I think that FSX lovers just "Can't handle the truth" about people having such a wonderful experience like Robert just did. the best way to approach this kind of comments is just to ignore them, waste of your precious time if otherwise.

Your right Pirata and I don't think Robert was even FSX bashing, he basically stated HIS opinion that X-Plane's road traffic and night lighting were better than FSX. To that end there are a lot of FSX users that would agree. The point I am trying to make is that this is a forum for X-Plane, yet it seems whenever anyone mentions having a good experience in X-Plane there is a tirade of negative comments from a certain sector of FSX users. It seems defensive in the extreme to the point of trolling. 

Why are the FSX evangelists so protective of FSX on an X-Plane forum? Robert was merely expressing his opinion on what he believes are some of X-Plane's advantages over FSX, on an X-Plane forum. I for one enjoy Robert's posts and have lurked here for many years, but am so tired of reading X-Plane bashing posts in this forum I thought I would come out of hiding and post. Keep posting your updates Robert, the silent majority do appreciate them.

I have a fairly similar set up to you only I am single Quad Core 2.66 with a hacked 6870 Radeon and 12GB Mem. I use the small Apple 20" at 1650x1080 and get very good results almost everywhere. One thing I noticed is that you are using extreme res textures, mine is one peg back from that and still looks great. I have x2 Alias and x16 Anis and clouds at 15%. Flying around the UK with real weather i.e. very cloudy and raining, using Jrollons CR200 it is as smooth as butter. I can't tell you the frame rate as I have switched this off, I found myself too worried about the FPS and not actually flying. As Simon says, it is probably the screen res that is holding you back.

Was there any further progress on this, I have recently bought the default 737 version and am having the same problems. As with Tony, it seems isolating the FS2Crew_VoiceMain entry in the panel config allow the panel to load but without functionality. I would love to get this going, I much prefer Prepar3d over FSX
