Winds aloft predictions for lat/long waypoints
Hello Kyle, Thank you; I was a bit too hasty with HiFi; now responded in in discussion over there.

Winds aloft predictions for lat/long waypoints
No response over on the HiFi forum, therefore trying here: I generate flightplans in Aivlasoft EFB, and export them to Active Sky Next and to a PMDG 777 route. This works fine, however: the WX file that ASN injects into the ...\fsx\PMDG\WX folder shows lat/long waypoints as WPT01 etc, while the 777 FMC shows them in the lat/long format. This means that they are not recognised when importing winds aloft predictions (a significant issue on long transoceanic flights). Any suggestions welcome.

Moving Flight Simulator X Files to new location
Hello Ed, Thank you. If all else fails, I shall do that, but I would prefer to have them (and all other non-operating system stuff) on D:

Moving Flight Simulator X Files to new location
I have installed FSX on my D: drive, but my Flight Simulator X Files folder has been installed at C:\Users\Peter\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files (and I don't recall seing an option to put it somewhere else during installation). It is possible to move it off my C: drive?

No response to throttle after landing
Thank you everybody. Assigning a joystick button solved my AutoPilot problem, and disengaging the AutoThrottles (an obvious solution; why didn't I think of that myself?) enables me to taxi to the gate.

No response to throttle after landing
At the start of decent I pull my physical throttle right back when the FMA goes to IDLE. After landing I try to apply throttle again to taxi, but nothing happens; the plane refuses to move. I have also noticed that I cannot deactivate the Autopilot with two presses (separated by a couple of seconds) of Z. What am I doing wrong? Peter Davis

Not seeing NATS waypoints
PeterDa replied to PeterDa's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumI now see that this problem has been discussed in another thread:http://forum.avsim.n...efing-page-ase/ASE does not show waypoints that do not include the following parameter: <ICAO> <ICAOIdent>xxxxx</ICAOIdent> </ICAO>

Not seeing NATS waypoints
PeterDa replied to PeterDa's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumProblem seems to be that, in the FSX .pln files, waypoints of the following type are seen by ASE <ATCWaypoint id="55N050W"> <ATCWaypointType>Intersection</ATCWaypointType> <WorldPosition>N55° 0' 0.00",W50° 0' 0.00",+000000.00</WorldPosition> <ATCAirway>NATT</ATCAirway> <ICAO> <ICAOIdent>55N050W</ICAOIdent> </ICAO> </ATCWaypoint>but waypoints of the following type are not: <ATCWaypoint id="WPT01"> <ATCWaypointType>User</ATCWaypointType> <WorldPosition>N50° 0' 0.00",W50° 0' 0.00",+000000.00</WorldPosition> <Descr>50N/050W</Descr> </ATCWaypoint>

Not seeing NATS waypoints
I am just flying KJFK-EHAM in the PMDG 737NGX via the following track: KJFK MERIT3 MERIT HFD PUT WITCH ALLEX YQX 50N050W 51N040W 52N030W 53N020W MALOT GISTI LIFFY UL975 WAL UM16 DOLAS UL603 LAMSO EHAM. I generate the track in Aivlasoft EFB and save it in FSX and PMDG formats, and then import it into ASE and into the 737NG FMC. The FMC shows all the waypoints, but ASE shows nothing between YQX and MALOT, and shows the distance between these as 189 nm, which is actually the distance between YQX and 50N050W. Any suggestions welcome.

AivlaSoft EFB problem?
I (the original poster) have now solved my problem (thanks to a remark on a thread about taxi navigation) when I was almost on the point of giving up (and migrating to FlightSim Commander). I had the FSX frame limiter set to 30, and this was apparently causing the CTDs with the EFB. After changng the limiter to "unlimited" my problem disappeared, and I have recently made a number of problem-free flights with the NGX, Ultimate Traffic II and the EFB (including seeing the UTII generated traffic).

AivlaSoft EFB problem?
Hello Wycliffe,Thank you very much for this clear exposition. I had indeed looked at the EFB forum, and seen the references to SimConnect, but had not realised that they referred to this problem. Hello Scott,Indeed; it is the sim that freezes up (on my desktop computer); EFB keeps working. I can sometimes complete a short flight, but not often. Only option is to save the flight every ten minutes or so, and then go back to the last save.

AivlaSoft EFB problem?
When running the AivlaSoft Electroinc Flightbag together with the NGX, FSX frequently (sometimes three times on a short flight from EHAM to EGKK) freezes up ("Not responding" message in the title bar, and window goes misty when clicked; must use Task Manager to stop FSX). This doesn't happen with the NGX without the EFB, and I have just made a quick flight in the Level D 767 with EFB and there were no problems there.I have Win-7 64bits with Ultimate Traffic II as the only other addin.

Load panel freeze-up
After installing SP1 I see the following strange effect (that I don’t think I had previously): after selecting a (PMDG-)panel state (e.g. CLDDRK) to load on the 3D FMS, the panel state loads, but the FMS continues to show "Loading panel state..." and is unresponsive to further input. It is necessary to pop the FMS out and back in before it shows the normal top menu, and is responsive to key presses.

Reinstalling - Failed to load GameuxInstallhelper
Decided to reinstall FSX and everything associated with it on my 64 bit Windows 7 machine, but obviously did something wrong when removing FSX, because I get the "Error Ox80040702 Failed to load: GameuxInstallhelper" failure message. I found and followed the Microsoft help page at http://support.micro...kb/968365/en-us, but it does not specify exactly which registry keys to remove, I have removed those at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE|Wow6432Node\Microsoft\microsoft games and HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1455015182-1347811041-367054334-1001\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games but still get the error message. Any further suggestions would be most welcome, as I am now out of the frying pan and well and truly into the fire..

No; everything straight out of the box
-
Ryanair 800 Winglets 2D/3D tailnumber placard difference
The tailnumber placard in the 3D cockpit reads "EI-EFY"; the placard in the 2D cockpit has an extra "1" ("EI-EFY1")

PFD and ND temporary freeze during taxi
I have noticed the following twice during the long taxi after landing at EHAM in the tutorial: somewhere during the taxi the PFD and the ND in the 3D cockpit both stop changing, although the popped-out 2D versions are still being updated. The problem can be easily fixed by changing to another view, and then going back to the 3D cockpit. It may have been stimulated by pausing the simulator during the taxi to open the Navigraph taxi chart, but I cannot reproduce this consistently.

Tutorial flight: loss of thrust during takeoff
Thank you; that did the trick ;-))

Tutorial flight: loss of thrust during takeoff
Yes; I have "IN HOLD/ARM MODE ONLY" as per the suggestion in the Introduction.

Tutorial flight: loss of thrust during takeoff
I am flying the tutorial 1 flight. After engaging TO/GA speed rapidly increases, but when it reaches about 85 knots the "N1" annunciation in the FMA changes to "THR HLD" and the plane almost stops accelerating, and is only doing about 125 at the end of the Gatwick runway. The only way to save the situation is to push the throttle forward. Am I doing something incorrectly? N1 page of FMC is correctly set.
