After a failed MSFS installation on a different drive in that case E: drive I restarted the process by formatting the disk C and reinstalling Windows 10 ver 22H2. This time I install MSFS on the main disk C the problem is that on the E: drive I have 2 remaining directories named Program Files and WindowsApps. I have tried to remove those 2 directories without success. If I format the disk they are still there and if I want to delete I don't have permission. I am not sure but I think those 2 directories where installed by Xbox. My new installation works great and I don't want to take the risk of damaging things. Anyone who has an answer I will be glad to ear Thank you, Gilles B.

Gilles Boily replied to Steve1969's topic in PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu
Thank you Stephen for your contribution to the flightsim community. I am using your first version of the driver with my MCP Pro firmware A17 Had to install a USB 1.0 card and finally it is working fine. Great job you save my day Here is my modest contribution: http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=169111 Gilles Boily -

New front page and mobile devices
Gilles Boily replied to ntrlsur's topic in Letters to the Editorial Staff of AVSIM
A real mess , too much stuff on a single page very difficult to navigate Gilles B. -
I found the solution: AirDisplay has to be run in Administrator mode and a small portion of the FMC window on the iPad has to be in the main windows. I looks like both windows have to be attached that way.Hope this help some of you and thank you for your attention,Gilles B.

Hi everybody, I need a hand to find out why my iPad connected via Air Display to FSX doesn't work with Windows7. I did a check on another computer running Windows XP and every thing work as advertised. It has something to do with Windows7. The connection seems to work OK because I can undock my FMC and move it to the iPad. The problem is that I cannot activate the FMC functions with the touch screen of the tablet. Also a tiny portion of the FMC has to be in the main monitor to reflect the changes I make with the mouse. It works fine if I use a windows7 application. If I move for exemple windows notepad on my iPad I can with my finger open the menu, save file etc...Is anybody has a similar problem ? I am running windows7 home edition premium, Intel I7, nVidia 560Thank you in advance,Gilles

Hi Jim,I apologize I should have given this info with my previous message. Here is my setup:FSX SP1 running on Windows XP Professional SP2-Processor Intel Q6850 @3.00 GHz -RAM 3.25 Gb (3Gig swith in booth ini)-Graphic: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 ULTRA with 768Mb-Addons: ASA, XGraphics, Ground Environment, Fligth1 Pilatus PC12, Flightsim Commander-Online with FSInn-Wideview is used to drive a client PC for lateral views.Note: Being retired I can afford to fly 4-5 flights per day at irregular intervals so I keep FSX and ASA running even between each flight. The total average 6-8 hours of running time. As mentionned before everything was fine until B406.Hope this will help, thank you

The O of M problem I had after the first release was gone after Version B355 and B394. Since I upgraded to version B406 the O of M seems to be back. For the last 5 days I had the problem and always at the end of the day. (after the program has been running almost all day, 4-6 flights averaging 1-1.5hr per flight) It seems data of some sort is accumulating slowly during the day until memory is filled. Can I re-install B394 over B406 ?Thank you

Installed the update today. Did four flights about 1.5 hour each. On the first flight after 16min of flying I had to restart. Received a fatal error message. Restarted and flight went ok. On the second flight after about 45min the sky became CAVOK suddenly. Weather report was correct but ASA was not feeding weather to FSX. It looks that simconnect wasn't working for ASA. The third flight was ok. Weather for the flight was like reported. On the last flight everything was right until I landed. I parked at the gate and after sitting there for about 5 min. while I was filling a flight report on my virtual company web site I received that infamous message: OOM Tomorrow I will try again
-
Same here, out of 10 flights I received 8 OOMs error. Never had this before. Today I had 2 more gig of memory and modified my boot.ini with /3G switch with no luck on the next flight still OOM message. I have a high end machine Quad QX6850, 8800 ULTRA 768meg running on XP and FSX SP1 on the server plus WideView and a client. With ASX I couldn't get the weather transmit to the client. I looks like simconnect didn't work properly. I upgraded to ASA and now it works OK I have weather sync on both display but I have this infamous OOM message freezing the flightsim on almost every flight. I lowered the settings with no success. ASA is no use for now. :( :( :(

Does someone has an explanation and solution for this problem: when view from below smoke and contrail are display correctly but view from above they look like a ribbon (see pictures attached)I have tried different configuration of my graphic card with no success. Is it software or hardware related ?My system: AMD Athlon 64X dual core 4600, 2gig ram Nvidia 8800 Ultra with 768meg Window XP Pro FSX SP1

Thank you Jim for your prompt assistance. I did setup ActiveSky and FSX to use both the system time and it seems to correct the effect of wind gust and turbulence. Also it has more effect on default planes. The addon plane I was using for my tests is probably program to be less sensitive to gust and turbulence.ActiveSky is a great addon for the flight sim. Can't fly without.:-) :-)

I did set AS and FSUIPC as mentionned and still no turbulence at all. The present home weather is wind gusting to 20kts heavy swow and low vis. Weather display ok but no turb. I was flying on line with a friend and he mentionned that he had very good turbulence.I closed AS and when I press "clear all weather" button in FSUIPC the weather doesn't change and it still display bad weather. Why the weather doesn't clear ? I have been trying for days without success to figure out why I don't get turbulence in FSX. I went through the forums, documentation and new install only to get more frustrated. The weather displays alright in FSX. When I used VATSIM weather I get turbulence I switch to AS for the same conditions and it's very smooth. I have FSUIPC4 correctly installed and registered. I have tried all the possible options in FSX, ASV6.5 and FSUIPC4 and look at different ini, cfg and log files and could'nt see what I am doing wrong. Any help will be very much appreciatedThanksGeeBee

Same issue here. I have a brand new high end PC with freshly installed WinXP, FS9 and DF BE58 with Reality XP gages. Sadly when using the GNS530 Garmin during specific operation like deleting user waypoint the system hangs and 99% of the CPU resource is used by ntdvm.exe even if I quit FS9 with task manager ntdvm still uses all the resource. You need to reboot to restore the operating system. The RealityXP software is a DOS 16 bits environement and ntdvm.exe is supposed to make it work in Windows XP 32 bits but something is not working right. I think it is a major issue and so far nobody came up with the right solution. I submitted this issue on the DreamFleet forum and I am waiting. Too bad someone has to use such a good product like the DF BE58 and leaving aside some of its feature. The first picture shows fs9 runing ok before activating delete waypoint function. On the second picutre after the delete function is activated you can see that ntdmv.exe take control of the CPU even after quiting FS9 shown on the third picturePlease help!!!! PS: English is not my native language please excuse my mistakes

Yokes & Throttles
Gilles Boily replied to a topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc
Hi,I completly agree with you concerning the lack of realism that commercial systems have to offer and in some cases of poor quality. To solve this problem I decided to design my own yoke, rudder pedals and throttle base on my experience as an amateur aircraft builder. I am in the process of building a prototype and I will post in a near future some pictures as my project goes along. I was away from the flightsim world for quite a while. I am waiting my new hardware I ordered last week and I am eager to take the air again. (AMD 64 socket 939 3500+ ASUS A8N-E 1G Kinston Video card ASUS N7800GTX ULTRA, 120 Go Western Digital Hard drive)I will use my old Logitech Joystick until I complete my yoke and rudder.CheersGeeBee
