  1. I do not. Project Airbus tends to take their time when it comes to releases. The A330/340 series has been under development since 2012 so I don't suppose it'll take too long but you never know. The wait is always well worth it so I don't mind. I've waited many years for a decent model, what's a bit more?
  2. That is the old Project Opensky model with flexing wings. Unfortunately at the time they didn't hard code the strobe lights to the wings themselves. As a result once the aircraft is airborne, you'll see the strobes in the proper place on the wing. On the ground, they will float around and there is nothing that can be done to rectify it. It's a huge petpeeve of mine as well so I've not installed any A330's into my FS9. I'm still eagerly awaiting the Project Airbus A330 which will have accurate Airbus double strobes among other cool features.
  3. Thanks for the comments everyone! I use a mix of World of AI and traffic that I tailor made myself over the years.
  4. Hi everyone, This past weekend I decided it was time to do another long haul flight, so I took chose my trusty old Emirates 77L and chose Galeão International Airport over in Rio de Janeiro as my departure point. Our destination for the day was of course the home of Emirates, Dubai. I flew the flight in real time using the same equipment and flight number Emirates uses on the real world sector and I tried to depart at around the same time the actual flight does (in sim). Unfortunately, as the flight leaves Rio late at 2:06am and arrives in Dubai at 11:05pm, a fair few screenshots were taken at night so I apologize in advance for that.Total flying time was around 13 hours and 45 minutes. Weather was provided along the way by ActiveSky and as always, all my shots are unedited. Parked at the gate, long way from home: Pushing back bang on time: Taxiing to the active with the moon behind us: Rotating, this beast almost ate up the entire runway: Flying towards the moon to our initial cruise altitude of FL330: Cruising along at FL330: Dawn at last high over the middle of the Atlantic: Dawn gives way to daylight: Just about to reach the west coast of Africa: Sadly, it's time to say goodbye to daylight: Top of descent: Short finals for Runway 12R at Dubai International: Puff of smoke: Taxiing to our gate: Parked at gate F12: And a quick airport overview to wrap up this series: Thanks for looking. 5. Check your payload and fuel levels. By default FS9 will load 100% fuel when you select an aircraft. Depending on your flight plan, you'll probably never need 100% fuel. Adjust accordingly and as mcgoldri suggested, you need to add some trim to take off with these birds.
  6. Wow, I had to do a double take when I saw the engine. Looks almost like a photograph (minus the watermarks!).
  7. As this is the POSKY 777, I just used the MSFS flight planner and used whatever route it spat out. Thanks for the kind words everyone! Some of the AI is tailor made by myself and some of it is WoAI. It's for reasons like this that I intend to stay with FS9. I can at least land at busy traffic hubs and find them populated just as in real life as opposed to landing at major traffic hubs that have minimal activity. Yes sir! The sky and all weather is courtesy of Active Sky Evolution for FS9. The sinking landing gear always seems to happen when AES pushes back the aircraft. It does look a bit wonky in screenshots but it's only for a few moments so I haven't given it much thought. Do you know what value I should modify the static_height field to? Appreciate the comments all, thanks again!
  8. Not EVO, I know that's a legit set of textures. I meant the "other" one which I found references to and decided it's not for me.
  9. Hey everyone, Decided to take a trip to Dublin with one of my favorite aircrafts painted in the colors of my favorite airline, Emirates. It was an uneventful flight with some wonky weather along the way, but for the most part quite fun. A6-EGO did the honors today, but unfortunately in real life the 1000th 777 stickers have long since been removed. Luckily for us in FS, we can still keep said sticker on. As always all screenshots are unedited. Enjoy! No questioning the dominant carrier here: Beautiful tail: Being pushed back: At some point while taxiing to the active, Active Sky decided Dubai wasn't hazy enough so it lowered the visibility for whatever reason. Here we are lined up and just about ready to go: Thundering away: Climbing shortly after takeoff: Here we are at our initial cruise altitude FL330: Puttering along somewhere over Romania: Top of descent as we near our destination: We're cleared to approach Runway 28 at Dublin Airport: Everything down: Terra firma: Such a majestic aircraft: And shortly after shutdown: Thank you for looking!
