If the Romans had built FS2020 they would’ve had VR support out of the box. And a f@#@##@ helicopter.

Absolute joke that VR support for all headsets were not available on initial release. Almost as big a joke that’s there’s zero rotary aircraft to fly. Absolute insanity.
-
Summer 21? That’s completely outrageous.
-
Any news on helo’s? In particular I’m hoping for Pimax VR support too.
-
Funny but the vibrations start and then slow to a stop then start up slow to fast over a period of approx 10 seconds.
-
Ah. Ok. I’m flying the Nemeth Designs CH-47. Not sure if it’s labelled as helicopter or not. On the default settings the engines certainly do not behave as one. Any ideas?
-
Ah got it. Thanks. I’m trying to get the opposite with my rotary aircraft. The vibration gets more pronounced with increased torque (RPM in the sim as collective is linked to throttle)
Do you have any presets for rotary aircraft at all?
-
Could anyone give me more information on the following below please? In relation to engine effects.
exponential decay and amplitude

Looking at a previous topic it looks as though Chaseplane works ok in VR according to this user.
Can I confirm that when you add vibration effects, the outside view is normal, or does that vibrate too? It’s the problem I have with EZDOK. I just want the aircraft cockpit to shake but not the outside view.
-
I also strongly advise to have a demo mode. It makes a lot of sense for most add on utilities. I can imagine lots of potential buyers are put off by the high price if it doesn’t have the desired effect.
-
I believe you stated that the latest version would support VR. Is there a reason for the long delay?
-
The only reason I ask is that I only want realistic vibration effects in the CH47 within P3D 4.4 with Oculus Rift.
Its a lot of money to spend if it’s not to my requirements.
Thanks for any help.

Do we have VR support as of yet?
-
Same for me with the ND Chinook.
-
Thanks. 1080 at the mo. My other option was to upgrade to the ti instead. I have to admit that I’m more or less happy with my current setup, mostly maxed settings in VR. But my Pimax 8K will be arriving soon and I believe it’s going to need more horse power to run.

The 8086K will Turbo on ONE core if ONE core is active to 5 GHz, but it will overclock pretty easily to 5 GHz on all cores if you sync all cores. With some overclocking knowledge you should get it higher. Adequate cooling required of course.
4770K is clearly out of date as there have been newer platforms released, but whether you decide the additional performance is what you desire and worth the cost of an upgrade is up to you.
Manually overclocking isn't hard these days, lots of tutorials on the internet. And if you go for an Asus board, then the Asus auto overclocking tool, Five Way Optimisation, is very good.
Thank you and with this in mind, is it possible to upgrade the mobo and processor only and keep everything else, and all will work ok?
-
I bow to you superior knowledge. Thank you. My current CPU is liquid cooled and only oc’d via a switch on the mobo. I have no idea how to oc it further.
Would you suggest that the 4770K is out of date nowadays and that I should upgrade my whole PC?
-
Hi.
I currently run an i7 4770K @ 4199MHz (according to CPU-Z)
would I benefit much upgrading to an.....
i7 4790K stock 4000MHz (assuming it can be OC’d via mobo)
MSi Z87-GD65 Gaming
Thanks in advance

I’m not sure if active sky would be beneficial to VR users such as Oculus?

Doug is correct to point out that a good wx engine is important in creating a realistic view, but anyone that has flown over West Texas on a clear winter day understands just how clear and far one can see. Depends on the weather, so it's nice to have detailed scenery when flying on those CAVU days.
I actually prefer no clouds. I drop vis to between 10 and 20 nm and that is was looks realistic to me. It also means I can crank up the scenery textures.

Overly sharp, and plastic looking. Which FSX and unfortunately P3D photoscenery scenery often looks like. You’d think though LM could improve it. Instead it looks like it’s far worse.
Luckily the real word has glare, haze and a blurry distance to add to the ‘realism’ of living in the...well....real world.
These sceneries, and the future generation of wanting unrealistic, ultra sharp and ‘autogen to the moon’ visuals is killing the flight simulation experience.
I always fly with 5nm of vis. I love the fog effect in P3D. Mainly fly rotary low and slow

Thanks Ben and Howard. I will indeed create a new cfg. I’m pretty certain that a vanilla one will do the job just right now.

If you are getting blurries with photosceneries in 4.3 then you clearly have some issues either with your cfg or 'in sim' slider settings.
Hi there. I think you mean default 4.4 and you are correct. What an amazing difference. I think they may have finally solved the dreaded tweaking that we’ve done for all these years.

It couldn’t have come at a more convenient time for me. I’ve only just migrated over to P3D and was highly disappointed. But only for a few days. Lol. The extra time loading is well why it IMO.
MSFS 2020 - Let me know when it has VR support
