Hi Superp;The purpose of a good fps in fs9 is to give a smooth, & fluid visual on screen. Think of the last time you went to the movies, & how fluid, & smooth the movie was, industry standard for motion picture film is 24 fps, which makes the frame to frame change indistinguishable to the human eye.Ergo,...running fs9 at any fps higher than 24 fps is unnecessary.eaglewon

I am not, nor do I profess to be any kind of computer wiz, but also am an fs9 guy, & tried fspassenger a long time ago, & it first "murdered" my fps, & then went to, like you, what is commonly referred to as the "BSOD", (Blue Screen Of Death), After recovering, & rebooting, I VERY promptly deleted fspassenger, & highly recommend that ANY, file, or program that sends you to the BSOD be 86ed from your hard drive.Good luck;Capt. I'm still dying to find a landable/dockable ai Akron / Macon. I emailed the author of the original CFS2 a/c Doug, "karbon",...but got a mail daemon failure notice on his address in the CFS2 zip.I also HIGHLY, recommend, googling Akron, and/or Macon & checking out the old films of these a/c, especially the one in which a sparrowhawk has a malfunction of the "hook", & a guy climbs down the boom to manually release the plane, all INflight.

TY Jack,Upon reading your reply I immediately opened another tab & downloaded both zips, I have them already, they are flyable models, In order to land/dock on them, they would have to be ai units with a "hard" trapeze, (like installing an ai aircraft carrier with "hard" deck to land on. You don't have to wait for "Opa", to respond to problems here in the forum,......"Opa" is one of my very favorite fs gurus, along with Tom Gibson, Gary Smith, & the late, great, Shigaru Tanaka. SO,...if for some reason you haven't already, search out, download, & read over,.....Tips & Tutorials, by David "Opa" Marshall. I have all of his T's & T's in their zip folders in 1 file on my hard drive called, (strangely enough) T's & T's, & find myself referring back to them relatively often. They are profoundly helpful, greatly interesting, & quite humorous too, & in pdf they're easy to scroll & read.Addendum:.....If you read this "Opa",......TY..TY..TY..TY..TY..TY

Hi ian,I'm not too sure about the rest of your problem, but, you are running your fps WAY to high. The fps of movie theater 35mm film standard is 24fps, by pushing your fs9 to 40-70fps you're only putting extra, & unnecessary strain on your system.That'll give you a start, good luck with the rest.

I caught an episode on the military channel about a week ago about U.S.N. airships, & fell in love with the "flying aircraft carriers", so I promptly went looking everywhere for them for fs9,....alas, the only one I could find, is what appears to be a great model of the two, WITH, hard trapeze for landing/docking with them, "inflight" by Doug Westfall, call sign karbon, but,..it's for cfs2 only, I've emailed karbon about his possibly doing a convert for fs9.Am I the only one with this desire? I doubt it. Would anyone else care to take a stab at converting karbon's great model for fs9???

Well, I "was" duped, until I came here. I thought that I might get some help/pointers from some/any one at avsim, and boy did I get help! Imagine my surprise when I logged on later and saw that "tgibson" had responded to my query. First of all, let me give a much deserved "well done" AND, "thank you very much" to all the folk at avsim for all the fine work to get the site up & running again. Duped? yes duplicated, of late I have been getting dupe a/c in ai traffic. They run real close together so that it looks like 1 a/c for a while until I/they change course then lettering gets blurry then far enough apart to tell it's 2 a/c, BUT, the same same a/c, i.e. same tail #'s. So how do I get rid of the "clones"?? Also, with ai traffic read outs, stock being, manufacturer, model, altitude, etc., what I would like to know about traffic is the a/c's heading & speed, does anyone have an add-on progam to get this to show. The reason is that ages ago I installed (oops I forgot the author/creator) DC-3 traffic which I love, but it is sooo difficult to fly formation with them without hdg. & KIAS.
