  1. I have quick launch icons on the start bar to start both RC4 and also AIsmooth. It seems to work well for me.I hope this helps.Dick from Sunny Florida USA
  2. I had the same problem and I found the answer in the WOAI forum. I am running XP 64 bit and the automatic installer did not find the correct folder for either the FS9 or FSX. Use the manual install and type in the location of the directories and them it worked fine in both the FS9 and FSX. Without the manual install it attempted to install to the "C" root directory.I hope this helps with your problem. Let me remind you I am running XP 64 not Vista.Dick from SUNNY Florida.
  3. Within the last 3 weeks I had a new computer built and I purchased XP 64bit from newegg, oem addition. I can't comment about Airbus Series 2 as I don't have it. Still loading the things I want on the new computer.Hope this helps,Dick from sunny Florida USA

I read somewhere to do the following, AND IT WORKS!!.Don't start RC4 at the usual time. Get clearance in the usual manner with the FS ATC. After you get the clearance, get the assigned rwy and turn on the progressive taxi (arrows). Now start RC4. When you get to the point where RC4 gives you a RWY, one option will be to change the runway. Change RC4 to the rwy FS ATC gave you. Follow the arrows to the runway in the usual manner and fly with RC4. You can do the same thing at the destination airport after pulling off the active. Note, when you start RC4 you will have to change the squawk number. You can also use the program called airport chart guage. I hope this helps a little. I think using the progressive taxi options is easier.Dick from Sunny Florida USA
  5. JD and all,Just to let you know I have things figured out. In addition to the engine starting problem, fixed by JD's change of the menu keyboard assignments, I realized that the indication of the paused and parking brake being on resulted in the sim being paused and I didn't know it! That will make it very difficult to get things going. Once again I don't know what turned those notices off and how to turn them back on. Also, can someone tell me how to allow the "ganging" of the throttles on multiengine aircraft? My ability to do that apparently got lost. Overall, I'm getting used to hearing the "ping" as I complete the sample routes. Thanks again for getting me going!! This is a great program.Dick
  6. JD,I wonder it this is simular to my problem regarding the lack of being able to start engines on aircraft. I can start them until I start RC then they will not start and in at least one case I had to restart the computer before everything was back to normal. See the 9TH topic started by me below. Also, can I do a second install of FS9 calling the directory FS2004 and test this problem with no add-ons?Thanks.Dick
  7. Thanks JD I'll try that later today. I seem to have solved the starting problem at this time.Dick
  8. Thanks Ron.Update on my problem.I did find that for some reason, electrical failure was checked!!!I certainly didn't do it on purpose. I also tried your suggestion of elimination of the FSUIPC and no change so I installed the 3.81 version. The electrical thing solved part of the problem but I still can not start any aircraft either manually or with ctrl-E EXCEPT for the default cessna! ctrl-e is still assigned.I tried to delete the FS9 config, but there are two of them. One is a .cfg file and the other is a .txt file. I deleted the .cfg file and that didn't allow FS9 to run. I restored the .cfg and wonder if I should try the .txt file?Maybe a reinstall of FS9 is needed, but I hate to think about that. I still have not reinstalled RC at this point. Thanks for your help, I realize this is not a RC problem and I appreciate your time.Dick from Sunny Florida.
  9. Yesterday I installed and registered a CD copy of RG 4.3. The sample flights did not install in the flights folder. I manually installed them. After the install, it has been very difficult or impossible to start aircraft with Ctrl-E or be started manually. My FSUIPC is version 3.75. I uninstalled RC and reinstalled the FSUIPC but the situation still remains the same. Any suggestions? I have downloaded the FSUIPC version 3.8.1. Should I install it and reinstall the RC. By the way, I am running FS9 sp1. Is it possible I need to delete some config file? Note I am a rather new user of FS9.Thanks for your help.Dick
