  1. Drag the carb heat lever to hot and that will stop the back firing. Now, if someone could tell me how to get lighting to work on the beaver, I would appreciate it. Specifically, Instrument light, cabin light, and map light don't seem to work. when flying at night, I would have to use a flash light to see the flight instruments. Unfortunately no flashlight is provided. -Jim
  2. Where can i download these repaints. Thanks, Jim

Another bug? I believe the real D18 does NOT have a steerable tail wheel. Instead the real plane has a 360 degree caster. I could be wrong. Carenado's has a steerable tail wheel. -Jim

Milton Shupe's "flight model" is an order of magnitude more accurate that Carenado's. Sounds as well. INR pilots of the D18S talk about dumping lift on touchdown by pushing forward on the yoke to prevent bounce. They mention the saying "bounce 5 times and over.) Relating to that, it seems most accidents on landing are touching down at too high a speed. In addition to other bugs, I found that when starting up for cold and dark, sometimes the switches on the switch panel don't work unless you touch the panel from the virtual cockpit first. similarly, when first accessing the fuel switches in the engine control panel, the mouse pointer actually operates the throttle. I have flown Milt's D18 for several years. I guess I only bought Carenado for the cockpit graphic rendering. My bad. I'm not going to insert Milt's sound set into the Carenado plane. I have to much respect for his work. In my opinion, the plane was not ready for prime time. It's like it was a rush job. -Jim
  6. I have never found the virtual windoz programs to work properly. I have had this problem with Parallels. Two years ago I went to Bootcamp. No more problems. The upside is graphics and frame rates are great. The downside is you can't run mac OS and Windoz simultaneously. I would rather have good graphics.
  7. Thanks so much. This now works perfectly.........................except the map will not "de-clutter." The switch indicates it has depressed, but no action. A minor thing, I admit.Best regards,-Jim
  8. After installation, I couldn't get the nav pages to switch. Specifically, could not get map display.-Jim
  9. Bill, thanks for your help. I did need both installers. Now trying to find out what the planes will do. Only one plane was installed for the B-25. I'll have to look into that tomorrow.Comment on the discs. The paper, sticky labels are not too good. The labels on both the B-25 and R4D came loose and impeded ejection from the slot-loaded reader. I had to remove the R4D label completely, which did some damage to the reflective surface.I was able to duplicate both CDs with some effort and printed labels direct to disc. I have some 10 year old discs with paper sticky labels and something below the surface eats away the reflective layer and a bunch of 'em don't work any more. I've been using "hub-printable" CDs and DVDs for the past 4-5 years with good success. And, nothing to peel off when trying to eject.Bill, thanks again for your help on Saturday. Above and beyond the call of duty. :( Best regards,-Jim
  10. Running Windows 7 Pro; FSX + Acceleration. FSX and other Windows apps I have installed run perfectly.I purchased the "package deal" and it is unclear to me how to install these planes. It appears from the brief instructions, I need to have FS 2002 or FS 2004 installed first. I suspect I may have just made a $107 donation to MAAM, with the benefit of not flying the aircraft. Or, I may be too "slow" and old to figure out the installation....after all, I'm 67 and taking prednisone. :( Separately, i cannot read the ~$AD_1ST.doc (readme first) for the R4D, which i suspect may have installation instructions. I did download the 2 FSX updates for R4D from "free stuff," but without being able to install the CDs, I am at a loss.I have very few applications on this computer as it mostly is occupied with flying FSX. Other computers do my main computing chores.So...........my questions are:
