I've been away from simming for about 8 months and just built a new rig but can't for the life of me remember how to raise the seat in FSX in 2d and NO it's not shift back space -that's for 3 d.I know eventually i'm gonna have to get into the 3 d thing but for now it's 2D especially when you can look at a cockpit that's shot with a Nikon camera.   2. If you are really into the Dc3 and are new like you say like i am go over to the DcAirways virtual site and join up. There's a lot of real Dc3 pilots over there. Watch al the videos on the Maam site under "free stuff" and then imply them to the sim and you'll see that it adds a whole new aspect to simming. The programmers tried and tried and tried again from what i read and could not succeed totally to get the 3 to slow down like the real one because of microsoft limitations, i but a can garranty you when they get it all redone top to bottom for FSX which i use they it will.You should go over there and have a look, they got their own multiplayer server on FS-inn and team speak and every thing, i never seen a site like it and i've been vatsimming for over 10 years.   3. Hi, can you fly in fsx in shared cockpit with this most amazing plane (dc3) cause i'll tell you some thing - i've gotten a lot of respect for those who flew these and still do. When you fly according to those real world videos coming in almost zero zero managing the engine properly for shock cooling and trying ti keep the aproach on the cross hairs being on vatsim flipping radio knobs and every thing else i'll tell you what buddy you got you're hands full with this tomato can. There's no pushing buttons on the mode control panel here, sitting back and flirting with some gorgeous flight attendent that you plan on taking to the motel when you land. If you can fly in shared cockpit i'd sure like to go up and get some pointers from a pro Louis
  4. Just got a gtx-280 1gb ddr3 pci-e 2.0 for xmas and right now it's worst then my 7950 i had . Does any one have one and set 1/2 decent so i have a starting point in the nvidea control panel - manage 3d settings? i'm running a 6000 +processor 2gig ram-raid zero and a year ago i got Mike from fs-gs.com and he set it up for me and never had a problem .Paying him for me was well worth it cause i don't have the savy you guys have out there.   5. When RD4 1st came out i bought it way back when. Now i just bought it for FSX. I just finished watching most of the videos and am impressed. Here's what i'm writing about. I'm making the transition from the Cessna 172 ( real world ) to the Cessna 210. The engineer is giving me training on proper engine management and is real fussy and hard on me to do it right which i like cause i am getting some real good training and he has showed me a pile of jugs in the garbage can at 1,100 bucks a jug cause of improper engine management and said " you pilots don't fool us , we know how you fly when we do inspections". At 20 miles back he has me starting to slow down , and you don't dare chase levers with this guy.If i am at let's say 7,000 ft and the mixture is set to the proper EGT temp he get's me to turn the mixture in 1/2 a turn no more- and then bring back the manifold pressure from 28 in. to 27in for one minute and he times it on his watch while we desend to 6,000 ft. and so on till we are at circuit height 3,500 ft. I know the 210 is turbo and the DC 3 isn't but how does the model handle engine management? cause if i know how this out fit operates it must be pretty close unless they got hung up on limitations by micosoft. When i 1st bought Active sky x a few months ago if i remember right they were working on fsuipc to make the weather changes smooth and were having a heck of a time with it but i may be wrong.This hobby is almost just a full time job now keeping up with all of it so i'm just checking if it has been corrected.Not a real big deal but if it is fixed i'd like to get the fix in . When i'm on Flynet if your over speed 250 knots in indian territory {below 10,000} you get dinged 5% on your flight and some times that's what happens and i get a spike and get hit with a 5% fine.   9. Let's see if i'm doing this right.The very 1st thing i do when i fire up fsx is clear the weather completely to clear skies .Then and only then do i start up active sky x . If i go on vatsim before i go live online i hit CAVOK then i go on line so then at least i think that now the vatsim and active sky weather can't have a boxing match with each other. Now here's what i'm noticing, like last night with the 767 level d sitting in Vancouver waiting for clearence . The weather on the active sky main screen when i put my mouse over Vancouver said winds 205 @7 knts, then the controller said to me winds 080@5 knts- wow so i bring up the weather on vatsim and sure enough it wasn't the same at all and going into cyyc was the same. Any ideas on this? Louis

Is this active sky x good or what!!!If i really knew about this xpax and really understood what it is and if it works on high quality payware like the ATR and the Level D 767 coming from this outfit i would get it .My question is, first i only run fsx and fsuipc is 4.20 but i noticed since i bought active sky x feb-08- when i'm flying like right now it's showing 8 cel and should be minus something or other and when i was in the level d last time at 30 plus thousand feet the temp in the panel was not showing a minus temp. So how do i fix that ?. And when i'm flying and have the xgauge on my upper screen how do i get the airplane to show in the same direction i'm flying ? Thanks Louis
  13. Well smart guy, it looks like that was it ,main page is on my screen . Don't know if any body has told you guys but, this is some good out fit you guys are running here.I never bought your program even though i always heard it was good but i just thought 'uh' a cloud is a cloud but man was i out to lunch cause there's no comparison at all . No it's not in the tray but it's in the task bar and when i right click and hit -open nothing happens but this was on my desk top7:45:34 AM Monday, February 25, 2008 - C:Program FilesHiFiXEngineModules ASX.DLL delete failed.   15. This is above my head. When you start up this unbeliveable good program, the main screen opens and the big blue banner also opens and starts to download the weather. I put all this on my secound screen. But one day and don't know what i did i fired up the sim opened active sky x and just the blue banner opened up and started to download the weather and the main screen never showed up , i tried everything and uninstalled and reinstalled and still the same. how the heck do i get my main screen back cause i can't even shut down active sky or any thing for that matter cause it just disappeared!   16. At the Seattle conference they said that they did not know when the 737-700-800- model would be finished being redone for fsx . And i don't blame them as i seen a few designers get in big trouble for promising what they did not deliever.All i want to know is there any updated news on this cause i've done a pile of reading for a 737-700-800 from other developers and i decided to wait for the PMDG model. thanks - Louis