  10. Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by none that can evidently be named? I've been using GEPro for years now without complaints, but seeing the recent pictures of FS9Evo particularly at night, I'm tempted to invest into it but holding out still. Edit: Nevermind, not interested in supporting unauthorized work.
  11. I seem to have managed to fix it! What I did was go to the POSKY Archive and download the older Service Pack D for the 777 Series. I then navigated to the 777-300ER folder and copied over those files into the relevant Emirates paint I had pointed out above. Took the aircraft out for a spin from Dubai to Dubai with a full PAX load and 10% fuel to simulate the end of a longer journey and here I am on finals with flaps at 20 and holding 140kts: Much, much more normal looking. I only wish I had screenshots to show of what the approach used to look like. Long story short, if anyone out there ends up with a 777-300ER with the OSB773.air file in there, bin it and use the one I mentioned above. Seems to work far more better.
  12. I thought about that too but the exterior view shows the aircraft in a nose down attitude as well. Very perplexing! Perhaps you would like to try out the particular model I'm using and see if it does the same thing to you? The file is named emirates_boeing777-31her.zip in the Avsim library. It's a gorgeous paint by one of my favorite painters (Abdullah Rahman) although the problem should replicate itself on any SkySpirit 77W. Another example I have installed of this same model is air_france_boeing777-328er.zip also painted by the same author and also utilizing the SkySpirit model.
  13. 25nm out I start slowing down from 200kts to 170kts. I aim to hit 135-145kts depending on fuel level by the time I intercept the glideslope. I'll usually put flaps to 5 25nm out and gradually increase in increments. By the time I'm intercepting glideslope I'm usually at 20 flaps and as mentioned, just around 135-145kts in air speed. Depending on fuel, I'll rarely use full flaps down after a long flight as the aircraft is light enough to stop with brakes and reverse thrust. I usually engage the APP button on the AP just after approach hands me off to the tower which is normally around 25nm out. I've tried engaging the button 10nm out with this particular model but that doesn't seem to make a difference. As I mentioned, no other model gives me issues like this other than this 77W. Do let me know if i'm doing something wrong. This is pretty much how I've been doing my ILS approaches for the past many years. Thanks for taking the time to replying to my post! Appreciate it.
  14. Hi everyone, I've recently been in the mood to fly some routes with the SkySpirit/POSKY 777-300ER models. However, I've been putting it off due to a weird issue with ILS landings that I always seem to encounter with these models. To give some background, I set up ILS approaches and everything is normal right upto the moment I intercept the glideslope. At that point, the aircraft begins descending automatically, but the abnormality is that it immediately pitches nose down and carries on down the glideslope. I must add that the aircraft does not immediately lose altitude or completely nose dive. As I said, it maintains the proper descent on the glideslope but pointing about 10 degrees nose down. Almost looks like the aircraft wants to land with the nose gear first. It looks completely ridiculous and I'm not sure how to fix it. As far as I know, the models and their respective FDE's are updated to their latest versions. No other POSKY/SkySpirit model does this except the 777-300ER. The 777-200/ER and the normal 777-300 descend normally and I have no issues with them. I've been doing ILS landings in FS9 for years now, but this is so far the only model that's given me issues. Hell, even the massive Project Airbus A380 handles itself amazingly well from start to finish. I enjoy flying super long haul flights in real time so to get that far on the end of a 13+ hour flight only to end up having a horrible, unrealistic looking approach really puts me off of FS9. Some help or advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
  15. Decided to fly a short hop after months and months of not touching FS due to real life commitments. Good warm up flight and I'm hoping to pull another super long haul flight in the coming days, so I'll have more to share. Today's flight was the real life equivalent of EK511 using a trusty old 777-300. A6-EMX had the honor of flying this short but fun hop. Parked at the gate in Delhi: Pushing back: Taxing to the active: Lining Up: We're relatively lightly loaded today so it's a powerful rotation: Wingview of the clouds: Descending: Lined up, slightly nose up: Vacating the runway: Almost seems like product placement: Safely parked at our gate: Thanks for looking.
