  1. I was disappointed with the TAMPA Reboot Package. Fly Tampa's Buffalo, Midway, Seattle and Boston packages have a number of animations on or around the airport grounds. The Tampa package does not. The trees, on the airport grounds, fade in and out as you travel around the airport. This was not a problem with the other four packages. I'm running W7 Pro 64 with an i5 processor so I have enought power and none of my other airport scenery has issues with trees. Not certain if I set the package up correctly (no problems in the past), but I have reinstalled it twice to see if it would fix the problems, but they still remain. I have also installed their first update to the package.Overall very nice representation of the airport, I have 20-30 flights in and out of Tampa over the past 15 years. It is just not up to the same high standard that they set in their previous releases.Tom
  2. The problem that I saw on my first attempt is fixed that sim now loads. My second attempt gave me a different error. FSP boots as expected, to CTD when the Dakota is loaded, but also no panel. I took the information that you provided above and broke into three files. The three files I created and their names were:PANEL.CFG (in the 1280 format)RXPGNS.INIRXPSTACK.INII then placed the three files per your directions in their folders and booted the sim. The Dakota loaded but it does not display panel at all in the 2D mode and in the VC mode it displays the panel but no gauges. I did not run the RXP Configuration Tool. I assumed that the ini files covered that step. One last question, does [Window 21] and its data elements need to be in correct sequence in the Panel.cfg file?Tom
  3. Over at the RC4 Forum and in the manual, look up the FSUIPC settings. I made the same mistake.Tom
  4. Ok, I had a problem, but I believe that the problem is very fixable and caused by me. Although I did not CTD, flight sim failed to load in it initial steps. Prior to failing it stated that I could only have one copy of FSUIPC.dll in my modules folder. Of course I only have one copy of the library in the folder. What I think happened was that when I ran the Reality XP Configuration Tool it linked to a parts of previosly stored version of FS9 stored in another folder and found a backup copy of my module folder. I even ran the Flight1 Registry Repair Tool but that did not fix the problem.Prior to installing the Reality XP software package I had created a restore point under W7. Once I reloaded the restore point everything again worked. What I need to do now is locate/search for all stored copies of the Reality XP ini files stored on my drive and deleted them and then reinstall the package. I never got to a point to see if a could run the Dakota with your configuration data.We have guests comming in a couple of hours so I'll try another installation of the Reality XP Software Package again later in the week.Tom
  5. SLuggy,I finally got a chance to reinstall the Dakota and the WASS430. I believe that all I need to do now is to the run the WASS manager and move your config information into Dakota Panel Folder replacing the current config file. Is that correct? Also I did take a short flight with the Dakota, but of course with missing radio panels, and I had no CTD with the basic aircraft.Tom
  6. About eight months ago I was flying a DA-20 Kanta out of KLVN. My flight path put me just southwest of KMSP. Although I had been looking around for traffic coming out of KMSP, I had a Northwest Airbus on final approach cross directly in front of me at about 200 yards. My first impression was WOW! My second though if this had been in the real world I still would have been in a world of hurt caused by the wake of the Airbus.Tom

Dave,A couple of things. There was/is a freeware version of VHHX called 9 Dragons. If I remember correctly, when you installed VHHX, the old airport, you needed to disable VHHH the new airport. I am not certain if that is a requirement of the payware version. Also, try loading VHHX in the number 1 slot in the FS9 Scenery Libary and then run FSNav DBC. You can always move the scenery later. You brought back a couple memories in one of your posts. For 15 years I ran a repair program for NAVAIR. You can't believe the number of time that I saw VIDMAF's that stated "installed XXXX no joy." I always thought that NAVAIR should have hired "Joy" just to reduce their cost of maintenance.Tom

Have run the FSNav DBC Program? When you add major airports/scenery updates to reflect changes in FSNav you need run DBC Program to update its database.Tom
  9. JD/Ron,The reinstallation did the trick. This morning I was able to plan, execute, save and restore a flight using both FS9 and RC4. JD, after the reinstallation I elected to request a new code and I had the new code within minutes. To both of you thank you again for your help.Tom
