Collision with AI
Oh very cool. I will redownload and test it out. Appreciate it, Nico! That is what I was thinking too...won't help when you are on a taxiway and on a collision course with another plane, but any little bit might help.

Collision with AI
- Trees on ramp, taxiways, and all over airport
I had this issue the other day when I realized that UTX was loading on top of my add on airports in the scenery library. I moved the addon airports above UTX in library and all was fine.- Opinions on Orbx: CRM
Purchased CRM about a week ago and have been loving it. I actually find more locations I want to explore than PNW. Hell, I was about ready to plan a vacation to Idaho after flying around different airports for a few hours. More beautiful work by Orbx. That said, I agree with the above that I will be instantly purchasing Northern California and Southern Rockies when they are released.- Eaglesoft Cessna Citation CJ1+ 2.0, any one got it?
I just bought the Citation X 2.0 a week ago and have really loved learning the systems. Just finished my first full flight today and not one hiccup. Got 20+ FPS at McCarren and Oakland with AI turned way up. Solid product and nice value.- Taking next step to jets
Thanks BartEnder, this is just the kind of thing I was curious to see. I do lean towards the the smaller jets and the Mustang seems to be a front runner at this point. After I adjust to the increase in system complexity and the aircraft speed, I can consider the J41 or NGX. Thanks, Sekstifire. I have some basic knowledge with SIDs and STARs. I think the systems are more of the challenge for me at this point.Really, all the recommendations have been appreciated and I'm researching all of them. I think I just need to jump in the pool, thanks!- Taking next step to jets
Wow, thanks for the tremendous response guys. I really appreciate the time you took to help me. I feel much better, as it seems that the various addons you mentioned are within my grasp. It sounds that I may work on picking up some basics from the default 737, while I decide from the different options listed above. I sounds that starting with a more basic jet without an FMC to worry about is the way to go.- Taking next step to jets
I've been flying in FSX for quite a while, but I have always preferred to fly smaller GA prop planes (ie Cessnas, Mooneys, the Lancair, etc). However, I have been wanting a new challenge with jets and wondering which plane would make the most sense to begin to learn in.I have searched around the forums and its clear that the default jets are subpar at best. The newer releases like the NGX seems like it would be a beast and probably not optimal to begin training on. Contrary to that, I've also heard that learning an airliner is no more difficult than a small private jet... Needless to say, I'm confused and would love to hear any opinions or experiences about learning to fly jets. Thanks in advance.- What Release are you excited for in 2012?
Like a lot of people, Rex Essentials.. definitely Orbx Northern California- Accu-Feel Released
This is the kind of fun, exciting product that really helps reinvigorate my enjoyment of FSX. Thanks, A2A!!- New iMAC and FSX
Tremaine replied to a post in a topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcI have been running FSX on an iMac 2.8ghz Dual with a nvidia 8800 GT card and 2mb. When you use boot camp, the iMac is natively running Windows, so there is very little incompatibility. For example, I have REX2 running HD clouds, UTX, GEX and added extra AI on through WOAI. I run it at full res, 32 bit. I use NickN's settings, which includes maxing out a lot of the sliders, and I also turn on anti-aliasing. My FPS are locked at 30 and they rarely dip below 24, unless I'm at a huge airport with a ton of AI (I usually keep my airline traffic set way too high). Its super smooth and runs great. I even use a CH yoke, which set up perfectly.I was also able to upgrade my nVidia drivers which required a lot of searching on the web for instruction, but I managed. It took me about 4 hours to figure it out, but I did it. Not sure I will upgrade again for a while. All in all, the experience is probably not as perfect as some brand new fully loaded PC, but it gets the job done. The biggest problem is just having to reboot all the time when you want to switch OS - Parallels would not work.Hope my experience helps someone...- Double planes with AI
Arrggh - repaired. Please ignore. :(- Double planes with AI
So I used WOAI Installer to drop in several sets of AI airlines (UAL, SWA, AA, etc). Since I'm using FSX, I knew from reading other posts that I needed to convert the .bgl files to FSX format in order to retain my default GA traffic. I used the bgl converter and all went smoothly. However, once I start FSX I notice that all of the air traffic is doubled. When planes are in the air there are two right next to each other and in the Views list, the tail numbers also show there are two planes. I thought I read somewhere to not have the bgl converter make FS9 backups of the WOAI files, but I'm not sure what is causing this problem. I can always revert back and try reinstalling the WOSI sets, but I was hoping for a fairly quick fix.It has been a bit maddening, as I have searched on this forum and several others to try to find the solution but so far nothing. Let me know if you can provide any assistance or if I need to provide anymore info. It is greatly appreciated. - Trees on ramp, taxiways, and all over airport
