Hallo everyone. I have a question about the settings in bios (motherboard Asus Rampage IV Extreme) for a i7 3960. Previously I decide to overclock my old configuration with i7 975 and Rampage III Extreme with the good suggestion from IDAHOSURGE which help me with a perfect guide which I'm still using from 2011 and that could be found here http://forum.avsim.net/topic/327338-need-help-configuring-bios-for-i7-975/. Now I ask someone of you if there is anyone who can help me to overclock the i7 3960 on at least 4.4 or 4.5 ghz stable with Asus Rampage IV Extreme (mine will be the Black Ed.) Below I list the specifications of the components that I'm going to assemble: CPU: I7 3960 with hydro cooler Corsair H100i MOBO : Asus Rampage IV Black Edition x79 socket 2011 RAM: 4x4 16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR3 2133 MHz (PC3-17066)Timing: CL 8-10-10-27 (CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS) 1,65 Volt GRAPHIC: ASUS R9290X-DC2OC-4GD5 memory ddr5 4GB. CASE : Antec 1200 v3 POWER SUPPLY: ENERMAX PLATIMAX 1500 Watt 80 PLUS PLATINUM SSd1: Samsung Evo 840 120 Gb only for OS Win 7 ultimate SSd2: Samsung Evo 850 1 Tbyte only for FSX with scenery and aircraft addon SSd3: Velociraptor 600 Gb for some additional external program ex. Hey sir I have the same problem !!! Do you know what is happened? I have the last 2.5.2010.1027 vers. and after long time (since last december 2011) no longer have changed the REX texture in FSX. Now I find the issue that I dont see a change in the airport runway/taxiway/parking textures/clouds/sun and lighting. Thanks very much again for the excellent suggestions. In the afternoon and this morning I launched IntelBurnTest and prime95. The first program has passed the test with 5 cycles in high and standard mode. With Prime95 was open four hours this morning and temperatures remained around 77 degrees celsius. Now I will follow your valuable suggestions and first I'm adjusting the voltage as you told me, I'm too happy to have found the right configuration :(yeah!)

I have no words to thank Idahosurge. The setting you suggested and I am trying since last night is perfect and unique. I'm keeping the processor at a speed of 4 GHz and I hope that FSX will not freeze at any moment.The settings you suggested are PerfecT to flight with my system on FSX ! Now I'm flying at cruising speed to test how many hours do I keep open FSX until it crashes. FSX is around 200fps i never seen such a thing. If there are any negative developments will let you know, I send you a nice big hug from Italy. Grazie mille Ciao!

Now i'm trying with your settings. It seems almost all the settings in the advanced CPU Settings must be disabled?

We know that FSX swap to disk. For those who have so much ram to be used (8 g or more 12...!) worth trying to set the page file only with the ram memory.

I have tried using this Scenery, but I wonder if anyone else has experienced the following problem? This may be caused by Global 2008 I am using but, when I taxied off the runway, I suddenly dropped about two feet or more, and the taxiway was actually above my 737-800, but transparent. I taxied to my stand, and all buildings stairways etc where a few feet off the ground. Most strange. Anyone got any thoughts on this; I have never experienced such a problem before. Sorry there was a mistake.I mean that file is used to correct the layer and not to improve the frame rate! In your case you can try to put that file in the folder world/scenery/world. The frame problem is more difficult to solve and requires the help of an expert.

You have to put a .bgl file in World/scenery/world directory and that issue is solved. If you read the manual you will find the solution for that problem.

Unfortunately there is a big issue with this scenery under FSX with SP2. At dusk (dawn, sunrise and night) I report a very low frame rate 2.5. There is a problem with the lights on the runway. I know that other commercial scenery in FSX reported the same problem and the producers somehow solved it.At the moment this scenery is not usable under FSX with SP2. See the attached file.