  10. Ron,I tried the Flight1 tool tonight. I have used the tool in the past with success with other problems, but it still did not clear the current problem. Tonight I deleted RC4 from my computer and I will reinstalled it sometime this weekend. I do have one question about the reinstall. When I did my original RC4 installation I received a code from JD. If I remember correctly after installation you request the code and it is emailed to you within a couple of minutes/hours.When I reinstall RC4 do I need to request a new code or will the one that I received in March of 2009 work for the reinstallation?Tom
  11. First off Ron thanks again for your help.Ron, although I had the RC4 properties found under the icon set as admin with full priviages, I did not have the shortcut properties it self set as admin. I made that change. The second task that you asked me to do was to review the RCV3.dat file. There was a whole lot of garbage found within the file, but I did see a line that read c:\flight\fs2004. That is incorrect. My path is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9 for the sim itself and C:\FS9 Program Addons\RC4 for Radar Contact 4.Again what I am seeing is both FS9 and RC4 are saving identical data elements in two different areas of my hard drive. Neither of the two areas are titled C:\flight\2004. I'll load up a flight later today or tomorrow morning and see if the icon makes a difference and I'll recheck the results of the RCV3.dat file.Tom
  12. JD,I have done that, numerous times, but no success. No matter how many times I change RC4 link to the FS9 default information, it still points/returns/looks for/ its information in the old data folder.Tom
  13. JD,I posted this question in the FS9 forum and recieved no help. I am uncertain if this is something that I need to change in FS9 or if I could reset a pointer in RC4 to fix the RC4 side of the problem. I am running Windows 7 Pro64 and although I select RC4 as an admin when I run it, it will not let point to the new FS9 path for saved files and weather. here is my prevoius post under the FS9 forum:About 11 months ago I purchased a new computer. At the time of my purchase I had the builder copy my previous data files into a file folder named old data files on my new C: drive. I did a complete reinstall of FS9 to my new computer. Over the past couple of months I finally reinstalled RC4 and made a number of successful short flights. Yesterday I needed to leave and come back to a flight that involved RC4. Later I could not get the saved RC4 flight to reload or to merge with FS9.After doing some searching I found both my FS9 and RC4 flights are being written to two different file locations. I see the saved files of both programs are being written to the documents file established by my current install of FS9. But, they are are also being written to a directory under the old data files folder. This morning I deleted the folder containing the FS9 and RC4 files written under the old data files folder and deleted the FS9 portion of the old data files directory its self. I then loaded my default FS9 flight and closed the program. FS9 continued to write back to both file folders. FS9 rebuilt the deleted folder under the old data files directory and filled it with FS9 flight information (i.e. logbook, weather, etc).My question: Is there a ini file or sonething similair that I can modify under FS9 to set only one path to comtain saved file data elements? RC4 will not allow me to continue a saved flight with the two different folders. I have reset the saved file path under the RC4 program, but no matter how I make the change it still "points" and the old data file folder.Any ideas?Tom

  15. Ron/JDI reinstalled RC4 it now appears to be working correctly, I am now receiving weather reports. To test I used both the default and payware airports and aircrafts. Both worked under RC4 in any combination. JD, thank you for answering my base question if it was possible to reload the ATIS portion of FS9 without having to go through a complete reinstall of the program. If you do not a solution about reloading the FS9 ATIS portion of FS9, then I most likely will need to reinstall FS9. Since I was having a problem with both RC4 and FS9 I thought that you may have seen a similair problem before and may have known a work around.Thank you both againTom
  16. JD,I understand the retuning of the volumne controls. My problem is with either the FS9 default or RC4 Weather ATIS active I am only receiving partial information. That is in example with FS9, at a gate or a runway, I should be able to select the FS9 ATC/ATIS option by pushing the "~" key. Some of the time I will receive both an audio and visual read back of FS9 ATIS report, or I will receive nothing at all. In the case of RC4 by selecting the weather feed back option I also receive a hit or miss reporting. I think that I may need to reload the ATIS portion of the FS9 software package, but I really don't want to do a complete reload of the entire package.Tom
