  1. I've been away from the sim for a good while and am having the same messages appear in 2.67. Based on my notes, I deleted PTA from my hard drive, then uninstalled the P3D client using control panel, then reinstalled the client. The errors persist even though PTA asks for my activation (first time run).
  2. There was indeed a duplicate configuration section in my panel.cfg. Thank you for the help, and the tip.
  3. After having to re-install P3D and all add-ons I am back to not being able to import flight plans created in LittleNavMap. The 'Import' button is there - it is just that nothing is listed. The path to my flight plans is C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\FPLN and each flight plan file has the extension '.gfp'. I could use some help, as I have reviewed other threads on this issue and don't see a solution for myself.

  5. I have both the 750 and the 650, where I normally setup the 750 as a pop-up. I decided that I wanted both and to my dismay the panel unit goes dark when the pop-up is enabled. Going back to just one pop-up (750) doesn't bring the 650 back to life, either - I have to run the setup routine again.
  6. My aged X52 has reached the point where the joystick only works very intermittently. Using my multi meter I checked for voltage and continuity from the circuit board that the DIN jack on the throttle is attached to, over to the main PCB. It seems the problem is in the DIN jack and so I attempted to direct wire and bypass the jack but... it is time for a new setup. I was thinking of moving away from Saitek, maybe to the Gladiator MKII. I can still use the X52 throttle, and I read a lot of good things about this stick but Saitek seems to be popular on Avsim.
  7. The solution was to do a re-format of my main drive, re-install Windows 10 with all updates, then follow that with the P3D installation. As long as I leave my Prepar 3D Files and Prepar 3D Add On folders where they are (I have moved the Documents folder to my D Drive using Windows) simconnect functions.
  8. I followed the directions to delete six folders the uninstaller leaves behind. However, I’m suspicious that due to the sheer number of attempts I could have left the add-on.xml file intact; this file (and Envtex) have caused me headaches before and I’m going to query TOGA about this...
  9. So on a susequent launch of the sim I was presented with a dialog box to enable Envtex. As it was a clean install, I did not have Envdir or Envtex installed, so I am unsure as to where the sim was picking this up from. I selected 'No', and then Simconnect would not work. I ended up reverting to my last disk image and thus far I have installed ChasePlane and Active Sky and they both connect.
  10. As of now I have 4.5 with the Hotfix up and running with Simconnect. The only thing in this entire process that I changes was that I have traditionally updated the client ever since installing 4.1 or 4.2 (can't recall). This time, for each install I ran the full setup routine. Now to start back in with the addons. I sure am enjoying the flashlight!!
  11. Good Morning. So I uninstalled 4.5, rebooted, then installed 4.4 - and Simconnect did not work. I ended up reformatting my drive and installing Windows 10 again. This is after following published uninstall directions which take into account folders not addressed by the uninstaller. I now have a clean system and a fresh install of 4.4 working with Simconnect. I have imaged the drive using Macrium Reflect and will move onto 4.5 once again and see...
  12. So I might be a bit closer to nailing down the issue: I've been at this since 0600 eastern time... I reformatted my main drive (Windows and Prepar3D), and did a full install of Windows 10 letting it install all updates. Next, I installed P3D v4.4.16.27077. The Lorby flashlight worked as soon as I launched P3D! Feeling lucky, I moved to 4.5 and the fun stopped. I'm back to no simconnect.I sure hate to install Windows again??
  13. The flashlight app appears to not work. I cannot select 'Lamp on' or 'Lamp off', and the Location drop down menu is not populated with any choices.
  14. I’d love to try your app. I can’t believe a fresh install hasn’t resolved this.
  15. Thanks Dave. I did run ASConnect after the update.
  16. Oliver, I have been under the impression, from reading other info here, that installing the three simconnect versions in the 'redist' folder was the end all in simconnect troubleshooting. I believe that the add on 'FltPlan Go GPS' may require them, but that is the only add on I can think of. I have used a search utility to find and delete all instances of simconnect.xml, simconnect.ini, and simconnect.cfg. Next, I used the control panel to uninstall the three listed simconnect installs. Then, I rebooted my machine. This I followed with a clean install of ActiveSky. Chaseplane prompts for the installation of Simconnect 10.0.61259, which is one of the versions listed in the 'redist' folder, I believe. Neither program will connect. 17. Everything was removed after I did a clean install of P3D. ActiveSky would not connect after a re-install.
  18. I'm surprised no one has chimed in? I've done a repair install of windows,at this point. This is what I have found in the ActiveSky and Chaseplane Logs: Chaseplane log states "Attempting to connect to P3D's SimConnect P3D SimConnect not ready" ActiveSky log states "AS_P3Dv4_SimConnectionLog.txt 1:22:21 PM:0649-Pre Connect P3D_Connected = False 1:22:21 PM:0650-P3D Connect Pre Attempt: Instantiated = False / mConnected = False 1:22:21 PM:0761-Sim general message:Sim Msg: fsx_simconnect is NOTHING ... 1:22:24 PM:0138-Sim general message:Sim Msg: Failed to connect - Please ensure FS is running: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component. 1:22:24 PM:0139-P3D Connect Post Attempt: Instantiated = True / mConnected = False 1:22:24 PM:0139-P3D Connection Attempted 1:22:24 PM:0139-Post Connect P3D_Connected = False"
  19. I am running 4.5 with the hotfix and am having major issues. The first thing I noticed was that Active Sky would display the message "Waiting for Simulator". Next, Chaseplane stopped connecting to the sim. Now my SimSkunkWorks Harrier causes a CTD. I know two of the tree addons use simconnect... not sure where to start in terms of troubleshooting. FSUIPC is the other addon using simconnect and it does seem to work. Last, the program load time seems to have increased. And I am seeing more CTD while 'flying'. I performed repair installs on the client but that did not help. Update: I am not convinced my woes are largely due to Simconnect. I have discovered another addon that is not working; the FltPlan Go app. Upon launch I get the following error: "Failed to connect to FSX: Error HResult E_Fail has been returned from a call to a COM component. I have re-installed four of the six simconnect.msi files in the redist directory, but this did not resolve anything.
  20. I should not have posted here, I suppose. It ended up being Envtex. Even after uninstalling the software the add-on.xml file was still left in place... 2nd time that has bitten me.
  21. I think I’ll try the repair content installer...
  22. I'm not sure if this is a PTA problem per se, but everything looks all wonky as of this morning. I have been running Active Sky, ASCA, Envdir, and recently installed REX SkyForce. As soon as I pointed SkyForce to my PTA install I started experiencing the issue (see screenshot). When I use PTA to revert to the original P3D shaders, things look ok but no matter what preset I then load I end up with a mess. I did a repair install of the P3D client and then I did a system restore to before I installed SkyForce but upon reboot the problem persists. It looks to me like shaders on top of shaders but I can't figure out how to rectify...
