  2. Hi Vaughan. At our company, we are slowly installing the NGS systems for the tail numbers that don't have them. All our newer planes have them. For now, we keep the SOPs the same regardless of tail number just to keep things uniform. Always use the 1000 lbs in the centre tank if you NEED it. As well, lets say you are taking over a tail number that just landed. You are going on a short flight. So you jump in the plane and their is full main tnaks but only 300 lbs in the centre. You do NOT have to fill the centre tank up past 1000 lbs. But of course you would not turn the centre tank pumps on fo rthe entire flight either.Jack C
  3. yep all right BUT even when the GND power is NOT in use but still plugged in the GND power light will still be ON. It doesn't have to be the source of power that is running the aircraft system. As long as its plugged in, meets electrical requirements that blue light will be on. The APU could be the source of power for the aircraft but the GND power light can still be on.Jack C
  4. Ok, Etienne you were on a bit of a roll there with your last post.Its pretty simple. If the GND power is connect AND the GROUND POWER QUALITY has been met for the aircraft electrical system THEN the GND power light will illuminate. So obviously if the voltage is slightly under the required voltage the GND power light won't illuminate. IF the correct electrical requirements have been met the GND power light will ALWAYS stay illuminated and will NEVER extinguish as long as the gnd power is pumping out the correct electrical requirements. Does that sound easy to understand? I can be bad at getting my point across in a post sometimes.Jack C
  5. Yes you are partially right. The ground power cable can still be connected BUT something has to make that blue light come ON so therefore that "something" has to be removed to male that blue light go out.Jack C

  9. Ok but let's go back to my previous post about arming the APP mode. If you do that, the light on the APP button extinguishes as soon as the G/S and LOC capture. Is the APP engaged? Yes. So why is the light out then on the APP button? Does that make more sense. What is the significance of the green light on the MCP buttons?Jack C
  10. You got er. Some people will look at the MCP panel but thats not the proper way. After all some lights on the MCP panel will exttinguish and some lights will remain illuminated. For example, you select HDG SEL and after doing so the green light on the bottom on the button will illuminate. When you arm the APP, the green light will illuminate as well but when it captures the light will extinguish. Which brings me to the next question.#12 What does the light on the bottom of the buttons (on the MCP panel described above) indicate?Jeez Dan. You must be the smartest sim pilot out there.   17. You got it. BUT there is another thing that will tell you the GPS unit is u/s too. Hint: its on the forward panel of each pilot

  19. I was going to ask a question relating to fuel temp probes but then thought "is that really useful info?". I said No. So here goes a different question#9 If a GPS goes u/s how is the pilot able to tell? How about if BOTH GPSs go u/s?
  20. Hey Dan. Your answer is a very reasonable one but on the NG you can take off with frost on the upper surface but under certain conditions. Does anyone know what they are?Jack CWoops I see you made the post just above this one as I was typing. So I see you found the answer! good job.
