  1. Thanks, JD. Will give this a go. I figure its cause I am now using a different email address, but can use the original via webmail. Is there a way we can let you know of change of email? Thanks, LeoWoking, SEUK (nr EGTF)http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg
  2. Dear JD and all,Merry Christmas!I've sent a couple of mails to you requesting a new release code - I know from previous experience that this has been a quick turnaround; however I've not heard back from you, and wanted to make sure that you'd received the request? It was sent from leo dot stretch at gmail dot com, but was registered from a btinternet.com address of the same nameThanks!Leo Woking, SEUK (nr EGTF)http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg
  3. >Andy (I assume that is your name),>>Please be patient. The staement said we would have positive>news, it did not say the utilities would be ready.>>Regards>Russell Jourdain (ANZ007/ZK-RHJ)It also said the announcement would be made over the weekend. Norman even went so far as to correct someone's assertion the weekend was over. I dont think patience is the issue here, its delivery of product/promises.Leo
  4. What happens if you try http://66.221.47.170/ - I've just tried here in the UK and i can get to the site fine ...
  5. Hello everyone, Does anyone know of an app that would display my installed scenery on a world map - I realised the other day when doing a short flight that i diverted to an airport that wasnt the default - I've downloaded so much good stuff that I guess I forget I've installed some sceneries . I got hold of LWMViewer, but it seems this lets you look at specific files only, what i am hoping for is a global viewer that scans your cfg/bgl files and displays the results on a map?Best regards, Leo
  6. I had this problem too - go to PMDG Options in the menu, and see whether the dockable overhead panel is checked or not... change it and i think you will be OK
  7. Thanks Doug - i think i will research a bit more into user feedback on this as there doesnt seem to be a demo, but it certainly looks like what i want...
  8. >That sounds like a big step forward if you ask me :)>>Too true. After months of frustration, policy changed, up and flying again in 20 mins. Its a great plane - totally recommend it and now that FSD have changed their policy on reinstalls, no reason to suggwst NOT getting it!
  9. Hi Everyone, and I hope its not too late to wish all a happy new year!I'm currently using FSNav, which i am very pleased with and use a lot, but i am also wondering if there are any Flight Planners out there (preferably freeware, but fine with payware) that run externally from FS? Only its sometimes a bit of a hassle to load up the old sim and plot my flight, save it then load up the flight.. I mean that doesnt really happen in the real world, does it :-) So, are there any out there that anyone can recommend that fits this need? I've looked at a couple, but as with most things, before parting the

    Piracy Reports

    >Ok then, lets hope it works, then payware companies can stop>using the ridicolously restrictive (to the paying customer)>security measures, which obviously are'nt working in the first>place>>Dan.You know what Dan, couldnt agree more. When i first saw this piracy campaign on the front page, i got worried for the reasons that Randy outlined - please before i get flamed, i dont use pirated s/w but had a "disagreement" with a certain payware company that a few of you from previous posts, i know have had similar misfortune to deal with. My concern was that they may now post my details as a pirate because, well they think i could be.After a number of heated discussions for a new licence, i was getting nowhere, each request coming back with "protection of software against piracy" with my final request to them challenging that as a legitimate user, who would have no benefit in supplying not only my key, but my personal email address, along with s/w i'd payed for (err, no thanks, its mine, dont want to share), it would probably be less bother and find a pirated version that would bypass any security mechanism than to request my licence key.Of course, this was NOT a threat, and was specifically stated as such; I wanted to put across clearly that their over protective security was a disservice to legitimate customers, and the whole security was negated by the ability of piraters out there to bypass in the first place. But nonetheless this company whose mission statement is to "Serve our customers and our community with respect and goodwill using the highest standard of ethics and integrity" suggested i was an individual who had no compuncture in using pirated software. i found this to be not a very good example of respect. To continue the analogy of the shop and shoplifter, that you know how to shoplift does not a shoplifter make. Knowledge is one thing, action is something entirely different Software houses must understand that over zealous security can act as a deterrent to the desire to purchase legitimate software, and certainly means i wont be using this company again given my experience. A shame, cause the product i had was really really excellent quality.By the same token, end users must be vigilant and not offer their purchased software to all and sundryRant over, Leo
  11. I've managed to run the update - although it says it updated successfully, (took ages too, couple of hours easily) when starting FS (which now seems to take longer than before, but maybe because of this), I get the following dll's as being incompatible and do i wish to load them;IACENC.dllIR41_32.dllIR41_QC.dllIR50_32.dllIYVU9.dllNow, it seems that whether or not i disable them FS will load just fine - I am just wondering if any of you guys may know what purpose they serve - these seem to be some kind of codec/filter dll having done a google on them. Seems they're not critical as FS runs without them - i hesitate to use "runs fine" as its clearly not !!Help- About shows 9.1.xxx so i know the patch has done something..
  12. 50.1 GB (53,871,517,206 bytes). So not the biggest. But also not the smallest :D
  13. Like these ?http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...topic_id=200903Strange... thats twice in as many days - have you downloaded or installed anything new lately? Mine happened all of a sudden as well..Leo
  14. Shocky, you star. Thankyou - all fixed and happy again!Leo
  15. Hi everyone,Not sure if anyone can help me here - basically this has started happening for no apparent reason (none that i can think of - but thats not to say its not a PEBKAC error :) )http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/84098.jpgHave any of you seen these strange trails before - i thought it may be a fuel dump, but its happening on all AI planes as well - and I'm not convinced there is a global fuel dump? Payware, freeware, time/season location - all irrelevant in that the error still occurs; so, have any of you people here seen this kind of thing before, and even better, know of anyway to fix it??!Thanks for help in advance, Leo

  17. >Jon's 146 is still available here--for free:>>http://arnz.myhost.co.nz/...which makes me think JohnCi - as this thread suggests, why buy if its free? Unless this has the Virtual cockpit.. i think i remember something mentioned about this in the arnz forums, which have now closed, btw - in fact, the entire site looks a bit dodgy at the moment if u read the news on there.. i suspect mr Murchison may have been tempted by the lure of profitable payware :-(But i ended up with the Aerosoft commuter airlines package - overall very impressive, Nice is really, really nice, BUT no VC - a pet gripe of mine, no BAE's with a VC...
  18. Hi Hoons,Have you disabled all other running progs? Kill as many tasks as possible (Ken Salters FSAutostart is very good for this - go to the libraries and do an author search)You could try going to FS safe mode - by adding -SWREND to the command line on the shortcut.. this will load FS into a version independent of the hardware, but before this, as always, see if there's a driver update and install that for your graphics card!!You didnt say whether this is just base FS9 - if not, try removing the addon scenerys from the scenery.cfg - you never know, one of these may be causing FS to bennyflip. If that still doesnt work.. any ideas anyone else :-hmmm ?
  19. >Who makes this Chopper? >Its the Agusta 109, as Hornit states, its on the hovercontrol site. Its a lovely heli, when i fly rotors, i just about fly only this...Leo
  20. I'd love to see a decent Avro RJ - PMDG style :)Leo
  21. Hi Victor,This is probably something you cant fix by yourself, I'm afraid - whats happened by the sounds of it is your ISP's "address book" that resolves www.website.com to the IP address - 123.456.789.0 for example, and it can't find the entry. You may be able to workaround it manually by adding the address into LMHOSTS (XP/NT/2K) - for advice on this look here - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...8&Product=winxp - otherwise, you may want to try using another DNS entry - try a google search for DNS IP addresses, and you may be able to find them. Course, it could also be a "glitch"!!!All the best, Leonr EGLL
