  1. Well, I suppose that might be possible, but I only installed the card less than a year (only 6 to 8 months) ago. I don't think there has been enough time for that much dust to have accumlated on it....Scott
  2. Since when does a personal attack constitute a good argument for switching from the PMDG 737 to the iFly 737?!
  3. Well, for one thing, just how long has it been since PMDG promised a FSX version?! Has anyone seen it for sale anywhere or even seen a screen shot of it over two years since FSX was released? Secondly, Wilco, on the other hand, was quick to come out with a FSX version of it's 737PIC title.I wasn't aware that personal attacks were allowed on an AVSIM forum....
  4. From the simple fact that there's been no word from PMDG about when the "NGX" is going to be released that I've heard of since they announced it years ago....
  5. What's so funny, in either case? The second case in particular. PMDG's 737 titles have been out, what?, six years at least? FSX has been out about 4 years, right? Given that FSX has been out as long as it has you'd think that if PMDG was going to release a FSX version, they'd done it by now (I think they stated their intention to do so some time ago but have yet to make good on that promise). I think the recent announcement of the pending release of Microsoft Flight makes it even more unlikely that we'll see a FSX version of PMDG's 737NG...there's nothing at all funny about that.Yes, basing iFly's quality on screenshots is valid as well since the quality of the screen shots gives one at least a basic indication of the quality they can expect the overall product to be. Nothing "funny" about that either...
  6. Thanks, kindly, for the tips! Hum...I could have sworn that back when I got FS2004 (in 2006?) that some one had told me that there was a box you could check somewhere in FS2004's options screens which would cause FS2004 to startup with the selected default flight, bypassing the normal startup screen...maybe I was just having a senior moment...a bit early, I'm only 54, but you never know (G)! That or I'm confusing FS2002 with FS2004? Actually, come to think of it, I seem to recall FS2004 initially starting up with the selected default flight. Another senior moment?
  7. The screen shots for Chicago and Orly are *really* impressive! While I usually prefer freeware scenery (don't we all!) both look like they are worth every penny! The system requirements for Orly would be somewhat taxing on my system being that its only a 2.2 GHz system. It does have 2Gb of ram and a 512k graphics card (GeForce 7600 GS) which might off set the slow CPU. I just might go with Aerosoft's France 2 package since my system more than meets it's system requirements. Since Charles De Gaulle airport has taken over as Paris' main international airport switching to it would be appropriate. I'd just have to update the FSNavigator flights using Orly to use De Gaulle instead...Do you know if screen shots for the KLAX scenery are available anywhere? (none were on the link above)....Thanks for the suggestions!
  8. It didn't occur to me to try looking for OKBK via a search engine! Previously I had only looked in AVSIM and FlightSim.com's library files. The only thing I found was an AFCAD file, no full blown scenery file for it. I'll try Google or Yahoo...I've been to the site of the above link as well. The file for OKBK it lists is the AFCAD file in AVSIM's library file...I'll keep looking!
  9. Thanks for the reply! My graphic card, a GeForce 7600 GS with 512mb memory. I wouldn't have thought with this much memory, overloading the card would have been much of a problem! What can be done to correct the problem (other than replacing the graphics card which can't be done without upgrading my entire system)? Would re-arranging the order addon scenery is listed in the scenery library do any good? In the case of both the Terrace, BC and the Newcastle default scenery, the problem didn't exist until recently. In the case of Terrace, BC the problem is with a static 737 whose textures no longer load. I found that one way the problem could be resolved is by renaming, moving or deleting the file for the static plane. The texture loading problem at Newcastle is with Ultimate Traffic AI aircraft which, unfortunately, can't be resolved in the same way...
  10. I seem to vaguely recall that the FS2004 startup main menu could be turned off and FS2004 would load the default flight on startup instead. I've checked the box to make a particular flight the default flight repeatedly but when I restart FS2004 I get the main startup menu screen instead. When I go back and click on the name of the flight I had previously made the default flight the check box is unchecked again. Have I messed up FS2004 somehow? Anyhow, if someone could please jog my memory on how to turn on/off the main startup window, I'd appreciate it!
  11. The Inuvik (CYXT) addon scenery seems have taken a dislike to any Tinmouse II B737-200 or to be more precise, the TM2's panel! Actually, loading a TM2 737-200 at Inuvik is no problem. However, switching to the main panel window immediately causes FS9 to crash. I've got no clue what is going on here. The problem hasn't occurred at any other add on airport I've tested with a TM2 plane...
