March 23, 201412 yr Hi, I'm a 777 pilot and thought it would be a handy training/revision tool to add the FSX software and PMDG 777 to my new iMac. I'm running VMWARE fusion with windows 7, but haven't been able get anywhere near the level of graphics I'd hoped. The cockpit graphics are blurred and I can only operate switches because I know what should be there. I've tried altering the visual settings, but have not seen any improvement. If anyone has experience enough to advise me I'd be most grateful. It's easier flying the real thing! Steve Wakeham
March 24, 201412 yr I have never found the virtual windoz programs to work properly. I have had this problem with Parallels. Two years ago I went to Bootcamp. No more problems. The upside is graphics and frame rates are great. The downside is you can't run mac OS and Windoz simultaneously. I would rather have good graphics.
March 25, 201412 yr Advice from me working in IT, never use a Mac for gaming or high-res graphics. Our clients use Macs for email and internet (like a bi ipad) Even running bootcamp, they don't have the same performance as a proper PC. On a i7, SSD based system with Win 8.1, I get 30fpc locked at pretty much all times on PC. Virtualized systems have never been designed for good GFX performance sadly. Wes Meyer
March 25, 201412 yr If I was you i'd switch to running bootcamp instead. windows and fsx really needs to be run directly on the hardware not in emulation like fusion or parallels. I run on the previous gen iMac and i get very good performance. René Pedersen
