Many thanks to Stephen for sharing his "fix".Reverting to FSUIPC 3.93 (from 3.96) cured the problems I was experiencing with my PMDG radios.RegardsIanedit: I have just seen that FSUIPC 3.964 is now available. Maybe this will fix the problems experienced with 3.96. Any feed back would be appreciated.

For some unknown reason, the VOR information is not being correctly displayed on the ND.On the ND, the VOR information is showing : VOR L (or R)frequency (of tuned VOR)dme rangeThe IDENT of the tuned VOR is not displayed and also there are no VOR pointers on the ND.I have no such problem with the 737NG.I have heard that there may be a conflict between the PMDG 744 and FS Copilot (which I use). You are absolutely correct............Here's how it works (in XP):Start > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound RecorderOpen the required .wav fileEffects > Increase or Decrease volumeSave fileThe filename of the Sound Recorder utility, if you need to start it another way, is sndrec32.exeAll very simple and easy........when you know how!RegardsIan

Could someone please advise me as to how I can increase the volume of the cockpit call outs (V Speeds and RadAlt calls).In the FS9 Sound settings, I have Engines at 30, Cockpit 85 and Environment 60.In the PMDG/Sound menu, I have everything ticked and the slider at 70.With the above settings, the Call-Outs are barely audible above the engine noise and ATC chatter.Many thanksIan Oak-Rhind
  6. Hi allFor what it is worth, I am using nvidia 191.07 drivers + nhancer 2.5.7 with a GeForce 8800 GTS 512mb and experiencing (touch wood) absolutely no problems running FS9.1 with PMDG a/c.Ian

Hi allI only fly to airports with add-on sceneries............never (or very rarely) to default MSFS airports.My question is : will these fs9.cfg Display settings adversely affect the add-on sceneries and are they really intended only for the default sceneries??Probably a very dumb question but some confirmation/advice would be appreciated.   8. Dan.....many thanks for your helpful reply. I seem to remember being advised PMDG Support that one should always start PMDG flights from the FS default flight.However, I will try and set up the 744 in a cold and dark state, save the flight and panel state......and see what transpires!I would have hoped that maybe someone from PMDG Supoort might have been able to offer advice concerning my requirement to select the 747-400 TWICE before the Captain's panels come to life.   9. Hi allI am having trouble starting-up my 744 on FS9.1 and Windows XP.I ALWAYS initiate all my PMDG flights from the FS9 default Cessna at KEAS. Switch everything off and reposition to my chosen departure airport/gate.Once there....Select Aircraft.....PMDG 747-400. Aircraft loads up okay but it is nowhere near cold and dark. Packs running, fuel control switces set to RUN, HYD Demand Pumps all ON...etcetc.Switch EVERYTHING off. Battery on, start APU etcetc. FO panels show normally but NOTHING on Captain's side.The only work-around that I can find is: RESELECT aircraft (PMDG 747-400). This time more overhead switchery is all over the place. Shut EVERYTHING down and start over again. This time the CAPTAINS panels work normally and I am "go" from there.I do NOT have this problem with the 737NG.I have re-installed the 747-400 (1.1).......but the start-up problems persist.It is putting me off flying long-haul in my 744 as the whole initial process is so time consuming!I would be grateful for any comments/advice. Hi allI hope I am not going off topic here and I hope this is an appropriate place to ask for help!I am using a GeForce 8800GTS 512mb with nhancer 2.5.1 and 185.85 drivers (soon to be updated to 186.08).I would be extremely grateful if some clever person out there could possibly post screen shots of their 2.5.1 nhancer control panel to show me the optimum set up for my card/driver using FS9 on WindowsXP.On the nhancer on-line HELP page, under Section 4.1.1 Anti-Aliasing, it states:Combined: NOT for GeForce 8x000 and later cardsSupersampling : NOT for GeForce 8x000 and later cardsCoverage Sample : ONLY for GeForce 8x000 and later cards.On MY 2.5.1 nhancer control panel......there is NO Coverage Sample box. In fact the AA section looks the same as the previous version of nhancer.I am thoroughly confused!Any guidance/advice will be greatly appreciated. Many thanksIanOR

