Hotstart the Challenger with XP11 or XP12?
Been flying it in XP-12 with, mostly no problems. It did CTD when trying to replay the landing but, other than that it works fine for me.. Anyone know if the HS TBM 900 is working in 12 yet? I know Toto has been working on it but haven't heard anything about progress.

What frustrates you the most about today's flight sims?
Me too. I got into flight sims in the mid '80's (and, BTW, I DO remember Sub Logic's ATP simulator....learned a lot from it) and have always been just a little behind the curve where memory is concerned. Now that I have a system with more than enough RAM and video RAM, I can't use any of it! A descent platform would be nice.

Very Confused
You guys are right; I set my trim wheel via the A2A Input Configurator and the plane is as smooth as silk. Since the A2A aircraft are the only ac for which I use the trim wheel, I think I am going to leave well enough alone for the time being. My brain (what little of it I still have) is turning into oatmeal with all these adjustments. I need a vacation. Thanks for all the help.

Very Confused
Don't use a lot of things like that but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks. I gotta tell ya, I'm beginning to wonder if all this FSUIPC stuff is worth the trouble. I finally tried a flight in the A2A C182 this morning and darn near killed myself! The controls were all over the place and for some reason, the Cessna trim wheel ,that worked so well before I began moving all my controls over to FSUIPC, jumps to full trim up after about half a turn. Trimming down work's fine but slow. But, as it stand right now, it's unusable. I don't know.

Very Confused
Yeah, I finally caught that after doing it the hard way a couple of times. The POV works fine now. I almost got it. Everything is set except for the Cessna elevator trim wheel. I originally had it setup and it worked fine (that's actually the only control I was using in FSUIPC).. Somehow I must have changed it while working on the other controls because I now can't get Peter's program to even recognize it anymore. I'm probably tired; I have been setting things up all evening. I'll try it again tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

Very Confused
Thanks Vic, Reading it now. FWIW, I have a CH Products Flight Stick Pro and CH Rudder pedals. Also the Saitek throttle quadrant, Cessna Trim Wheel and Switch Panel. Looks like my evening is pretty much taken care of. Thanks again.

Very Confused
Hi Vic, If you mean the little check boxes in the axis tab in the control menu (ailerons, elevator, etc.)? Yes......now. I forgot to do that before. And I have my throttle back after setting everything up in FSUIPC. However, when you mention disabling the joysticks (I assume that you're talking about unchecking the box in the Controls section of P3D?), when I do that, everything is disabled in both the sim and FSUIPC. But things work as long as the checkbox remains checked. Am I doing this right? Wouldn't surprise me if I wasn't. Thanks for your help so far.

Very Confused
I've been using a registered version of Pete's FSUIPC since he went payware many years ago and every freeware version before that. Unfortunately, that's kinda like closing the barn door after all the animals escaped; i.e. not much help to me at this moment in time and not the problem. What I need to know now is: How can I convince the sim that the throttle is NOT the yoke? Once I get past that little problem, can I then program the throttle and everything else through FSUIPC. I had this problem when I first installed P3D and don't remember how I fixed it but fix it, I did.

Very Confused
I've been flying P3D v3 for about a month now and, for the most part, I like it. Although it seems that I spend most of my time setting something up (which generally take up a good portion of the day) but sometimes I actually manage to get a whole flight in. I have the P3D v3 version of A2A's Comanche and 182 Skylane. Everything was running just fine until I decided to install A2A's 5_9_16 update yesterday. Now it seems that all my controls have reset themselves to default values. My Saitek throttle no longer works as it's supposed to and now every time I move it, it moves my yoke instead of the throttle. This happens on all my aircraft; not just the A2A aircraft. It seems that I had similar issues, not being able to get my throttle to work correctly, when I first installed this program but I can't remember how I fixed them. Any ideas? Thanks....

Lear 35A Phugoid Oscilation at FL430
Interesting. Takes me back to my old aircraft building days (waaaay back in the day). I might give it a try. Thanks for the link.

