  4. Hi all, Installed Flight again but im having trouble with setting up my Saitek X55 hotas. Somehow im not able to setup multiple controllers. Either i have to use my stick or throttle. I thought this could be override with a setting. Second problem is that im unable to clear bindings. Hopefully someone can help me. Grtz. B.
  5. Lookin at the specs...im a bit concerened. The X and Y using hall sensors while the Z axis and the Throttle axis are stil potentiometers. Potentiometers = spiking after x while of use.
  6. Hooo...my written text is merely my thought based on articles i have read. Unless you still run a very old GPU, my advice would be: save the money and wait if Intel pulls a rabbit out of the hat next year.
  7. Not that im aware off. I would stick with the current CPU and if you are able do a nice overclock. You have the best CPU for the best OC till this very moment. I do not expect huge advantaged from upcoming CPU's. Intel en AMD are going green and we will see alot of new CPU implementations but no higher speeds. The CPU market for mobile devices has gone sky high and that is were the money is. AMD is pointing their focus on destroying Nvidia with strong cheap GPU cards and mobile CPU's, knowing that Intel is far too strong in the PC sector. Intel has no competition so there is no inovation needed. Concerning the CPU future i see heavy clouds... :(
  8. My KLM T7 is stil in the factory...dont want to commit aldultery to my sweet 737NGX. And i dont want to brake up with her. But i know myself, once i order the T7...i will absoluty fall in  . :( help...
  9. Bobykim

    I just...cant

It seems she is a little sad. See, she loves it when i jump into her cockpit to fly her around Europe and i know she takes me anywere i want. But now naughty PMDG has created her big brother. And she is afraid that i will leave her. That i will like him more than her. He's bigger, newer and more fancy stuff. I did not tell her how i drooled across the screen looking at the amazing T7 art. No...she my baby..i'll stick to her...for now...my little sweet 737 NGX. I love her.
  10. Hello, I just wanted to fly from Berlin to Zurich only to find out that my Saiteks Throttle quadrant is spiking again . At least i know how to open up the units and how to clean the pots, resolving the issue for another month or so. Im fed up with the poor quality. So its time to move on to another product and i saw the GF-TQ6-ADV Advanced Throttle Quadrant from Go Flight. Has anybody experience with this unit? Im trying to find deeply covered reviews but i cant find anything on google. The main part i would like to know is the inside build of the unit. Does the unit have pots (eventually all pots wear out), or does it have magnetics? If it has pots, is it easy to reach them and clean them? (Got two saitek throttle quadrants and to clean all pots which are six all together takes me about an hour). Greetz, Boby
  11. Thanks for the support. Unfortunatly it does not make it easier . FSX and all thirdparty software is installed on a SSD. Windows 7 64 is installed on separate SSD. MB is a MSI P55-GD65 Together with 8 GB 1600 Corsair Vengance (2x4 GB) and a GTX 580. The I7-860 is cooled by a Prolimatech Megahalems rev B push pull with Artic Cooling MX2. All is build in a Coolermaster HAF X. At front a 200mm intake, at top two 140 mm intake (forseeing the CPU of cool air) 1 outtake. At the back the regular 140 mm outtake and at the side 1 200mm outtake to get rid of the GTX 580 heat. Builded myself and the latest buy was the GTX 580 comming from a GTX275. When i go for an upgrade i will get other memory (depends on how to oc and how high i can go), the CPU cooler will be replaced and i will probably go for the Noctua NH-D14 push pull. Lately a dutch hardware site has tested air vs all in one waterblocks. Air is still the best and i do not want to go full water (too much hastle). I'm also going to test the EK Tim Indigio Extreme. But the main question remains...sandy or haswell. Right now im on 3,8 (HT off) so i want to get a nice performance boost when i decide to upgrade.
  12. Hello everybody, Momentarily im running a I7-860 at 3,8 without HT on air. I want to upgrade the MB and CPU. I allmost made my choice but after reading the Hashwell OC thread i do not know it anymore. To make it short: i understand that when it comes down about the OC of a hashwell, its about luck. All the hardware sites who's tested the Haswell I7 4770 did not manage to go beyond 4,3 / 4,4 but in the OC thread i read 4,8(!!). The I7 2600K does "easily" 4,5 - 5.0 depending on the CPU. I dont want to guess, i must be "sure" to achieve a nice OC within the 4,5 - 5.0 range. As for FSX it needs raw CPU power, but i cant tell if the Haswell on a lower OC speed (4,3) outruns the Sandybridge (4,8) because it's new internal arcitecture. Will somebody turn on the light for me please? Greetings from a very hot summerday in Holland. Boby
  13. Hi Scott, Thanks for the great explanation! Probably that was the reason i got all defaults back after a fsx restart. Im going to backup the files anyways and i'll let you know if it worked out for me. Boby
  14. Hello, Last week i payed a visit to the Aviation mega store near Schiphol Amsterdam. I wanted to buy a Buttkicker Gamer 2. The guy from the store who helped me was so friendly to open up the box to show me the banana plug problem. The pins of this plug are too close together so they do not fit into the red and black jacks at the back of the receiver. He told me he cutted of the banana plug, stripped the cables and connected the end of the cables into the jacks. While i could do the same i would loose my waranty. I have sent a mail to buttkicker gamer and received the answer that the plugs DO fit. AS i saw in the shop, they don't, even not with brutal force. Has somebody experience with what i saw? Greetz, Boby
  15. Hello, After flying FS for 12 years i have a noob question Im using the registered FSUIPC version for my control mappings. I use PMDG with AES and Pro Flight Emulator. Those three demand a lot of key bindings. To make sure i do not have any FSX binding conflict i want to delete all default FSX key bindings. However...when i manually delete them the re-apear after a FSX restart. Is there a way to permanently get rid of the default bindings? Greetings from a nice summerday Holland Boby
  16. I submitted a ticket at the PMDG support and they have sent me new tutorial files. Problem is solved. Thanks for the support!
  17. I will do that. Thanks for the help anyways! Im trying to figure out what happenend. All i know i downloaded a KLM livery for the Jetstream. I have red that this could lead into problems. That's why i reinstalled the craft in the hope it would solve the problems. Another thing i did was that i tweaked my FSX.cfg for better performance via venetubo's site. Greetings, Boby
  18. A lot of EHAM-EHAM's though and go's just to feel the airplane. I only fly across europe with the NGX tops two hour flights. Not really the kind of business for a tripple seven but this is going to be a must have. In the past (FS9) i had two moments flying about 6 hours till a nice bod shutted down my flight. So im a bit "nervous" to fly long distances.
  19. Do you mean if i set the GPU switch to "on"?, if so than yes, its on. I even hear the GPU engine ratteling. But still, no avionics. I have purchased this craft a few month ago together with the NGX. I tried the tutorial but i had the " grey flicker screen problem". I left it alone and moved on to the NGX which i flew for the last couple of month. As for today i thought: Lets give the Jetstream another try but i ran into this problem. I reinstalled the Jetstream without any luck.
  20. I would like to ask a question regarding the OP's topic. Im not able to power the avionics at all after i loaded the tutorial flight. I have batteries on / GPU connected. As i flick the avionic switches (page 17 from the tutorial)...everything is still dark. I reinstalled the jetstream but it stays the same. Somewere i have red that a recycle of the FSX.cfg will probably solve the problem. I dont want to do that cause it's full with customizations. Greetings for Boby K.
  21. Dont know with Intel anymore. Either the E version will be ridiculous expensive, or it's not oc-ing well. Intel should change the colour of their logo from blue to green. At this moment i wait for AMD. See what they can do with the Steamroller.
  22. At this moment i rebuilded my Flightsim cockpit back into my racesim cockpit (changing Saitek for my G27) cause i had it with FSX. After years of FS9 i finally made the move towards FSX. Spent hundereds of euro's on software and i only flew 1 flight. I tried to fly for three days and all i had were problems. The problem with all those different software parties is they put their finger towards each other. Im absolutely positive that no(!!) other key mapping exists within the default controller option in FSX. Im using Saitek: - Saitek Yoke - Saitek Rudders - Two Throttle quadrants Using the latest drivers and software. Within PMDG i do not have failure setting "On". Whatever...im done with FSX at the moment. I just want to game, and at the moment i do not want to resolve problems. Sorry for the fact that i sound harsh but im just disappointed in the fact that i have spent so much money on add ons and that i cant use them all together without problems. Cheers, Boby
  23. Hi, I have a registered copy of FSUIPC 4.90. I fly the PMDG NGX and somewhow FSUIPC give spike input to my parking brakes. Via fsuipc i mapped a button to parking brakes. First via FS input controles and i tried via key mapping. Even if i remove all parking mappings and buttons it still puts parking off...on...off...on. Drives me nuts. I have checked all control inputs within the controller options menu within FSX: i cleared them all. Thirdparty add ons: - UTX - REX Ess + Overdrive - UT2 - 2013 - Aerosoft airports
  24. Thanks for the answer Flo. I reread my problem and thought about it. I googled and i stumbeld on the FSX ingame mission planner capabilities. I truly do not know why but all these years of flying i have never ever looked at the default flightplanner, rather than importing a flightplan from FSnav or FSC. I noticed that im able to insert manual waypoints, VOR's NBS etc. So what i did for a test was: I created a flightplan in FSC including sid wihout star. Printed the flightplan and opened up FSX default flightplanner. I edited the flightplan and inserted the SID and saved it. SO i had the exact same flightplan in the default FSX planner as in FSC. I entered that same flightplan into the FMC. FSX does nothing with the SID altitude restriction i edited within the flightplan. That was okay for me. The main advantage was that FSX routed me exact along my FMC flightplan during takeoff and(!) landing. During my descent at about 18000 feet, it gave me vectors towards the active runway. ATC gave me descent parameter of 15000 ft, but i wanted to hold the plane at my FMS descent. At that point i canceled the IFR flight. Entered the star in the FMC and landed at the active runway. This example was from EHRD (6 - Arnem 2A) to EDDT (8L - Batel 6Z transition Lanum). I will try this procedure for my other airports: Zurich and Innsbruck. Nope, its not perfect but at least im able to follow FSX IRF flight without strange vectors that deviate from my FMC plan. The major advantage are the vectors for the active runway. Yesterday i tried with the default weather (2992), Today i'll try with real time weather, going back from EDDT to EHRD. As said before: it is possible to manualy edit waypoints to the FSX flightplan and give those waypoints an altitude restriction. ATC ignores these restrictions. Anybody got an idea why? Thanks for reading my long posts. Grtz Boby