Hi allIs there a chance that some clever person could Post details of how to set up nhancer 2.5.1 using the new 185 drivers ?I am presently using the earlier version of nhancer (2.4.5) with 182.50 drivers.I am reluctant to change my set-up unless someone can confirm that there will be benefits.   13. I would be very grateful if someone could please advise me into which FS9 file I sould be putting the Des Braban sounds files. His read me file says:"copy all 11 files into the aircraft sound folder"Excuse my ignorance, but to me this could mean:1. fs9/sound or2. fs9/sound/pmdg/737NG or3. fs9/aircraft/PMDG737/sound (specific to each variant) I am pretty sure it will be one the above, but just not sure which !Many thanksIan

Hi allEvery problem that I have ever encountered with PMDG aircraft has been resolved when I select the DEFAULT MSFS flight at start up.If I try to use a saved PMDG aircraft flight............... that is when the problems arise.It can be a bore going through the process of resetting the time/date, shutting everything down on the Cessna, repositioning the a/c to the departure airfield, and finaly reslecting the PMDG a/c for the flight.If I do that EVERY time........my PMDG a/c work perfectly.Hope that might help.Ian

On the assumption that it is possible to use TWO VHF sets (L & R) in the 747-400, could someone please point me to the section in the PMDG Manual that describes how to switch between the two VHF sets.Easy to use VHF L. Is it then just a matter of clicking on VHF R (to turn on the yellow light) to make VHF R the "active" set and then re-clicking VHF R (to extinguish the light) to return VHF L to be the "active" set.If this the correct procedure, then I cannot find mention of this anywhere in the PMDG literature.Many thanks.Ian

I am really grateful for such expert advice.I have now purchased, downloaded and successfully installed the 800/900, plus the 600/700 model update. Before doing so, I uninstalled the 747-400 and then reinstalled it again after installing the 800/900.I am now looking forward to experiencing my trusted 737-700 with all her new improvements! Some make-over!Many thanks also to George for taking the trouble to send the TCAS Tutorial. I have work to do.......746......got it now! Thanks Carl!Would that people in "real-life" were so extraordinarily helpful and so prepared to share their knowledge as they are in our Flight Sim world.Thank you.Ian

CarlAgain..........very many thanks.I have just found this same Topic on the BAV Forum and the word from PMDG was : Quote:TCAS was added as part of the PMDG 737NG 800/900 package and also adds this functionality to the PMDG 737 600/700 when installed. The original PMDG 737NG 600/700 did not have TCAS as part of the package. To activate the TCAS after upgrading, turn the selector on the Radio Management Panel Transponder to the TA/RA position and then depress the TFC button on the EFIS control panel to see the range rings.SO...it look s like I should take your advice and purchase the 800/900 package and subsequently enjoy the updated 737-600/700 with TCAS. Also, I will be carrying out the correct uninstall/reinstall procedures together with relevant product updates.Btw.....what is the 746???!! Am is missing something here??RegardsIan (BAW0501)

If I do install the 800/900 service updates, will this convert my existing 737NG models into 800/900 variants? I am keen to retain the 737-600/700 BUT with a working TCAS.Sorry to labour the point, but I am still a bit confused here.Finally, if/when I do install either a purchased or updated 800/900 package........should I first UNINSTALL the 747-400, retain the installed 737NG, install the 800/900 and then reinstall the 747-400.Many thanks in advance for your help and advice.   20. Hi all...I am doing more on line flying with BA Virtual (BAW0501) and I fly the 737NG most of the time. However, a lack of TCAS can be a problem.Am I right in thinking that the 737-800/900 DOES have a workable TCAS which, when installed, will also provide the 737NG with TCAS??If that is the case, can someone please confirm :1.that this is the only way to get TCAS on to the 737NG (seems an expensive work-around!)2.If I do buy the 800/900, will I be able to install the 800/900 with the 737NG and 747-400 already installed on my system without creating problems?Many thanks in advance for any advice.....Ian Oak-Rhind

  24. Thanks for that Jason.I would also like to determine whether the mouse in Spot View will ONLY work with Active Camera installed. In other words, will the mouse work WITHOUT AC installed?? If so, how?!! I had de-installed AC 2004 and now I need a new User Registration key to activate it and I can't get hold of 'anticyclone' to get a new key.Ian