  12. I'm looking for FS2002/2004 addon scenery for the following airports (to go with FSNavigator's round the world flights):OKBK - Kuwait InternationalKORD - Chicago O'Hare (odd that no one has released a payware or freeware version of O'Hare. Haven't found one yet anyway!)KLAX - Los Angeles International (Ditto!)KFPD - Orly, Paris, France (Charles De Gaul International would be an acceptable alternative)Freeware would be preferred (naturally!), but of course I would welcome payware if a freeware version isn't to be had..I'm looking for just the individual scenery for these airports rather than a package of airports which includes one or more of the above (though if the price was right...)
  13. Of late the textures of some static and AI (UT2) aircraft seem to be taking longer to load (in some cases not loading at all). Could something be be blocking or causing the textures to take longer to load? I have been adding a lot of scenery files and I wonder if this may have something to do with this. Two sceneries I've noticed this occurring at is the addon scenery of the Terrace, BC airport and at the default Newcastle, UK airport scenery (which would seemed to rule out overloading FS2004 with addon scenery, if this is even possible, as the culprit).I hadn't fragmented my FS hard drive for quite a while, but I did so recently to apparently no effect...
  14. I can't help but wonder why on earth the iFly folks would want to release another 737NG title for FS2004. Why should anyone get it, particularly if they already have PMDG's 737NG and 737-800/900? I've seen the screen shots of the iFly 737NG and while they look very good indeed they don't look to me to be any improvement over PMDG's 737NG titles. Not superior enough for me to what to throw away my investment in my PMDG titles and repaints in favor of iFly's 737NG.It seems to me that iFly should have developed its version for FSX where it wouldn't face any competition with PMDG (since it is beginning to look increasingly unlikely that PMDG will be releasing a FSX version of it's 737NG titles)...
  15. Hi, Shez! How are things going with the KLBG scenery! Still looking forward to it with egger anticipation! Scott
  16. Huh, I don't know where whoever over at flightsim got the idea that RW is over for good. In any case they're misinformed, RW is going again just fine this afternoon....
  17. I can't download RW at the moment from within FS2002 or FS2004 either, or externally via Active Sky wxRE (but this has been acting flaky of late anyway). However, ActiveSky 6 seems to be working ok...
  18. After installing the feelthere/Wilco CRJ-200/700/900 (Regional Jets Vol. 1) I got the 1008 cycle from Navigraph for the feelthere/Wilco CRJ to update the plane's FMS. On loading one of the CRJs I discovered that the cycle shown on the FMS is still the 19JUL03/18JUL04 cycle the plane comes with. I guess I did something wrong installing he 1008 cycle though I don't have a clue what I could have done wrong. The running the updates are pretty straight forward so I don't know what I could have done wrong!Actually, come to think of it, the dates shown on the Wilco CRJ FMS appear to cover a full year! This can't be right! Every other FMC/FMS I've seen shows the cycle info something like "29Jul10 to 30Aug10". If I didn't mess something up and the Navigraph installer installed the cycle correctly, how can I verify this since the CRJ FMS doesn't appear to display the info the way INI POSIT page as other FMS do?
  19. I stumbled across this problem a few weeks ago. Doesn't work in Wilco's 777 either. I'm switching to RealityXP's Wx500...Scott Miller
  20. Well, it took a while, Jim, but I finally resolved the problem. Initially, adding the zorder=90 line didn't work. I couldn't figure out why and gave up. Taking another stab at it today I dug a little further and finally discovered that the Map! configure had somehow installed two Windows= line for the Map! icon (one complete, one partial) in the 2D panel file. This conflicted with the VC panel file. The previous EZ-GPS_V4 installation may have contributed to the problem as well. I manually removed all traces of both the Map! and EZ=GPS_V4 installations to get back to clean versions of both files. Installing the EZ-GPS_V4 by hand then using the Map! installer to reinstall Map! to the PMDG 747-400's 2D and VC panels (adding the zorder=90 line manually) finally fixed the problem!
  21. Got it! Thanks, Philip! Just what I was looking for!
  22. Bob, where is that AUTOFLT.PDF file again? I just looked in the tinmouse_ii_v1.25 file and couldn't locate it...Scott
  23. Thanks, RJ!With 60+ repaints and counting either method will take quite a while (G)! But if that's what itl'll take to fix the problem, then that's what it will take!Scott
  24. Thanks, Bob. I'll take a look at the AUTOFLT.PDF file....
  25. Hi, PhilipThanks for the tip. Actually, the TinMouse worked quite well with FSNavigator other than the problem of the throttle control locking up on me (this has happened before, but fortunately with only 2 or 3 other aircraft as I recall). I'll try disabling the speed control, too.BTW, Have you experienced any problems setting the flaps on the TinMouse? I can't use either the F5 or F8 keyboard commands. When I try to use either the flaps start to move but immediately reverse themselves and return to their previous positions. The same problem occurs if I try to set the flaps via my CH USB Yoke. The F6/F7 keyboard commands seem to work...Scott
