  1. Thanks :-) Regarding XP10 - well it is yet being considered but as the functionality of Ground Handling grows in FSX/P3D the chance to get at least subset of it to x-plane is bigger every day ;-)
  2. UPDATE: Looks like we've got pretty good profiles for P3D testers. So now interested bit more for testing in different FSX versions.
  3. Hi all We're recruiting Beta testers for our Prague Airport scenery. Please be aware that we're only looking for few people who: - knows that testing is pretty boring stuff, tedious work and it's all but game - knows that documentation is annoying but absolutely necessary stuff - has a systematic aproach - long term simulator user (no newbies, sorry) - idealy have a provable testing skills (not necessarily just flight simulation focused) - owns AES and/or GSX, ORBX Global and ASN products (idealy all) - are ready to sign non-disclosure agreement. After some time (like 4-6 weeks), the best selected testers will be awarded and will get chance to become part of the Beta team for further projects. The criteria for evaluation will be way he/she communicate, rigour and conscientiousness and focus to detail. So if you feel to be the right one please send us a mail to 'info at xht-labs dot com' with subject "LKPR testers recruitment" and write following info: - Real first name, last name, age and a brief presentation of yourself. (location, language, work, computer skill etc.) - HW specification/OS/FSX version you want to test on (CPU,GPU,RAM,HDD || Win 7/8/8.1, 32b/64b bits || FSX:SP2/FSX:ACC/FSX:SE/P3D) - what add-ons you have (and how long you use them ) Thanks, Premek
  4. Not at all Jay, don't worry. More than that, I'm glad people are presenting clear reasons out why it's not revolutionary. Yes, exactly that I have in mind when first time appeared "no more OOMs" - that scared me. There is so much involved we could not affect that I believe the appropriate approach here is "Never say never!" No, it's not from FSDT. Umberto's approach is somewhat similar, but we went our own way. And to be more specific - when I say "we" I mean XHT Labs.
  5. Yep, the Airport Controller is .exe, not a .dll. Among other reasons there was quite long time needed to investigate. The SDK documentation is poor, often misleading and often wrong. Also, as the FSX were developed over years, there are parts of code duct-taped together and there could be find two different approaches for stuff which appears to be logicaly the same and you'd expect the code is recycled. This is for instance the case of well-known problem light effects could be hardly positioned on a pole just by setting identical coordinates. And there are many of such places in SDK which makes usage of this aproach whatever but straighforward. Well, there will be definitelly some overhead for communication and this is one of the reasons I tried to calm down some excited expressions. On the other hand the results, especialy with LKPR, looks promising so I believe it will bring significant improvement. True, true, true ;-)

  7. Hi Oli Thanks, I think you're very close to reality. The "technology" is called Airport Controller and as I participated on this I have quite detailed info. I'm afraid this will be not ground breaking. I believe it will have significant effect on FPS, but it's not a SW messiah. The APC will be also used for Mega Airport Prague which should be soon released too. And as this is bigger airport I think the FPS-win will be more visible there. At least - what test show us, the airport itself has really very low FPS drop. So, I'd like to ask other people here to calm down a bit - I'm afraid such discussions could self-generate sky-high expectation. What could only end as everybody would be angry to Aerosoft. Do not forget, that every computer is a independent world, so do not expect almighty problem-solver. Do not "develop" a novel from few words and sentences Mathijs wrote. Despite all I wrote I hope most of the users will be happy with that technology :-)
  8. We hope so too ;-) Actualy we were focused on optimization of the model pretty much so we believe there should be not a dramatic FPS drop. And if necessary, there is also possibility to switch off animated jetways and/or the AI Ground Handling so this could bring another FPS. Glad you like it guys :-)
