  1. Jeff,No luck. I had already given full permissions to the file and attempted to run it as being compatible to XP and the Vista, but still no go. As long as I can reset the aircraft through its maintenace function the model shoulf ne perfectly flyable. So I'll live with it as it is. The 64 bit OS is still a fairly new environment and the Digital Aviation was constructed in either late 2006 or early 2007. Not certain if it is a high priority of many of the FS9 model providers to update their software to 64 bit environment. Thanks againTom
  2. Skotinek,Before dinner tonight I reran your instructions. This time the Maintenace log gave me a checkbox without any text. I checked the box and let the program complete it scheduled maintenace and ... it worked. I started one short flight, stopped the flight and reloaded the sim. On both flights the radios continued to function as there had in the past.Thank you for your help.Jeff I'll give it a try this evening, but I have found many FS9 programs behave quite differently in a 64 bit environment. Such as none of my Dreamfleet GA Navigation Radio work in the W7 64 bit OS environment and RC4 need to be configured a little differently. Basically the the Dreamfleet issues caused a piece of software that was developed for FS 2002 and its developer has left the FS community..I try your idea this evening - No matter how it goes, thank you very much for taking the time to post a solution.Tom
  3. Still no joy.Performed the steps that you recommended. I have the same problem with the undated configuration file. Under the configuration file I can see all options to the left, but the right half of the program is blank. If I remember correctly the right half had some aircraft unique options that could se set. The error message that I received said that I had the occurance of an unhandled exception. As the adminstator I selected the config execuable file and gave it full permissions and reran the program. Again I had the unhandled exception error. When I ran the maintenace program, after a short delay it came back and stated the need for an oil change, window washing, etc but no fuse or switch replacement. After performing all of your recommended tasks I left the sim, reloaded the sim and the aircraft, and still had a failed radio.Thank you for recommendationsTom
  4. It's back! I reloaded the sim and attempted another flight and again the radios are in a failed state. Reloaded the patch and the radios remained in their failed state. I attempted to perform the maintenance function, per the manual, but nothing happened. Since the D0-27 configure program does not run under my Windows 7 64 Bit OS, I expect that the maintenace program will also not function properly.Tom
  5. I got it working this morning. After it had quit work properly, I went back to the Aerosoft Web Site and downloaded their current version. After installation of the new package the problem remained. Their current version is V1.20. This morning I went back to the web site and further down the site is a patched labeled V1.20. You would think that their most current on line version would include the patch, but it didn't. Once I installed the patch the radios once again worked. Thanks for your helpTom
  6. A little more information about my problem. The circuit breaker panel, which controls all of the aircrafts electronics, is based on switches and fuses. The Comm/NAV Radio Switch keeps tripping. When I reset the switch the fuse trips. With this switch inop both the Communication and Navaigation Radios are worthless.Tom
  7. I can not get the Comm & Nav radios to light off in this aircraft. Looking at the electrical panel, I may have a blown fuse. I'm running Windows 7 Pro64 and the configuration program has never completely worked under my OS so I'm hoping thank the solution does not involve that portion of the software. All on aircraft functions were working until about a week ago. I have removed and re-install the software package twice, but the problem remains. I have contacted there technical support team, but Digital Aviation was sold to Aerosoft and by the reply that I received from their team I am not certain of their detailed working knowledge of the software package. Thanks in advanceTom