  17. JDI'm still having a problem. ATIS will work with some airports and Aircraft, but not others. Using the FS9 disks, is there a way to reload the ATIS segment of the program without having to do a full reinstall of the software package?Tom
  18. Thank you. My focus was that the INIT Key was used for step climb. I now understand that it is used for both climbing and descending.Tom
  19. Ok, I'm still in a Boeing state of mind. Even after reviewing the FMC manual I am still not performing the required steps correctly. I'm at .820/FL350 and I would like to burn a little fuel off. So I want to slightly modify my active flight plan to reflect a .80/FL310 configuration. With a Boeing I could just go into the Legs Page and modify the auguments that I find there and press EXEC to imput the changes. Is there a method of doing the same thing using the MD-11 F-PLN Key.Please point me to the correct page in the manual. I have attempted to make the change using INIT Key for the speed (and it worked), but on the altitude side I have made numerous errors. Using other keys found on the FMC I keep seeing the "Not Allowed" statement. I select 31000 ft on the FCP and pushed/pulled and adjusted yhe V/S to a -500 ft/min and the aircraft descended to 31000 ft from 35000 ft. I then reset PROF by pushing the key. Later I wanted to set up my approach I went back and selected 3000 ft on the FCP prior to passing TC. Although I was expecting it to fly the fly plan, it began to drop like a rock to 3000 ft. I'm doing something wrong, I just need a push in the right direction. Again please point me to the correct page in the manual.ThanksTom
  20. I'm a rookie at the helm of the MD-11. I taken enought flights now take I'm actually looking around the cockpit. On my last two flights I notice a message that states Tail Fuel FWD (Fuel). Looking ay the Systems Manual I see this message as being information only at that no imput is required by me. Am I correct on that analysis? Also when VOR1 And VOR2 are automated they always show the same readout, that is VOR1 is reading 115.30 so is VOR2. If I were to manually select VOR2 to read a different station, would I still need to reconfigure VOR2 back to automatic selection prior to landing?ThanksTom
  21. Ron,Tried all three of your sugestions, but the problem still remains. If I load a default airport with a default airplane both ATC and ATIS are active (I can select one or the other and hear and see a response). If I load a payware airport and a default airplane after loading the default + default configuration about 60% of the time I'll receive ATIS and ATC. A straight to payware airport and payware airplane load results in a working ATC with no connection to ATIS. By connection/load I mean to imply I am able to load one or the other from the default FS9 pop up text box when you select the "`" sign.I'm now also looking at the payware forums for a possible solution.Tom
  22. Ron,Things went south again this evening. This afternoon, when I thought that I had fixed the problem I took 1 short flight from KORD and later a radio test at KSEA. In both cases ATIS and ATC work without issue. I then exited the sim for dinner. I also live in the area of KMSP and I like to fly GA's out of KLVN. This evening I attempted to take a flight out of KLVN and once again ATIS was silent. Here is where it gets goofy. I exited FS9, reload the program, and created a flight from KORD (default FS9) with the default Cessna with no flight plan. ATIS worked perfectly. I then selected another airport KMSP (payware BluePrint Simulations) with no flight plan and ATIS again failed. I then reloaded KORD with the default Cessna and it to failed.I'll take a look at your file links in the morning and see if I can work this out. I also ran the registery tool after this evenings failure, but I have not yet reloaded sim. With some problems, sometimes a "timeout" is worth taking to clear the mind. Thanks for your information and helpTom
  23. ATIS restored. Not certain why. I tried a couple of the ideas I found posted in this and the FlightSim Forums. The one that worked was when I buildt a new flight play under FS9, using default flight planner. I have not build a default FS9 flight plan in weeks, but this seemed to cured the problem. I have since deleted all of my saved flight plans, both FS9 and commercial, and will try to see if I can recreate the problem. Things I attempted that did not resolve this problem included an attempt to clear the FS9 assignments, reset FSUIPC, and running the Flight1 Registry Repair Tool. They may all work on another problem, but they did seem to cure the problem that I was having with my ATIS.Tom
  24. Ronzie,Any idea how I can fix my problem? Can ATIS be reloaded/restarted without doing a complete reinstall? I have disabled RC4 while I am learning the MD-11, but if I remember correctly I was also unable to get weather from RC4. The only new piece of sofware that I have added was Flight Sim Commander, but that should not bother ATIS.Tom
