  1. Am trying a RM-203 Gameport converter DB15 to USB. recognized by PC and requiring a driver. The Joystick is a Logitech Wingman Interceptor.. --- Win98 period.. Am looking for the CD for that device and/or an uploaded driver-- if possible. My e-mail: RLbance@AOL.com and Skype name: Rbance4107. Any response, even negative is appreciated. Thanks
  2. I remember in one of my solo flights ( Cessna 152), I had my first experience with CAT. The cause at that location was heath over the ground, [Hot air rising threw my plane like a butterfly] It was a moment of quick decision. I went up an extra 3000 feet, and reporting the location to the center. I was wondering whether there was a way to simulate that experience in FS9 ( FSX as well). This could add a bit of realism. If anyone knows such a setup. please advise. Thank You. Bob Bance
  3. Hello, After installation you will have Tacoma WA and cessna 172 as default. You can choose any airport and any aircraft to be the default. Enjoy !!!
  4. I would think that by loading the real weather for that location will do the job. ATC should follow this new set up Bob.*
  5. Thanks for all the replies : Yes Direct x is installed ( first requirement from original installation). Like I said, FS9 works past the "fly now". The aircraft selection of an aircraft. does not seem to activate this window, calling the 'aircraft_viewer_bkground" from the UIRES, and of course the chosen aircraft 'floating around'. This does not seem to be a critical impediment. My estimation : While the selection functions is ok, it fails to call ,the video portion. My guess : some .DLL is not responding. The question is :Which one ?. From Win8, How do you turn On this compatibilty mode to XP? Bob.*
  6. Thanks, There were times where many responses will show. I still wait. By going to the UIRES folder and visualize "aircraft_viewer_bkground.bmp" that is missing. The next logic is the fonction of aircraft selection (manufacture/model.variation). How to verify that ? Must be some .DLL doing the job. Why is this failing in Windows 8.? All we have is a black background where the floating selected plane should be. The next step "fly now" opens normally and aircraft ( default or addon) is in place at airport. The problem must reside with Windows8, as FS9 has worked with other Win OS . I hope this is is the ONLY problem with FS9 and win 8.
  7. My brother , got himself a new computer with Windows 8 ( of course). After FS9 installation, , He no longer gets the floating aircraft at opening. (default A/C or add-on makes no difference). I have seen something like that with an Add-on AC. Any clues ??? Opa is no longer with us to point out. Bob Rlbance@aol.com PS- After FLY NOW.. everything is oK
  8. Thanks for replying., Mel, Joe etc... I have Flight Sim but no files there. Google points out to Simviation,, and still zilch.. So Ok to send at: Rlbance@aol.com. I think I'll also check the SDKs, and see if the gauge can be massaged to the result needed. I may have seen the panel lighting stuff. Bob.*
  9. My brother, a simmer, has poor eyesight, even with glasses. He flies the Baron 58 in FS9. I'd like to change the readout intensity in the Radio stack. I remember this being done in the Learjet 45, but don't recall where I saw the details. I won't mind changing as well the readout color ( red to yellow on dark background).; particularly for the ALTITUDE . Any ideas, references, tips or tricks well appreciated. --- We miss you, Opa !. Thanks Bob.* The Panel.cfg does not show much in relation to this matter.
  10. There are plenty of add-ons for FS9. . But the one to get is FScene4X, Gives your FS9 a new face . Matter of fact, it is also usable for FSX. Some one has also global change for the trees. If I think of other stuff , I wioll let you know. FS9 rules. Bob.*
  11. Thanks to all who replied to this inquiry, which I did for a fellow simmer. I need to link with him (Philippines), and get him on here and run the tests , suggested by Mel and others. I know that he has version 9.1. His problem baffles me as I do not see any relation with flight into a specific location. I will report later on findings. Thanks again Bob
  12. A friend simmer asked me for help. Whenever he flies ( FS9), any plane over Dominican Republic, his computer crashes. It does not matter the flight direction. How could that be possible?.. Boy, do I miss,David "Opa" from Texas. Any help appreciated. Bob.
  13. Since my original posting in my quest to a Mouse lens to facilitate my simmer group ,(over 60), I came across of a Javascript,( see attahment) that is apparently the ideal answer. While I know little or nothing of Java, I'd appreciate any help to put this package together, and make it usable for anyone in the Sim world.[ Enough to be called before or after FS9 loading , with a possible toggling F12 ]If possible, notify me by e-mail RLBANCE@AOL.COM of any comments. Thanks to All
  14. Hello to All,We are a group multiplyer simmers, most of us over 60 years old, looking for a better way to see the gauges on a cockpit. So, we are looking for a freeware, that will enlarge the view , enough to read the gauge numbers, just with a mouse swipe. We have located some "magnifying" softwares, that worked only on the desktop, no applications. Nothing fancy, just something attahed to a hot-key, will do the job.Any helpful ideas ?Thanks !!!Bob.
  15. We are a group of Simmers using FS9 on PC. Three individuals are interested in joining us, but are Mac operators.I wonder whether FS9 is availbale for MAC. If so , where would be the best place to purchase . I heard of BOOTCAMP, which will allow a Mac (with Intel) to do the job. Any information on the subject will be appreciatedBob.*
