Your opinion on my Night texture
Hi, odourboy I've been working on a new method that made me to place lights on the scene manually. I want you if you have time to test it to see if it has any advantage over the previous methods that was automatic and was much faster.and since you tested my previous files you can tell which one of my projects was best. here is a small area of oslo city that i used just for testing . It is the texture or photoscenery file: http://mohsenfff.dl.rapidpars.com/4780/3170983/c8fkar0c0aq/norway_night.rar it is the bgl and agn file for the lights and autogen building http://mohsenfff.dl.rapidpars.com/4780/3170997/yqe2xmz1fvk/lights-bgl.rar http://mohsenfff.dl.rapidpars.com/4780/3171001/5k5s2h189sw/house-agn.rar i hope you still have the ramplibrary and orbx lights and it is the file to show where the scenery is that you should place in the C:\Users\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files and load it in you FSX http://mohsenfff.dl.rapidpars.com/4780/3171027/xxhq0hs2js6/oslo.rar

Difference between Prepar3d professional plus and professinal
Hi J van E, All setting was maxed out in two versions. I was wondering why I can't see the HDR lightning and building and tree shadow in pro version? By the way, I sent you a PM about working on the Oslo 'night texture. I asked you to try part of my scenery before its release, I don't know if you can do this or not?

Difference between Prepar3d professional plus and professinal
Hi all, I have a question; is there any difference between Prepar3d "pro plus" and "pro" beside the military training? I saw some screenshots that show pro plus is far more superior to pro in visual department is it true?

You can do that, but I have this "Artificial Night Sky Brightness "for North America that give me a hint of areas I need to work on. You can take a look at it in Google's earth. If you think it is incorrect or incomplete, correct it. http://mohsenfff.dl1.rapidpars.com/4780/2752528/q8wxs56qq3f/269838-ArtificialNightSkyBrightnessforNorthAmerica.kmz

Did you also disable add-on scenery? If you copy my files in Add-on scenery, change the folder... ----------------- For a while, I'm gonna to work on whole province of Ontario, and I will release the package in one or two months, this way I 'll get more time and energy to put on the project and as a result the scenery will be much more detailed. It will be a pay ware add-one, and I'm sure you'll enjoy the scene.

City lights
Nice shots I have a question, does this freeware lights mod work universal , I mean for whole world, or it's just for Milan?

Now your buildings look normal, but still i can see Square very bright spotlights on the ground which could mean that you have double BGL file somewhere.you should have 20 item in your scenery folder like this :

Your opinion on my Night texture
Hi, the blue spikes are due to the textures. He didn't copy the building texture in texture folder, or maybe he doesn't have FSX acceleration and that round halo over the city center is because of, I think "add-on scenery," , he may want to copy my scenery to the different folder rather than add-on scenery and disable the add-on scenery in the scenery library.

I thought about it, and it's good idea to do one more work before whole UK. So I will do it. If you had seen my pictures closely you would noticed the exact effect you mentioned ( many more lights in residential streets and more reflections on main roads). To achieve these result, I studied numinous topics on light pollution and in addition to visual approach(like watching night landing videos) I use some scientific scale to measure the overall brightness of whole scene and then compare it with the selected areas such as main road or residential area ,,,,and I think the overall brightness of block buildings is about right although I still believe the main roads are too illuminated, and the lights should be spaced more. Please download the scenery file and give your opinion based on that. If you want, here is the download link: http://mohsenfff.dl.rapidpars.com/4780/2717552/8fh3xsm3htp/plymouth%282%29.rar for 3d lights and spotlights you should download the following files and put it in your global folder http://mohsenfff.dl.rapidpars.com/4780/2683977/5rpphxzx68k/GLOBAL%283%29.rar http://www.mediafire.com/?7vgm72un2uj0as4 and finally for building you should download this file and put it in your scenery file just like the first file. http://mohsenfff.dl.rapidpars.com/4780/2729654/31hahzbh61b/PLYMOUTH%283%29.rar I want to work on Toronto again to see how my new method works so if you have any opinion give it before that.and please see the scenery first,

