I'd prefer the A2A Boeing 377 Stratocruiser instead... There seems to be pilot's manuals lurking around as well.
  2. Here's a few links you might find interesting... Videos from someone tutoring FSX approaches for all of the History Channel's Top 10 Most Extreme Airports TV-show, and in this case, Madeira:
  3. The amount of complaining is directly comparable to the quality of the product. Even though single items of complaints wasn't at all relevant/correct. It's a usefull tool. :)
  4. There's also the upcoming 600 variant with glass cockpit. Though I have to say I personally don't prefer glass cockpits... :)
  5. I have the J41. Great plane. But I still miss my ATR :)
  6. I think it's about time some respected payware developer started a new ATR project. F1 ATR was really great but it has currently too many annoying bugs in its FSX port. I just love the way the F1 ATR flies. IMHO, it has the best "feel of being in the air" in it than I get from any other payware plane (yes, including those from PMDG, LDS, feelThere etc.). Just to make sure, I'm not talking about systems modelling, I'm just talking about the feel of actually flying. But all good things eventually come to an end. It seems to me that F1's ATR is there now. It served us great but a completely new native FSX version is needed badly.So... Mayby some aircraft addon company reading this forum sees this and gets a spark from it... :) I can only hope (while not holding my breath)...Btw, anyone else interested in a new native FSX ATR? :)
  7. As the topic says, how were flight plans made after ww2 but before IRS and FMS systems? During large props era that is... What would have typical flight planning included that time? How was weather planning, crew preparation/pre-flight reports etc? Just interested in this piece of history... :)
  8. Any Shared Cockpit experience with Aerosoft's Catalina? Does it work good enough or are there show stopper incompatibilities?
  9. In addition to maddog, which (complex) payware aircrafts have shared cockpit functionality? Are there any payware aircrafts you know are going to have it later (as an upgrade)? You know of any future new releases that are planning to have it? Just trying to figure out what planes there are for me and my friend to buy for flying together... Thanks.

  11. 1st thing to try: rename your fsx.cfg to fsx.cfg.backup (in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX\), fire up FSX and let it create you a brand new fsx.cfg. Then do the normal slider tweakings as you prefer. If you want/have to, you might do some manual fsx.cfg tweakings:[TERRAIN]TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=2000TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=1700[Main]DisablePreload=1[JOBSCHEDULER]AffinityMask=?If this isn't enough, then you're into some serious tweaking with a lot of trial/error. Not much to gain after the above though. Use the backup if you need to return to your previous config.
  12. REX makes better looking screenshots, more dramatic, but FEX seems a bit more realistic. That's just my opinion. Either way, can't go wrong.

  14. Best FSX video I've ever seen :). Hard to beat that one.
