  1. As for the comment to buy P3D...  No.  I think I'll be stretching FSX as long as I can and see what comes of the Dovetail Flight Simulator in the future.  I don't see the point of going to P3D if FSX is working well.

I too paid 5 bucks on Xmas day and it's the best purchase I ever made. SE is awesome IMO. Very stable, no blurries, CTD errors, etc. I won't be changing to P3D anytime soon.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

  2. Hi Martin. I use a baseball cap on my head, loose.

I think you have your sensor too close to the clip. I know the sensor is supposed to sit on top of your monitor but if, like me, you sit quite close, then you need to position the sensor further back. I placed a small shelf on my wall in the mid-distance and all is well now.

I would suggest a distance of roughly 2 metres.

  3. I've managed to put myself through refresher training on the FMC, as I've had a ten year break from FSX. I'm just trying to plan ahead so that when I purchase the NGX tomorrow I can input my route and off I go, so to speak, Sans ATC for the time being.

A particular route planner gave me HON as the final waypoint (via UL612) for the arrival into Heathrow. Now I'm assuming, in real life, from HON you would be directed, by ATC, as far as as Bovingdon and entered into a hold pattern.

Without ATC to then vector me to the chosen runway Loc and subsequent ILS, what is my best plan of action in terms of programming the FMC to arrive safely at the runway threshold?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. I gave up trying to fly with the mouse / keyboard and figured I could never afford the hardware that I'd need to fly with relative ease.

However, after lots of web searching I've purchased the following at a cost I'd never dreamed of. Most second hand. Is there anything else that could assist me, thanks for any help.

    Goflight MCP

Virtual Avionics virtual CDU (iPad owned)

Saitek throttle quadrant with single arm dual handles add-on kit V2

    Rudder pedals (owned)
