  1. Never mind, I found it after searching the AVSIM Library. It didn't show up on a search.
  2. Hello, I just reloaded my computer, and I forgot to backup a program that will allow you to park anywhere, and still get ATC Clearance for Takeoff. Does anyone know what the program is called so I can download it. Thanks J.R.
  3. Hello, Actually I have a G550 with a custom panel that I made myself. It has alot of crap on it, and it is heavy on Frame rates compared to other aircraft. But I'll try flying into KSFO to see what happens. The point of this discussion wasn't to brag or anything, but to get an idea of what frame rates other FS9 users were getting on a average with new computers. Thanks for the comments J.R.
  4. Hello, I just got my new computer, and installed FS9. I was wondering what kind of frame rates everybody is getting with all of these new processors out. I have all default textures/scenery with the exception of Koorbygen Lite (replacement building for North America). I flew around NYC for thirty minutes, looking at it from different view angles at an average of 35 FPS. All sliders are maxed out with the exception of ATC Aircraft which is at 75 percent. I have all kinds of programs running in the background (if anybody was wondering), and no I haven't begun to tweak Windows XP. 5. Hello, I just got my new computer, and loaded FS9. Let me tell ya I forgot a lot of things in 10 months. Anyway my problem is I have a 2D panel that has no overhead view (up position on the hat switch). I have added different BMP files, but none are working. I have checked the Panel.cfg, and everything looks correct. I even just for the heck of it turned the visible switch on in the cfg line, and the BMP showed up on the main panel. Does anybody have an idea what I'm missing or doing wrong? Like I said earlier I forgot a lot of things in 10 months...including how to fly my G550...but that's another story. Thanks J.R.

  7. I posted this in the hardware section, but seems everybody is talking about video card issues in the general discussion forum. I will be buying a new computer within the next few weeks, and I need to know what video card to get. I won't have alot of money to dish out right now for the video card (around $200.00 max $250.00), so I need something that will run decently on the system that I will be buying. My other problem is I don't want to get a video card that I will be having problems with such as black boxes in the scenery or "AA" issues due to driver problems. I have read different forums where people have tossed their NVIDIA cards for ATI. Any recommendations will be helpful. Thanks J.R. 8. Hello, I don't want to start a ruckus on this but, I've been reading other members forums seems alot of people have been having probs with the NVIDIA 7 series. A few people actually sold NVIDIA cards and went to ATI. I can't afford to buy a card that does not work correctly on FS9. The main one is if I buy it I will be stuck with it. So I can't afford to buy something that doesn't work, because I will have no place to sell it to get my money back. So I need information on a card that will work fine on FS9 without blowing a wad of money. Thanks J.R. Duda
  9. I have been reading through different forums in the last couple of days about Nvidia and "AA", scenery problems (black boxes...etc), so right now I am looking into getting an ATI. I won't have enough money to buy an awesome video card for my system right now, so I need something that will be okay/nice until I upgrade at a later time. I'll be getting an AMD 64 Dual core (SLI) 2 GB of Ram, ASUS MB. Whatever Video card I get I will most likely be stuck with it so I need positive comments. Thanks J.R. Duda
  10. Going to buy a new computer in the next few weeks, looking for a video card that will not give me any problems with FS9. Don't have much money at this point for the video card so I can't afford an ATI xt1800 series (I'll upgrade later), so I was looking at NVIDIA 6 series since the 7 series has problems. Does anybody have any suggestions? MB will most likely be an ASUS SLI series, with AMD dual core processor. Thanks J.R. Duda
  11. Greetings, I'm currently flying a G550 in FS9, just have a few questions concerning the aircraft: 1. What is the maximum taxi speed? 2. How many flap positions does it have, and what are the angles? 3. What is your normal cruise altitude/speed, and what maximum distance are you getting? Thanks J.R. Duda
  12. Greetings, Just flew into CYYC this morning, and I was departing this evening. Went to go get fuel, and could not find the refueling station. I have FSNAV 4.7 installed, and it indicates no refueling station. Is this correct, or am I missing something? Are there other airports like this? Thanks J.R. Duda
  13. Greetings, When an aircraft manufacture posts on their website that the range of an aircraft is XXXX nm, at xxx knots, at what altitude are they talking about? For example, the Gulfstream G550 has an Range of 6,750NM, at a cruise speed of 459 KTS. Is there a set altitude that aircraft companies test their aircraft for maximum range? Thanks J.R. Duda
  14. Hello, I currently flying the LiderDesigns Gulfstream V. I just did a repaint of the plane in black, and gray (for my own personal use). Not sure exactly what primer green looks like, but I can check over the internet, and see if I can find the exact color, and I will try to give it a shot of painting it (if you are still interested). Since we are talking about GSV, and you say you do work for Gulfstream I question for you if you don't mind answering. What is the difference in the body of the plane compared to the Gulfstream G550? I've been on the Gulfstream website, and I could not see really any significant difference in appearance. I know that they use the same engines (RR BR710), but the thrust level is higher on the G550. The fuel tanks are also large on the G550, and of course the longer range. Please if you can let me know if you still want the repaint, and the information on the G550. Thanks J.R.