  8. I resolved my Eaglesoft issue by reloading one of their aircraft. The reloading of the C400 also "rebooted" the SR20,SR22 and the DA42. Also, it should ne noted that Eaglesoft got back to me within an hour of my post. Excellent Tech Support!I also ran FSM 2.85 to detected scenery errors and there were none, but it detect 15 Landscape errors. If I ran FSM with detect and fix landscape errors are there any addition steps that I need to take to reolve the 15 issues?Tom
  9. Ok,I ran Mr Greenwood's scenery utility and it detected 4 problems. I went in an edit the config file and reran the tool and it dected another problem. This problem was area 55 which was the Fly Tampa KBOS scenery. A review of the config file and it showed that neither Fly Tampa's Seattle or Midway scenery files were listed in the file. I removed the Boston entry and once again review the file "by hand" and discovered that another area had a mis-numbered layer. That mis-numbered layer tied back to the props section of the config file. After I made both corrections it now appears that as far as the scenery goes everthing is fine.My current problem is all of my Eaglesoft aircraft will not load or if they do load they hang and will eventually drop the sim. I'll contact their forum for advice.Again everybody, thank you for your help.Tom
  10. Opa, thanks I'll give it a try.Tom
  11. Thank you all,OPA, I have had a problem in the past running FSM and the patch under Windows 7 Pro64, but I'll try it again. If I remember correctly I should be able to get by the problem by selecting an older date. I will also take a look at Steve Greenwood's utility. One of the freeware add-ons for either Misty or Tongass misbehaved. It over wrote the runways of the Fly Tampa Seattle and Midway Packages. I must admit that the first time that you see grass runways at either of the airports it is rather cool. I removed the two most recent pieces of freeware and reran the Fly Tampa installations and everything was fine. I then added the Vancouver and Glacier Bay scenery packages and everything was still good. Added a couple of other freeware add-ons, from the libary and I started to see double shorelines. Reading the forums at FSADDONs, Flightsim, and here, stated that double shore lines is often times caused by UT. I then back out a couple of add-ons and closeout the sim to attend a family event. The next time I reloaded the sim, I decided to check the Fly Tampa Scenery Packages first, just to be sure that I still had concrete. Both KSEA & KMDW were fine. I also check by Fly Tampa Boston Package and found that the airport was completly missing. Gone with the wind, just a parking lot with 30-50 airplanes parked around an open field. I removed the Fly Tampa Boston entry from the FS9 delete function from the scenery library, deleted it from the FS9 Addon folder, reload the sim and shut it down so that the scenery.cfg file could update. Reloaded the sim and KBOS was still a parking lot.I then removed many of my freeware add-ons for Alaska and still had no joy at Boston. I then open the scenery config file and found that I duplicate entries and in addtion layer numbers that did not match the entry number. I deleted the duplicates, one which was KBOS and changed only the entry number for KBOS and the parking lot went away. I attempted a flight out of KBOS with a default aircraft and evrything worked. Later I tried using a payware aircraft at another default airport and I could not load the aircraft, but I could load a default bird. The payware bird was the Eaglesoft C400 and they use an upgraded radio system for navigation and display so I'm not certain that this problem relates to my scenery issues.I'll try everybodys recommendations later today, I hopping that I don't need to reload FS9 (again).ThanksTom
  12. Can the scenery.cfg file be deleted, like the FS9.cfg, and be automatically re-read and restored. I was removing a couple of pieces of add-on scenery built for the Misty And Tongass Fjords software and "things" happened. Looking at the scenery.cfg file, I have double entries and mismatch files and priorities. I may end up just re-installing FS9, but I,m looking for options.ThanksTom

