  1. Harry I assume from your post about your Nav problems that you replaced the magdec.bgl file in Scenery\Base\Scenery directory of FSX and other files using the provided installer. I always backup this file prior to updating and have that file to put me back to square 1 if I need to. I have never had any problems with updating that file. I only use P3D V3 (now V3.2) and subscribe to Navigraph for NavData for each applicable aircraft I use. I notice on that homepage that you used to update your Nav data : Note that installer will backup original files that can be restored at any time. Why not try that option and see the result. Regards Noel
  2. Harry Regarding autopilot not following legs in the route having selected Nav button may I suggest and I assume you are using default Baron along side the fuel button switches (best seen in 2d panel) is the Nav/Gps switch. Put that switch to GPS position and make sure Nav button remains selected in the autopilot. The autopilot will will follow your route. When I first installed the ReaAir Turbine Duke V2 (I usually fly PMDG jets) I used to forget about that switch which when the plane is first loaded, that switch is defaulted to Nav.. Hope this helps and I have not mistaken your problem. Regards Noel Southam noels7
  3. Thanks for your response Ian. I had done all of that including MS sites before I posted. MS Visual 2010,2012(x64) installs supersedes much referring to error 481 I believe. Problem is now solved. It took 3 attempts to completely remove RC install from my computer including all references in the Registry. Reinstall and reboot has somehow fixed the problem. noels7
  4. Hi I am running Win7 64bit OS and have been using RC for years. Have just replaced HD and reinstalled RC, registered and run RC as Administrator. RC opens when selected but when I select General and.flt/wx tabs to set paths and select eg-plane data, pilot responses etc when I click OK button the following fault dialog box appears: Runtime error "481" invalid picture and RC immediately closes. All MS updates have been installed including MS visual ++ 2010,2012 Redistributable(x64). File MSCOMCTL.OCX in SYSWOW64 folder is registered. Latest versions of Makerwys.exe and FSUIPC are installed. I have searched Google and RC forum but have not found a solution to the problem. Any advice/assistance would be appreciated noels7
  5. Hi Kevin Thanks for your assistance. Appreciated I have used the scenario I described and am in the process of testing each afcad within P3D V2.5 and all appears ok so far. Regards Noel
  6. Hi Could someone advise where afcad files that normally resided in Addon Scenery in previous version are now placed in P3D V2.5. Would creation of Addon Scenery + sub folder (scenery) created in P3D V2.5 directory suffice for rs.bgl and cvx.bgl files and obj.bgl file in Scenery/Global/scenery folder.? Any advice/assistance would be appreciated. noels7
  7. Thanks guys for your assistance. He has a Radeon card and I did download Radoen pro to setup graphics in P3D V2.3. I must have selected it by mistake. Prize goes to Gboz - thanks. noels7
  8. No Fraps installed. I seem to remember reading about the yellow numbers some time ago but have searched google for no result.
  9. Hi A friend has just bought P3D V2.3 ( Academic). Installation went well but suddenly 2 numbers have appeared on P3D screen (left hand top). From what he describes they vary (frame/sec ?). How does he get rid of them. Only addons are FSUIPC, PC12 and full range of Orbx (Vectors, Globa, l Pilots mesh and all regions released to date). Any advice would be appreciated. noels7
  10. Hi Dave Could you check your pm when time permits. Thank you. noels7
  11. I have finally got RC working and will not be commenting any further except to say thank you Peter for your efforts and time spent. Unnecessary as it turns out. I am very frustrated and angry that (and that includes several now ex users of RC who pm'd me) who are confused by some of the responses of RC representatives. Their phrasing confused and how non english speakers were expected to understand them is mystifying to say the least. I suppose I should should quote them but I can't be bothered. noels7
  12. Ron RCD file loads (blue dots ) to 2 dots from right hand side and just sits there (10 mins now) although task manager says RC is running. I had also tried that before I originally posted. Noel Southam noels7
  13. Peter Yes I created a blank.flt file in (C:\Users\Noel\My Documents\Prepar3D v2 Files) prior to my original post but got the same result: (Radar Contact - C:\Users\Noel\My Documents\Prepar3D v2 Files\Noel.flt not found) Your response in post 20 indicated that the problem might be fixed by you modifying .dll file and as a result I didn't report the creation of the dummy file result. My apologies I hope JD might comment personally on the results being achieved by Radar Contact. Regards Noel Southam noels7
  14. Dan You are indeed having the same problem as myself. Peter As Dan (post29 above) I don't profess to be a computer expert. In my original post I said the following: Bold selections are additional comments or for emphasis. I save file(flight) option from within P3D V2.2. Save path for .flt and.wx files in Radar Contact options is set correctly. (C:\Users\Noel\My Documents\Prepar3D v2 Files) Rebuilt scenery db (in Radar Contact) has been actioned. MakeRwys.exe is updated and has been run (prior to running P3D V2.2). Latest P3D V2.2 FSUIPC version is installed. (Version 4.9.3.4) For some reason When I save a flight (Noel) the following files are created: Noel.fxml, Noel.rcd, and Noel.WX. No file named Noel.flt is created and when I attempt to resume a saved flight by selecting Noel.rcd (C:\Users\Noel\My Documents\Prepar3D v2 Files) file, ok a dialog box appears (within Radar Contact) saying that (Radar Contact - C:\Users\Noel\My Documents\Prepar3D v2 Files\Noel.flt not found).flt cannot be found and Radar Contact can be started from initial start point of flight plan in P3D V2.2. As a result saved flight cannot be installed/resumed using Radar Contact. I don't think I caused any initial confusion from my original post. Regards Noel Southam noels7