Actually, I have to use more building with different color and brightness since they are designed for FSX default scenery, they look too white in my scenery. Adding 20 or 30 different buildings is a good idea I have to make them myself. About the "neighbourhoods," I intentionally used some setting, so they seem dark from distance, but as you approach them and get over them vertically, they start to emit light and form a "Linear structures" Considering the buildings hide the residential road's lights from the pilot' sight, I think it's a pretty realistic effect. For example, the neighbourhoods in this picture may seem a little dark. However, as you get over them, the neighbourhoods's structure will appear: BTW ,What do yo mean by larger city, like Toronto? , do you want me to work on such a scale? It may be a little time-consuming to that in this stage.

odourboy,I added some buildings to the scenery, and for the first time I used Google's earth 3d model, which is close to the real building (I just use them for corecity) and make night texture for them . check this out to see if it's worth putting time on 3d building or not. I just used four Google 3d model for the core city. The rests of the buildings are default FSX objects. http://mohsenfff.dl.rapidpars.com/4780/2729654/31hahzbh61b/PLYMOUTH%283%29.rar Put them in your add-on folder. if it asks for overwriting, click yes. It is hard to judge based on a video. You can try the scenery to see if it's too dark or not.

Does night finally look like night?
The problem is with the default MS texture ,It doesn't follow any law of light distribution, and as you said it is like hell on the earth. I'm working on a project to change the texture at least for Europe and US if you like you can check my work on this topic: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/423709-your-opinion-on-my-night-texture/page-7#entry2860493

Hi, did you enable the Bloom light in fsx? Because those ramp lights are working along with bloom effect to represent very bright area or spot in the city. Like core city, constructional site, airport and etc.... also I don't see traffic lights in the streets which I think is connecting to the bloom effect as well, so enable it to see what happen... about the texture brightness I can simply make it darker, I'll do it in my next project. BTW, how do you make those sharp 1080P movies? The quality is very high, and the size is small.

How is it?
Can someone kindly upload some pictures from the night environment?

Your opinion on my Night texture
Yes, it completely changes the view, and you don't have to change DX10 legacy scenery settings, and you can apply any setting you like...if you remove those global files. Here it is http://mohsenfff.dl1.rapidpars.com/4780/2720850/y3tgzmzbqmy/Global%282%29.rar test it, if you have any performance issue, you can do this. 1-backup your current "FSX. CFG" 2-delete the "FSX. CFG" and restart your FSX so it can build a new FSX.CFG file. 3-go to following website and tweak your configuration. http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html(just try it if you don't like it simply restore your previous FSX. CFG file.) I had exactly the same problem as you and I solved it this way. or you can ignore my recommendation and do whatever you wanna do.

Ok. However, if you remove ramp lights, you'll probably miss hundreds of lights. , anyway, it's good that my scenery still looks great without them.

Try it. It is free. It is important for me to know if it's running smoothly on all systems, and actually, it was my intention to work on all of Europe after UK. I think in six months I can do that.

Thank you So you found no problem with scenery ?roads's lights?brightness?and etc..... By the way, check out my last uploaded video, you'll see so many bright spotlights all over the place, in your video, which is 3d I suppose. I saw none of them, did you intentionally remove them from your video?

And here is a short video of the scene in the case you're missing any spotlight or 3d light

Hi guys, I changed some settings as you suggested. I remapped the road's lightning. For example, I added more color, brightness and shadow to the main roads. Also I tuned the residential road's lightning, so they seem dim in distance and gradually beginning to show up when you're flying directly over them. I did this to simulate the night environment , I like to know what do you think about this new approach do you think the brightness of residential roads is enough? And do you think is it ready to go to the next stage which is for whole UK, or it still needs more work? here is the download link : http://mohsenfff.dl.rapidpars.com/4780/2714371/hfchj6cmgmz/plymouth%282%29.rar Thank you.

OK I'll make the changes as you requested, and I'll release the new version in a few days. My main concern now is the right to use satellite imagery. It seems it is illegal to use Google's images without their'r permission. It wasn't my intention to use their satellite image to make money. I just wanted to use them as reference for drawing roads, but unfortunately, people may use my scenery to fly during the daytime too. So it may get me in trouble in the future.