  15. Hello, I just reloaded FS2002 Pro on my computer, everything seemed to be okay except my reverse thrusters are not working properly. I do get them to come on (all inications that they are working) but the aircraft (all aircraft) are not slowing down or stopping. I have changed settings in the aircraft.cfg files to increase reverse thrust, and nothing happens. I have calibrated my flight yoke with FSUIPC, and still no good. I spent 2 days reloading the simulator with all of my addons, I would hate to do another reload. If somebody can give me an insite as to what is wrong I would appreciate it. Thanks J.R.
  16. Greetings, I've been flying the Kingair 350 for the past ? years, and I just moved up to the Learjet 45. Fantastic plane, but the question that I have is are the N1, N2, ITT setings too low? If they are correct no problem I was just wondering. But if they are, can somebody please give me the correct settings (aircraft.cfg, lear45.air). Thanks J.R. 17. No Problem, I found the program, and downloaded it. At the same time I found another program (Radar Contact V3). I will try to get more information on it from another forum. Thanks again for all the help J.R.
  18. Hello, Thank you for the info. Going to download Voicepack, and try it out. Again Thanks J.R.
  19. Bob, I didn't think there would be anyway to change it. Thanks for the help J.R.
  20. Greetings, I have a question, and I have checked on the forums, but did not find anything. Is there anyway to contact the tower for landing clearance prior to 5 miles out. Here's the situation: flying into an airport in my KA350, and was instructed by ATC to contact tower for landing clearance. Tried to acknowledge handoff, but couldn't get to do it because ATC was instructing other planes to report aircraft insight, navigating...etc. Tried to just switch comm frequency to the tower, but was unable to do anything once I did. So now I'm coming in for a landing still can't acknowledge handoff, and I'm roughly 1 mile out (in this time I'm pressing "1" on the keyboard constantly to try to acknowledge handoff, and trying to keep aircraft on the centerline for landing). I finally acknowledge the handoff, and contact the tower for landing clearance. Sometimes (usually) when I'm cleared to land, I've either already landed, and turned off the runway, or I've overshot it, and do a go around. I have traffic set at 80 percent, and have tried it at 70 percent with no really big difference. However I don't want to give up the traffic, because that's one of the reasons I like the sim. Don't care if it's not realistic or not to change the distance to contact tower for landing clearance, I just want to be cleared to land prior to landing. Thanks J.R. Duda
  21. Check here in the fs2002 miscellaneous directory for a file that has a list of active runways for the Caribbean, Europe, and North America. It roughly has about 400+ of the major airports listed. I'll be working on the rest within the next few weeks, and when I'm done I'll post them. Outlaw2001it
  22. Most people are getting their aircraft from 3rd party vendors. The scenery could be alot better. Add more autogen buildings...etc. It's kind of boring when your flying around certain places, and everything is dead. No building's, roads, and the terrain which should have trees is lifeless. Add more mountains, and fix the altitude of them especially for places like Switzerland. I have looked at 3rd party scenery for places such as Switzerland, New York, and Hong Kong that are extremely incredible. If Microsoft is worrying about frame rate hits...etc for computers lets face it, by the time Fs2k6 comes out everybody will probably own at least an Athlon 2XXX or P4 1.X. If you do get frame rate hits, adjust the scenery display to better suit your computer.P4 1.7256MB SDRAMRadeon 9700 se80GB HDNext ComputerAMD 2700 if not faster1GB 400MHZ SDRAMVideo card with at laast 256MB SDRAM80GB HD
