) may recall problems many reported in this forum about vechicles, mostly the catering/service trucks at the gates (a few also reported trouble with the FedEx trucks at the FedEx terminal). I was among thoses having these problems. Poor Shez was beside himself at point being completely stumped by this (as we all were!). I, myself, gave up hope of anyone finding a solution and went back to Shez's ONT2006 (which, like all of Shez's scenery, knows no equals in my opinion). FS9 runs I need a new system as FS9 is reduced to single digit fpms on my poor 2.2Ghetz single core 2006 system when I try to load scenery rich airports like ONT2012... But, I digress. I recently downloaded Rob Touchtone's excellent KGRR_2012 (Grand Rapids, MI) scenery and discovered that it's catering/service trucks at the gates were also not showing their textures. I contacted Rob who graciously sent me two files, db_truck_lib.zip and db_truck_fix.zip, by Drew Bunning. Both files are avaiable on AVSIMS' FS9 scenery design library. The former contains two files the author inadvertantly left out of the latter. The latter is also available as "dbtruklb.zip" on Flightsim.com. After copying the contents of the scenery folder to the Addon Scenery's scenery folder and likewise copying the contents of the texture folder to the Addon Scenery's texture folder the textures for the catering/service trucks at KGRR now appear (except for the truck at gate B-10). At this point I recalled the similar problem with ONT2012 and had a "I wonder if..." moment. I reinstalled ONT2012, loaded a saved flight at KONT and. low and behold, found the catering/service trucks now had their textures, too! Talk about killing two birds (and possibly more in this case)...! So far as I've been able to see, in ONT2012 ALL the catering/service trucks now display their textures. I promptly fired off an email to Shez to report this wonderful news. Shez asked me to pass it on to everyone here....enjoy! Hats off, again, to both Shez and Rob for their outstanding sceneries!
  10. Dillion, did you not read in my previous post regarding how QualityWings' 757 runs on my system? It stands to reason that I'd get the same thing with QW's BAe146. Frankly, I find your comparison of Flight to FSX laughable (as is your claim that FSX is "badly coded")...To call Flight (which belongs on an XBox, Play Station, or PS2/3, not a PC) a "flight simulator" in itself is laughable...I'd be deep into FSX at this point if I didn't have so much time and money in FS2004. I wouldn't have Flight on my system even if it AND all it's addons were free...
  11. Graemeb, I do appreciate what you were trying to do and you may very well be right about the QW BAe146 being superior to the EuroWings BAe146. However, that isn't relevant to the reasons I stated for going with the EuroWings BAe146 (chief of which is, as I explained, is that it is better suited for my current system). Thanks for explaining the nature of the TCAS display in the VSI. I assumed it was since the users manual for the EuroWings BAe146 makes no mention of it. I don't have any FSDreamteam products so there is no need to have the Auto Manager to authenticate any of it's licenses or that of QW's 757. Every other payware product I have for FS performs the license authentication during the installation process via a serial number that you type in. The only reason for adding an "Addon Manager" to the FS menu bar, as I said, is to promote the FSDreamteam/QW product line. QualityWings may have spelled out the contents of its initial BAe146 product on ITS website but Flight1 (where I downloaded QW's BAe146) most certainly failed to do so. QW must share the blame for Flight1's failure to alert the buyer that they aren't getting a complete package BEFORE they download the Flight1 wrapper for QW's BAe146. I didn't actually purchase QW's BAe146. As soon as I saw the warning message while using the Flight1 wrapper I exited the wapper without going through with the purchase. I'll wait until the package is complete before considering purchasing the QW BAe146 again (and after I've upgraded t a system capabile of handing it at a decent frame rate).
  12. I also have both Jon Murchison and PAD's BAe146 planes. The PAD BAe146 does indeed come with a VC. Though a bit crude, it's certainly better than nothing!I use Matthias Lieberecht's BAe146 panel with Jon's plane. A better panel than what comes with the PAD BAe146 but lacks a VC... Quite true, but EuroWings could have added a VC when they ported it over to FS2004...