  15. Ron Registration problem fixed. Brain fades caused by nearly 2 weeks of World Cup viewing our time(0130-0800 hrs - YPAD) Regards Noel Southam noels7 Peter Installed modified .dll file (refer post 20). Problem still exists in that I am confronted by .flt file not found. What am I doing wrong? Nothing I do solves the problem. Do I have to actually be flying to safe flight? Do I have to create folder (profiles) in modules folder of P3D V2.2? Doesn't matter I still get the same problem. I think I have lost the plot. Further advice/assistance would be appreciated. I wonder if your .dll mod fixed the same problem that Dan George was experiencing. Regards Noel Southam noels7
  16. Hi Ronzie My apologies because this is off topic. I uninstalled/reinstalled Radar Contact which was suggested in a pm I received in an attempt to resolve the subject of this topic. That was 2 days ago and I followed the usual practice to obtain a new registration key. Haven' received it yet. Is the automatic renewal not working? Could you follow this up please as I want to try Peter's FSUIPC mod to see if this rectifies the problem. Many thanks for your anticipated assistance. Regards Noel Southam noels7
  17. Hi Peter and Dan Thanks for your input Peter. As per usual your genius and assistance prevails to help your fellow sim users. It would be great if you or someone with the necessary skills could produce a conversion utility. Can you explain why P3D V2 onwards changed to .fxml format? Dan I guess I will have to manage my flights as you are doing. Regards Noel Southam noels7
  18. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Radar Contact. Awaiting new registration key. Have also posted on Lockheed Martin's P3D web site. Will see how I go from here. Regards Noel Southam noels7
  19. I cannot find any option. I searched Yahoo using 'convert folder' and other variations of P3D -FSX convert flight plans but unable to find any reference. Maybe you have a link. Noel Southam noels7
  20. Hi Ronzie Thanks for your response. Paragraph 1 of my post stated that FSUIPC is updated for Version 2.2 and is the correct version which took into account the flight planner hot fix. Regards Noel Southam noels7
  21. Hi I continually have a problem saving a flight when using Radar Contact with P3D V2.2. I save file option from within P3D V2.2. Save path for .flt and.wx files in Radar Contact options is set correctly. Rebuilt scenery db has been actioned. MakeRwys.exe is updated and has been run. Latest P3D V2.2 FSUIPC version is installed. For some reason when I save a flight (Noel) the following files are created: Noel.fxml, Noel.rcd, and Noel.WX. No file named Noel.flt is created and when I attempt to resume a saved flight by selecting Noel.rcd file, ok a dialog box appears saying that .flt cannot be found and Radar Contact starts from initial start of flight plan in P3D V2.2. What am I doing wrong or is Radar Contact not fully compatible with P3D V2.2 ? I have even tried renaming Noel.fxml to Noel.flt but that just crashes Radar Contact and P3D V2.2. I have searched the forum but have not found a solution to the problem. Any assistance/advice would be greatly appreciated. Regards Noel Southam noels7
  22. Hi Dorn This link will help you: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/comdlg32.htm Note: On my Win7 64 OS comdlg32.ocx is in SysWOW64 folder instead of System32 folder in Windows directory as advised in link above. RC works perfectly on my system. Regards noels7
  23. olli4740 and jd Many thanks for your assistance. Problem is solved and will in future use(and tested ok) save flight via FSX menu. JD the .rcd files were not being created (see #3 above). Believe me I thoroughly searched manually in every recess of my computer. My .flt/.wx path was set correctly. Again thanks olli4740 and jd for your help. Appreciated. Regards noels7
  24. olli4740 Thanks for your response. I had already checked correct path and searched my computer for RCD files. I have found the problem. It appears that either left side Shift or Ctrl buttons on my keyboard is somehow intermittent when selected. New keyboard which is cleaned weekly when I vacuum house etc. After approx 50 operations of Ctrl + Shift +; all working correctly and RCD file is now saved by using said buttons on right side of keyboard. I will return keyboard and get another new one. Regards noels7
  25. Hi I am having a problem saving a flight using Radar Contactwhen using PMDG 777-200 and 737NGX. All other aircraft produce 4 files, 1 of which is a .RCD file. Using Ctrl -Shift-; 3 files are saved in My Documents/Flight Simulator X files which are: 300-56195-VRMM-OMDB-1$1.FLT 300-56195-VRMM-OMDB-1$1.FSSAVE 300-56195-VRMM-OMDB-1$1.WX From reading and searching Google and Avsim fora all 3 files should be as named and another file saved as .RCD file. Would be appreciative of any assistance/advice to overcome the problem I am experiencing. Regards noels7
