Hi Jim, I followed your guide to the letter. Rebuilt the FSX.CFG file Disabled the dll.xml and exe.xml Ran FSX in basic default mode (loaded very quick - ran smooth) ATC worked ok Discovered I had a bad dll.xml file (sent to PMDG for repair) PMDG returned repaired file - inserted - all good FSX now loads to PMDG aircraft in 3 mins (wow) I also checked the Direct X Deleted the Facilities and Scenery indexes Cleaned the Registry (which I do normally) Checked Microsoft.net - running current version Emptied the AppData/Local/temp file Recheck video drivers - all good. Checked the UIautomationcore.dll - all good Happy Days! All is working well at this stage. Load time is very fast across the board in compassion to WIN7 – FSX. I have run the following; Cessna 172 (default) PMDG 737ngx (HUD data loaded ok) PMDG 777 (200 and 300) loaded ok PMDG 747 8i loaded ok. PMDG737ngx (YBBN to YSSY) with TrackIR and Active Sky (all good) Why is my TweaksFS-XML File ToolBox finding a missing SimConnect.xml in the AppData file? If you lived in Brisbane I’d buy you beers. System frooze. Shut FSX down through Task Manager Will check event viewer next. Upgraded to DX Scenery Fixer V2.9 Decided to try and run FSX in compatibility mode FSX - properties Compatibility Mode=WIN7 Settings=Reduced color mode=16bit Run as administrator (same settings for all users) Save FSX loads and able to fly in basic Cessena 172 ok with all scenery very smooth. FSX is however still taking time to load items. About to try PMDG 800NGX from YAMB to YBBN (quick test). That went ok Flies ok....very smooth, but now the moment I touch the ATC box the program every now and then FSX freezes.

Compatibility Mode is all unchecked, deleted the fsx.cfg file again. get to free flight screen then select "fly now" black screen - system is trying to load in in lower resolution screen. That's when I'm rebooting the system because FSX is hanging. I still think its a video driver problem....yet drivers are all up to date.

Tried all the suggestions. Edited the FSX.CFG as suggested by SteveW, then tried to ran FSX. Got to the default screen and selected my default flight in Brisbane - Australia and got no further. Next screen wouldn't load. Then deleted the FSX.CFG file and allowed FSX to rebuild - same deal. Also wondering if I should delete the Scenery.cfg and let it rebuild that as well? I smell a driver issue somewhere or a DX issue. Prior to the release of WIN 10, I was running WIN 7 (no issues). FSX with all the addons (SteveFX, PMDG, ORBX, ACTIVE Sky, MYTraffic, etc) all ran very smoothly. Since the installation I've run FSX (running very slow - doing the recheck of the "trusted software" which was ok for the 1st time and finally some 30 minutes later finished loading the program. FSX seems to be looking for something or running into a wall? Are the latest round of loading issues got something to do with DX12 - DX10 - DX9? I'm running STEVEFX in DX10 mode? Is it a NVIDIA Drivers problem? Mine are all up to date. All my other games PR and World of Tanks are running fine. My upgrade to WIN 10 went well, however after the upgrade was completed I tried to restart FSX (no joy), Very slow - asked all the "trusted software" questions. Took forever to load. I'm running DX 10 Scenery Fixer as well. FSX was running very smooth in WIN 7.

Solution: Before installing the 737MG 800-900 SP d update undertake the following; Download from PMDG your previous "ZIP" file purchase Uninstall the previous version of your PMDG Aircraft Restart Computer Install new version of the PMDG 737NG 900-900 Restart Computer Re download and liveries and attach with livery manager Restart FSX. Logged into account, selected download link, package downloaded and opened. installation asked to repair or remove, selected repair and ran installation. Rebooted computer after installation complete then ran FSX. What have I done wrong????? Cheers Richard

I noted this morning (YBBN to YBTL) that the FMC - ETA & DTG was cycling as well. Now what I did this morning was ensure that FSX Date/Time was reset to the computer but that didn't help. A bitcstrange.

Top right hand of screen - Time to next fix (0000z) is cycling and not displaying time to next nav mark.