  13. Graemeb,Please don't get me wrong, I do appreciate your recommendation, along with the others, BUT, just because something is new, doesn't automatically mean it is better and conversely, just because something is "very old" (by who's standards anyway?) doesn't automatically make it obsolete (or worthless for that matter). There are two problems with QW's BAe 146 product, first I have QW's Ultimate 757 collection, which is indeed an excellent product, but QW insisted on inflicting on those who purchase it, an "Addon Manager", a thinly disguised attempt to "encourage" one to buy other products. In FSX this isn't as intrusive, not being visible unless you pull down the module menu, as it is in FS2004 where it appears on the menu bar separately taking up valuable real estate for no good reason (other than to try to get you to buy something). I'm guessing QW has included the "Addon Manager" with it's BAe product as well.Secondly, QW's BAe product is incomplete as Scianoir correctly points out. I refuse to pay full price for an incomplete product. I did download the QW BAe 146 from Flight1 shortly after it was released only to learn when I started to pay for it that it wasn't the BAe 146 at all but the Avro RJ (which I have very little interest in), something which is not mentioned in the product description, at least not at the time (and which constitutes false and misleading advertising on both QW and Flight 1's part as far as I'm concerned). Finally, my current system running an AMD Athlon 64 +3200 with a 256mb GeForce Nvidia graphics card (I know, a real dinosaur!) is almost as old as EuroWings BAe146 and the frame rate while running FS2004 and QW's 757 (with even just moderately dense scenery) drops down into single digits. Obviously, the same is sure to be true of QW's BAe146. I'm holding off for a few months getting a new system capable of running either QW's 757 or BAe146 at decent frame rate with all the FS sliders to max and everything turned on. I just had to reinstall all my software after having to replace my primary hard drive less than a year ago. Just reinstalling all my non-FS software took several weeks! I'd *really* rather NOT have to go through that ordeal twice in the same 12 month period...Given all this EuroWings' BAe146, even with the bug in the EFIS panel, is a far better choice than QW's "BAe146" until I get around to upgrading my system... Sorry, guys, I dind't mean for my post to be one long paragraph! I had it broken up into three paragraph's but my formating wasn't retained for some reason!
  14. Purchased EuroWings' BAe 146 (the solo package, not the Commuter Airliners package)from Simware a couple of days ago. I noticed a weird problem after loading a 146-200 with the EFIS panel. Within the VSI gauge I can see several TCAS symbols and the words "TA ONLY". I've only skimmed over the user manual at this point and didn't see anything mentioned about the BAe 146 in this package having a TCAS display. Has anyone else seen this? Could a TCAS gauge for another aircraft be causing a problem with the VSI on the EuroWings' BAe 146 EFIS panel? I've never seen something like this before but I guess it isn't outside the range of possibility... The more important question, of course, is how to correct the problem other than flying only with the analog panel... Speaking of which, I'd be tempted to switch to Matthias Lieberecht's outstanding BAe 146 panel for FS2004 if EuroWings' BAe 146 didn't come with the same FMC that came with Dreamfleet's B737-400 for FS2002... I was somewhat surprised that EuroWings' BAe 146 didn't come with a VC. I thought pretty much all FS2004 payware aircraft did. Still, for $16, I'm not complaining...it'll keep me happy until Quality Wings releases it's BAe 146 package... In the meantime, though, I could use some help resolving this odd problem...
  15. Can anyone tell me where I still might be able to find Christian Stock's Cook Island Scenery for FS2004? The author thought simMarket still had it for sale, but it doesn't (I couldn't find it there at any rate). Without it, I can't use several of Lawrie Roache's Cook Island airports (airstrips in several cases)that I stumbled upon a few days ago. Only NCRG and NCAI work well enough with the Default scenery to use without the Cook Islands Scenery...
  16. Listen, Jack (i.e., K.S. Weber), I wasn't doing anything of the sort. I was merely commenting on the fact that there hadn't been anything posted lately on the subject by ANYONE. As far as Shez goes, I wasn't trying to give him a hard time (or twist his arm) by any means either. Quite the contrary, I was trying to give him some support on the issue since no one else (including you) were offering him any support. You might want to think twice before jumping down someone's throat the handle like that...
  17. Hum...nothing posted in nearly two weeks...not a good sign...still, I know Shez will eventually resolve the problem (Go Shez!)!
  18. I forgot to mention, Shez, I do see the FedEx trucks in ONT2012, but like the catering trucks at the gates, no textures. The textures for the FedEx trucks in ONT2006, however, load just fine.
  19. Tried the additional files, Shez. Unfortunately, they didn't fix the problem at all...I'm reverting back to ONT2006,at least for the time being (loads faster on my old system anyway)... Scott
  20. How does one view attached images on a post?
  21. Shez, I took another look and can confirm that the textures of none of the catering/service trucks at Terminal 2 and 4 are loading. I also noticed that the textures for the external stairways at all gates are not loading as well. Either the lower or upper steps show up as a white rectangles (such as at Gates 208 and 404). Scott
  22. Outstanding scenery as usual Shez! My only problem (as mentioned in a email I just sent you (forgot to check here first!), is that the textures for the service vehicles (at least the catering trucks) aren't loading (or are missing?). Has anyone else had this problem? Maybe its being caused by the dinosaur of a computer I'm running FS9 on...(if it is I might have to go back to ONT2006 until I can upgrade my system)...
  23. Does anyone know if there is a scenery file for this airport (KCRQ) available anywhere (I couldn't find anything in AVSIM's file library)?
  24. Bad news, Joe. It didn't work on FS9 (I'm assuming it won't work on FS2002 either). The "About Microsoft Flight Simulator" window still shows shows Product ID: Error. What now?