    C185

I sent Carenado an email last night and this morning they sent me an updated Panel.cfg file and now everything works. Great technical support from the company. Tom

    C185

I just went out and reloaded a second copy of the software from the Carenado Web Site. I still have the same problems. I'm running W7 64 Bit as my OS so this may be a problem between the Carenado Software Package and my OS. I'll contact their tesh support group.

    C185

Bert,I may have a bad download. Please take a look at the Mini Panel (2D) and with tool tips on, tell me what you see. My VOR1 reads as Condition Lever and my VOR2 reads as Rate of Climb/Descent Indicator. In the VC mode both VORs read incorrectly, but they are reversed from the Mini Panel Mode. That is VOR 1 reads as Rate of Climb/Descent Indicator and VOR2 reads as being the Condition Lever. Thanks,Tom

    C185

I just purchase the C185 and it represents my 8th Carenado aircraft. Like the last two models that I purchased, the Arrow and the Archer, the 185 does not come with a 2D cockpit. Although I have adapted to the VC, I still like their "modified" 2D on final approach. Both the Arrow and the Archer in their modified 2D mode were a open screen approach with their gauges floating. This allow a great view of the runway on final. The 185 gauges are lock in a black background which is not very appealing and somewhat blocks the view. Is there away to eliminate the black background found on the 185? Also is there away to eliminate the "help" boxes found on the Archer and 185 modifies 2D panels?ThanksTom
  17. Guys,Thanks for the quick answers. I'll send a copy of your replies to to my friend. Thanks again,Tom
  18. First off I do not have FSX. I still run FS9 and I have been simming since the mid 80's.I was at a friends the other day and he was showing me his FSX configuration. His setup includes one 37 inch and three 19 inch monitors driven by Vista and a fairly large computer with a very large video board. The 19" monitors were crisp and clear, but not so much with 37" unit. Are there special drivers required to run FSX on such a large monitor? To me, many of the gauges looked slightly strange and while on the ground I often times saw flashes of light in the background. Also, his frame rates in the 2D cockpit mode were good, much lower in the VC mode, but the frame rates never rebounded when returned to the 2D cockpit. That is running in a unlimited frame rate mode the 2D cockpit and all views out side the aircraft were at 55-65 FPS. In the VC mode, the rates would drop into the 20-35 range and stay there until you either refreshed the scenery or until you clicked ok when coming out of settings/display/hardware. Any idea whats going on with the frame rates?ThanksTom

    DC10 & 727

Gerry,The DF727 runs great under my W7 64Bit OS. I had a small problem with the configuration manager but the solution to my problem was posted under another topic. Here is the link to the "patch/update" that fixed my CM issue.http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=20345 Tom

    DC10 & 727

In FS9 I always felt that the three best jetliners that I had purchased were the DF727, PMDG 747, and the Level-D 767. After I purchased my new computer, the only big jet that I am currently flying is the DF727. The other two will be loaded shortly, but for the money and the complexity of the flight model the DF727 is outstanding. That said, have you looked at the PMDG MD-11? I may eventually dig down deep in my pockets and buy it, but I'm a little put off by their asking price. I pulled down their AOM and it is huge, detailed and complex. It looks like a great simulation model and I may have to bit the bullet and dig out the credi card.Tom
  21. I also have the W7 64 bit OS. My framerates are great. My problem is that some of my favorite FS9 software have problems operating in a 64 bit environment. Run almost everything with sliders full right and I have my framerates set at 35 FPS. If I set the framerates to unlimited I'm seeing on average 75+ FPS.System specs: W7 64Pro, Intel Core i5, CPU 650@3.2 Hz, 4.0 GB RAM, Nidia GeForce GT-240Tom
  22. Benjamin,The Cheyenne, Do-27, and I believe the ATR models can be found at Aerosoft.com or at the flight1.com websites. They have a number of aircraft views included in their ads. The Dreamfleet 727 can be found at Dreamfleet.com, and they also screen shots available.Tom
  23. Gerry,Thanks! It appeared to work for the Dreamfleet 727, but it did not work for the D0-27. Again, the D0-27 issue is very minor and it only involves the upgrading of aircraft textures. Thanks again,Tom
  24. Gerry,Is this tool limited to the ATR aircraft or is a general purpose accross the board fix for Flight1 supported products? Also, do you know if the fix works in a 64 bit environment?ThanksTom
  25. Robert,Thank you for the heads up on the DF727. My earlier stated problem with the Do-27 is minor. The configuration manager allows you to updated the quality of your aircraft textures. The minor problem is that under a 64 bit OS the aircraft are not shown in the texture selection area. If you have the powewr to run at a higher graphic resolution it would be a nice feature to have working.By the way, if you have a 4 1/2 year grandson, the Do-27 is the best aircraft in the fleet. He loves the overall sounds and aircraft vibrations of the software package.Tom
