FSX flight planners - a run in 2008?
Hi,Just a 'Penny' worth. If its freeware then all the best, there's goodcompetition tho; but if you want to go paywareand WIN, then inside FSX will be the killer. No-bodyelse has cracked it as yet?? H.A.N.D.

FSX Flight Planner - why it frustrates me!
Hi Ray,The really biggy for me would to be able to look at themap "on the fly". At the moment its like switching the sim off - observing where you are/finding out what frequenciesare required - then switching the sim on again !!!!!Thats why we are waiting for FSnavigator isn't it????H.A.N.D.

What else besides FSNAV...
Hi,Am I right in saying you really want a moving map/planner andnav system that can be used on the same PC in the same 3D window? If so - then NOTHING can compare with FSNav!!!!!

Hyperthreading and all that Jazz
Hi,Some interesting "theories" here. All I can say that If I do run FS9 on its own(Taking into account I use FSAuto to stopunrequired processes including antivrus)then yes - CPU1 is taking nearly all theload. If I run (via FSAutostart again) FS9AND ASV6 etc. I see a shared load?I've tried the affinity trick but the resultwas worse than leaving it upto XP to manage. So no conclusive arguments here apart fromthe fact the latest Intel duos take the lead - but for how long?H.A.N.D.

FS2004 and WinXP Optimization Guide V2
>Hi There Guys,>>You're welcome, all of you. :-smile12 And thanks for the great>kudos you have given me! I am very very happy to hear that>this is helping out because I actually spent a fair amount of>time making this doc up.>>And take heed of what JimmiG says, backup your changes, or at>least try to keep track of them so you can go back to the>original setting if something doesn't work out right or as>expected.>>>- A little story/info ->>Quite a while back I tried the 'System Cache' tweak I found as>a tip for MS Flight Simulator on another forum. It wasn't>pretty. I rebooted and and essentially received a message that>WinXP could not read the MFT, Master File Table. Yuck! In such>a situation even if you use the System Restore option you>can't get back into Windows to do a restore! Even people who>have not had a problem with Windows itself using this have>stated they had texture/image rendering problems when running>FS2004.>>I hope you all are having spectacular flights!>>JimHi,There used to be a problem with "system cache" with ATIVid Cards, but that was overcome. As FS9 uses a lotof files whilst running - I set mine to Cache yrs agoand haven't had any shocks yet! (usual ctd's accepted). H.A.N.D.

Hyperthreading and all that Jazz
Hi,Yes you are correct, as I state, its FS9 PLUS the 3rd parties, being mainly ASV6 and MyTraffic. If I am on the ramp doingnothing, both threads are active the same amount - I take itthat this is the AI planes and weather on most of 1 CPU andFS9 utilising the other (handshaking between the 2 accepted).Having said that - I think the P4 3.4/3.6 era was where thelimits were reached (I have 4 cooling fans in my rig). Dual coreswhere then appearing (1+1=2)?H.A.N.D.