Lear 35A Phugoid Oscilation at FL430
I get the same thing using v2.6 and in P3D; flying at FL430, at about mach .780 and using AS16 and ASCA. There were active thunderstorms in the area and I suspect the oscillations may be a result of sudden changes in barometric pressure due to the storms. Just an update in case anyone is interested.

New to Prepar3d and some Questions
Thanks guys. I'm committed now anyway so onward and upward! Finished downloading all my Orbx scenery late last night and will be installing tonight. Hope to get into the air tomorrow if I can get my throttle to work. Geez...I've been a flightsimmer for over 30 years; you'd think I would have gotten the hang of it by now eh? Thanks again fellas.

New to Prepar3d and some Questions
Nah...need to download the scenery all over again for v3. I was hoping to be able to do what you suggested but...... Oh well.... I'm beginning to wonder if P3D is worth all the trouble. Thanks though.

New to Prepar3d and some Questions
Hehe...yeah, I'm downloading the new Orbx installers for P3D v3 now. At this rate, I should have it all installed about next January or so.

New to Prepar3d and some Questions
I finally took the plunge and moved up (I hope) from FSX to Prepar3d v3 yesterday and I have a few questions. First: What is the migration tool supposed to do? I purchased a copy and read the manual and I'm still confused about what it actually does. Second: I have a Saitek throttle quadrant and, for some reason, P3d seems to see it as some kind of steering device and I can't get it work. Works just fine in FSX. Third: I have a lot of Orbx scenery in FSX. Is it necessary to reinstall the whole thing (global, vectors, airports, etc.) in P3D? Or, is that something the migration tool is supposed to help with?

Lear 35A Phugoid Oscilation at FL430
I forgot to mention (I keep doing this) that I'm flying the Lear in FSX. Sorry.

Lear 35A Phugoid Oscilation at FL430
Well I actually let it go for awhile before hitting the ALT/SEL button the second time and all it does is continue to oscillate between 1000 and -1000 on the VSI. It doesn't seem to get worse than that but I got the impression that if I were to let it go, it would have probably continued but I could have probably finished the flight BTW, I have been flying this aircraft pretty much since it came out and this is a first for me. IOW, I have a feeling this is something that came about as result of a fix and more than likely easily fixed (these guys upgrade this thing about, seemingly, every 10 minutes or so). Don't let it stop you from purchasing this otherwise fine aircraft. It is worth it!

Lear 35A Phugoid Oscilation at FL430
I hit the Alt/Sel and it set it self right again but I can't figure out what started it in the first place.

Lear 35A Phugoid Oscilation at FL430
Hi, I have version 2.3 and noticed that, while, on autopilot and at level cruise at FL430, the aircraft begins a phugoid oscilation about 1000 feet up and down on the VSI. This happens after after flying for about an hour or so and when the tip tanks are just about empty. The only passengers are the pilot and copilot and their luggage. Has anyone noticed anything similar?

Lear 35 Center Fuel Tank Draining
Yes, I believe I have. Don't remember how exactly but I don't have that problem anymore and most of my flights involving the 35A start as saved flights. Sorry for not mentioning this sooner and thanks for your help.

News on DTG Simulator is coming soon!
Wouldn't it be just spectacular if they produced something......ANYTHING?

Lear 35 Center Fuel Tank Draining
My default flight is the FSX default 737-800, sitting at the gate with all systems off. It's been the same for years. From there, I have setup a situation where my saved flight is the Lear parked at the FBO at Chicago Executive Airport (KPKW). I believe I have the latest version of the Lear (1.7 if memory serves) and after reloading from free flight I have no problems.

Lear 35 Center Fuel Tank Draining
I'm not sure what you mean by this.

Lear 35 Center Fuel Tank Draining
Thanks for checking into this.

Lear 35 Center Fuel Tank Draining
I also discovered that the center tank "drains" only when I start from a saved situation in FSX (BTW, the center tank doesn't wait until the tip tanks are empty before moving fuel, hence my bewilderment as to where the fuel goes when the wing tanks are still full). When I start from Free Flight, the center tank will only transfer fuel when I run the pumps. I guess that will put an end to starting from saved situations for the time being.
