VoxATC on FSX Doesn't Get Past "6.52 Initializing"
There is a support forum under Commercial Support Forums ( Unofficial and Official). Have you run the VOXAtc indexer, this needs to be run so VOXATC can recognise airfields from installed scenery and installed aircraft. Sorry, that should be the VOXATC indexer and the VoxATC Panel setup. The later enables you to define the aircraft you intend to use.

VoxATC Echanced UK add-on, any good?
Thanks Ian, I did steps 1 & 2 same as you and did not show up in Plan G. I'll follow 3 & 4. And that should fix it.

VoxATC Echanced UK add-on, any good?
Kevin Firstly, thanks for work you have done on creating this airspace. I too am confused. The zip file contains the following: BNXWorld0_amended.BGL BNXWorld1_amended.BGL ENR5.1 Danger Areas.BGL ENR5.1 Prohibited and Restricted Areas.BGL Readme file Change log + 2 pictures UK Airspace Boundaries Folder Your post above says that the amended are the same as the default? should there be a couple of other bgl files? VoxATC Echanced UK add-on, any good?
Hi Kevin, Thanks for the link, it looks good, i'll give it a try. Ian. There is a 44 page document covering the UK enhancements, which includes an example VFR flight and an IFR flight. The VFR flight from Plymouth to Kemble and includes a MATZ penetration and a Danger Area Crossing service for D012. It also covers Emergencies, Urgencies (Pan Pan Pan) and LARS. The big advantage is you "speak with ATC" not just select an option on a menu. For me, this makes the whole experience much more immersive and not just a game. Regards Roger

VoxATC Echanced UK add-on, any good?
FSX doesn't know where the MATZs are, I use Plan G for flight planning which does have SOME MATZ (Benson zone is not there). It's up to you to request MATZ penetration/transit through VOXatc. So it is purely procedural. I don't recall the UK specific differencies, I'll check and post tomorrow. Roger

VoxATC Echanced UK add-on, any good?
I have been using VOXatc with the UK add on for a few years. I found it very useful for radio practice whilst doing my PPL 3 years ok. I don't use the expert mode (no text prompts) as the position reports are extremely prescriptive. I use it with the Horizon/UK2000 scenery and airfields. One thing I found was that some of the radio & ATIS frequencies and circuit (left or right hand) are incorrect. This is not the fault of VOXatc, it is the scenery that is incorrect. VOXatc uses this for its information. I found an editor AFX that enables circuit directions and frequencies to be edited. I have recently migrated to FSX-SE and my first circuits with VOXatc were all ok.

terrain.dll
Hi Jim, Thanks for the reply My system is an AMD Phenom II 1090T 6 core processor, AMD R9 200 Graphics card. The system has been running fsx stably for a few years. fsx.cfg was last modified in 2014 1. I have turned off Autogen but fsx crashes with Scenery Complexity above sparse 2. I have just tried to rebuild fsx.cfg as suggested. fsx crashes on loading a flight, the event log states that terrain.dll is the faulting module. one weird thing, the aircraft preview shows a grey aircraft. 3. I'm working my way through the ASIM CTD guide. A few other points Lod_Radius= 4.5 Texture_Max_Load is 512 the last mod to fsx.cfg was MIPBIAS=6 fsx.cfg was tweaked in 2010 using the ******* Bojote tool Regards Roger

terrain.dll
A couple of weeks ago I uninstalled my Horizon Gen X Scottish scenery from my c: drive and reinstalled on my second drive to free up space on the C: FSX started crashing every time I loaded a flight even if it wasn't in Scotland. I uninstalled all of my Horizon, UK2000 and Earth Simulations photo scenery, but FSX still crashed when loading a flight. The only way I could get FSX to load was to "turn down" the scenery settings: Scenery complexity: sparse, Autogen density: none Special effects detail: Low I found this forum and checked the event viewer and discovered that the faulting module is terrain.dll I couldn't find how to fix the problem other than to turn down the scenery settings. Given that fsx used to run perfectly well on much higher settings I'm not sure where to go from here? I still have the following installed: Orbx Australia scenery installed but not checked in the scenery library Rex 4 texture direct, soft clouds and weather architecture Rex essentials VOXATC UK So do I uninstall all including FSX and reinstall? Any thoughts welcome.

Incorect Frequency
I have been using 6.52 with FSX, for a couple of weeks now. I encountered a very strange situation. Flying to Haverfordwest (EGFE), I was given a frequency of 116.750 for the airfield, which is impossible to tune to as VHF radio is from 118.000 to 137.000. looking at the chart 116.750 is the frequency of the DME! I have re-indexed and checked the comms frequency using AFX and it is 122.200, But still VOXATC wants me to tune to 116.750. I tuned to 122.200 and transmitted but no response. Any ideas anyone?

Currently running 6.20 should I update to 6.5?
Can you reinstall voxpop base and voices on top of the new version of VOXATC?

Currently running 6.20 should I update to 6.5?
So, just to be clear, First uninstall using control panel, install the latest version and then reinstall the UK extras?

Currently running 6.20 should I update to 6.5?
I am running v 6.2+UK expansion pack on FSX Classic. I have been monitoring this forum for some time and have been put off upgrading so far. So is the latest version 6.51 stable enough to upgrade now?

Questions for licensed GA pilots
I did use FSX whilst doing my PPL. I have horizon's UK VFR scenery and UK airfields, VOXATC, Saitek control panels. I found the above setup very useful for - checklists and procedures, - practicing radio procedures, - practicing cross country navigation, the vfr scenery was extremely useful for recognising airfields from the air and flying circuits. The major challenge was finding a good Piper Warrior with the same flight characteristics. I now fly a PA 28 180 and the A2A Cherekee is an extremely accurate rendition. I still use FSX as practice for flying to new airfields and instrument flying. To answer your questions: 1) with the right setup you can get 90% 2) it is not as rewarding as the real thing but can be an invaluable traing aid
