  1. Hi GuysHere's my problem. I have a good high-end machine with 2Gig Corsair Gaming RAM and a Geforce 8800GTX GPU with a Intel 6600 Core2 Duo Processor and a Intel Bad Axe Extreme 2 Mother Board. I'm running FSX under Windows Vista Ultimate with all latest updates and drivers installed.I loaded the FSX 744F at KSEA parked at S10 Parking. I then loaded the default cold & dark panel config and started running through the procedures as per manual. I then took off and had a good 2 hour flight doing some sight seeing around Seattle and the returned to Seattle with no problems whatsoever. On exiting the flight I got the error message as attached in the 2 pics. Part 1 & 2. This caused me to have to shut down FSX and start all over again. Is this a know issue with Vista or PMDG, and if so, do we have a solution yet??Johan ViljoenCape Town
  2. Hi CraigI have been using the CH Yoke & the Pro Pedals for the past 2 years and all I can say is that I am enjoying every moment with these addons. The programmability of the buttons and the flexibility you get when using it with FSUIPC is great.I did however experience a bit of stickyness on the yoke after a year or so but that was easily resolved by adding a drop or two of very thin machine oil on the yoke shaft. The pedals are still doing great with no problems at all.I am seriously considering to purchase the CH Throttle Quadrant which will also add another level of realism to flying the PMDG 747's and 737. I am also really exited about the MD11 which will be a new challenge to master and with these addons I'm sure it will be lots of fun.Yes, you do get quite expensive yokes with great quality and build but I will only invest in something like that when I build my own home cockpit (Simkits stuff) for the 737 or 747's.I think that for the price you mention above for the CH products its a good deal, so go for it and enjoy!!Best Regards
  3. Hi JimFS9 can run smoothly but it really depends on the hardware especially the CPU. But all this comes at a price! It's Expensive!!! and I still could not afford the processor I wanted - Intel E6800 Extreme - Boo Hoo!Here is my Setup:Intel Bad Axe Extreme MotherboardIntel E6600 Core 2 Duo Processor2 Gb Corsair DDR2 Twin2X Matched Memory Pair 667MhzNvidia Geforce 8800GTX Graphics Prosessing Unit DirectX 10 CompatibleSoundblaster Audigy2 ZS Sound Card with 4.1 Quadrophonic speakersAntec Nine Hundred CaseThermaltake Toughpower 700W Power SupplyThermaltake Hardcano 12 Fan Control UnitSeagate 300Gig SATA Hard Disk DriveLG DVD/CD Multi System WriterSamsung Lightscribe DVD/CD Writer2x ACER AL1951 19" LCD Flat Panel MonitorsMicrosoft Cordless Keyboard & MouseCH Product Flightsim Yoke with Pro PedalsTrackIR 4 Pro from E-DimensionalWindows XP ProFS9 (All sliders fully open - lot's of addons. 4. Hi Guys & GirlsGreat to see all the different backgrounds!! Im 44, and I'm a Project Manager for a leading Networking & Reticulation company based in Cape Town South Africa. I am married and we have triplets. Two boys & a girl. (a little busy sometimes!!) I have been simming since 1999 and enjoy every minute of it! I really got hooked when a local scenery developer introduced me to the PMDG products, it's just heaven!! and as many of you say, the wife doesn't always understand but she is very supportive! I'm in the process of upgrading my PC to get the most out of FSX, and as many of you know, it comes at a price!!For the young ones: You keep on learning to make the sims better and us older ones will keep on improving your work!! (We have more experience!!) Just a joke :-lol Enjoy Life!!Johan ViljoenCape TownSouth Africa
  5. >Manny,>>This is a problem that i have experienced and i do not think>you can do anything about it except reinstall. What i do is>simply to hit SHIFT + P when it happens (as if i am stopping>the normal default aircraft pushback). This will stop the>plane. You can proceed on your flight from there. The only>problem is that sometimes, when i am already at 3000 feet, i>will hear "pushback completed..engage parking brakes" as if>the pushback just ended at that point. But that is a minor>inconvenience.>>AnthonyHi EveryoneI also experience this problem occasionally, and as Anthony say simply hit SHIFT + P to stop the pushback but also engage the parking brake CTRL + . at this time. You will then hear "pushback completed..engage parking brakes" and the pushback sequence will continue as normal. You can then continue taxiing and take-off without funny announcements at 3000 feet!! I know this is not the best solution, but until someone at PMDG finds out what causes this to happen and post the workaround, I will have to continue doing this when the problem presents itself.Happy Flying!!
  6. Thanks to everyone for the help. I can't wait to get home and try the suggestions:)Happy Flying!!!
  7. Hi GuysI recently purchased the Ch Flight Yoke and Pedals and I am very happy with this product. I have been trying to assign the TOGA button to one of the flight yoke buttons using FS key assignment option as well as PMDG key assignment options but with no success. I do have a registered copy of FSUIPC as well. I have searched the forum but could not find any postings relating to TOGA and the CH Flight Yoke. Can anyone help with a procedure or best method of achieving this??:)
  8. Hi There!Just loaded the new patch about an hour ago. I am experiencing the same problem as you are. The flight I used is the "cold & Dark" startup from KLAX - KEDW. This flight is used with the 747-400 Standard Procedures Guide by Jarod "Smitty" Smith. I hope this will help insolving the problem.
  9. Thanks TedI will do as per your instruction.Regards
  10. Hi everyoneI downloaded the latest AIRAC files from WWW.NAVDATA.AT and unzipped the files to my PMDG SIDSTAR folder. When I open the FMC it still shows me the previous AIRAC cycle dates. What am I doing wrong?? Is there another method of doing this? I am sure there are more simmers with the same problem. Please Help
  11. Hi BenI have experienced some authentication problems when the 744 was launched, but I must support PMDG when they say that they will help you. Every time I contacted support they responded within an hour of the complaint. So if you are having problems with authentication, please make sure that you enter your correct e-mail address as well as the order number.Kind RegardsJohan Viljoen
