  1. Hi CoolIP, Do you mean to throttle back a bit? I normally do this but its hard to find the perfect balance where it neither slows down nor speeds up. This is when I ultimately get into trouble. The plane slooooowly speeds up and I am busy doing other things and do not notice the speed increase until its too late. Oh well, Bert's solution has helped alot. Thanks for the interest, Tom
  2. Hi Bert, I just tried out your suggestion. It works! Unfortunately, I still died from aircraft overstress because the plane 'crashed' within a second or two of the overspeed warning sounding. I did not have enough time to slow the plane down before it was destroyed. Do you know of any way to tweak the timing of the sound? If not, what I may do is turn off the aircraft stress setting, like you do, and use the overspeed warning sound, I now have, to alert me to slow down quickily. That way I will not fly along overstressing my aircraft and not even realizing it. Thanks much for your help :) Tom
  3. Hi Bert, Thanks for the offer to help! If no one else has a solution, I will probably take advantage of your offer. I did not know you could add something like this 'after the fact'. Just wondering, do aircraft in real life have audible overspeed warnings? Thanks again, Tom
  4. Hi All, I love to fly the P46T but for me, it is a 'widow maker'. I have died many times now while flying this aircraft due to the power of the engine, combined with not having an audible overspeed warning. What usually happens is that I become engrossed in working with my navigational devices in an EZCA zoomed view and fail to notice the I am slowly gaining speed. I will look up and see the airspeed indicator a moment to late and before I can slow down, BAM ... I am dead from aircraft stress due to overspeed. Many of my other aircraft have an audible overspeed warning system but unfortunately a couple of my favorites don't seem to have this feature (P46T and RealAir Turbine Duke). Am I missing something with these two planes? Is there some way to get a warning I can hear? I really don't want to turn off aircraft stress causes damage because I enjoy having as much realism as possible. Thanks for any help. Tom
  5. I also recently purchased Ideal Flight 10 and have been enjoying it immensely. It adds so much to the FSX experience and makes you feel like you are really owning and flying your aircraft. Some of the features which I think are very cool that may not been mentioned so far include ...1) Specific monitoring of various airplane systems with failures, or the increased probability of failures, as a result of not managing them correctly.2) Managing your various aircraft and the ability to leave them parked where you left them3) Ability to start your flight in a Cold and Dark state4) Extra AI traffic in the air and on the ground that seems to have very little effect on FPSI definately would recommend this add-on and particularly for GA flyers
  6. Hi Paul,I am sure it would be better with a faster CPU clock rate but I was just saying that running at 3.4GHZ does not mean that you will have stuttering. I am running FSX with ASE, GEX, REX2.0 with Clouds at 4096 and UTX2 with everything on but night lighting with fairly high settings (no add-on sceneries though) and I fly some of the more demanding aircraft (NGX, JS41, Flight1 Mustang etc) into the some of the busiest of the default airports (KSEA, KORD, KJFK etc) and FSX is very smooth and responsive with no stuttering. I figured I would try OCing when I started to run into problems but so far have not needed to do it. I have actually been suprised that up to this point I have not needed to OC. Bojotes tweaks have helped ALOT. I looked at your spec and it does look very nice!Tom
  7. I have TIR4 and its wonderful. Are you using EZCA already? The two work extremely well together after they have been setup correctly. (Hint: run both as 'administrator' or they may not play nicely together). I highly recommend using these two together for the ultimate VC experience.
  8. I am sure OCing is worth trying but I am running a 2600K at the default 3.4 GHZ and FSX is running very smoothly with no stutters. YMMV. Win7 64Bit2600K @3.4GHZGTX5808GB RAM @ 1333MHZ
  9. I have noticed this once before with FSX and it happened again, this afternoon, at KBOS. I was attempting an ILS approach into KBOS in the PMDG NGX, I think it was runway 4R, and the ILS beam was not aligned properly with the direction of the runway. This brought me an at an incorrect angle to the runway and I had to go around and land manually. Not a big deal because I was able to see the runway this time and correct but I thought "what if this had been an autoland and the visibility was near zero"? This could have been a disaster! I do not think this has anything to do with the NGX because I have seen this before in another aircraft and the runway on the NGXs nav display was lined up perfectly. It appears to be a problem with the ILS data for FSX. Has anyone else seen this before and is there any fix for the problem?Tom
  10. Interesting ... How will it run on my system? As smoothly as the 737NGX does?
  11. I have purchased the PMDG 737NGX and am enjoying it very much. I have a decent system which runs it pretty well under most conditions. I have been looking at the PMDG 747 and JS4100 planes for FSX and am considering buying one or the other also. For anyone that has both the 737NGX and either of these aircraft, I would like to know how they compare to each other.1) Are they as nicely detailed as the 737NGX (Flight model, instrumentation, cockpit detail and lighting etc)?2) Would they run as good or better (FPS, smoothness etc) than the 737NGX does?Any info would be appreciated. ThanksTom
  12. bluepilot76 ,I know exactly what you are talking about and I felt exactly the same way when I first started to play FSX with TIR. As stated in a previous post, the solution really is to buy EZCA from Flight1. This will solve your TIR issues and will give other great additional functionality like the ability to setup custom cameras anywhere you want them and cool dynamic camera movement while flying which enhances the feeling of really flying when in the VC. Its ability to quickly zoom in on sets of instruments and switches when you fly is indespensible I think. I don't think I would want to fly FSX without it now that I am used to it. It works great with TIR. One tip though, I had some problems getting it to play well with TIR until I figured out that I should run both TIR and EZCA 'as administrator'. Good luck!
  13. Ron and bkeske,Thanks for all the information. I appreciate you both taking the time to answer my questions. I understand now what the situation is with the timeline of these two great products that I am trying to get to work together. I was not aware of the timing issues and thought that the Sr22 was a recent release from ES. You see, while I have had every version of FS since it came out, I have been away from it for about 4 years and only recently purchased FSX because I did not have a computer previously that could handle running it OK. I have now redicovered my great passion for flight simming and have been spending my time and money building my hangar up. I recently bought the ES SR22 SE Turbo and really love the plane. It flies great, looks great and I love the cockpit and its lighting. I also bought the RXP 430W unit and have been trying to retrofit my aircraft with it. I have followed Bert advice and put the RXP VOR1 gauge into the SR22 and have been chasing down this last issue of the glide path capture to finish my retrofit. Anyway, I have rambled enough but I just wanted to thank you all for the help and assure Ron that I love his airplane and will continue to fly it with or without a patch for the RXP unit.
  14. Thanks for the info Bert ... Too bad, I really like this plane.
  15. I purchased this fine airplane a couple of weeks or so ago and have been trying to get the RXP GNS430W to work correctly with it. I have tried using the ES S55X autopilot with it but it seems to have problems entering APR mode. If I replace it with the RXP S55X unit, everything works but I need to use the ST360 with it and it doesn't integrate well with the rest of the cockpit. I have seen a few people say that the ES S55X should work with the RXP 430W correctly but in view of the problemsI am experiencing, I am wondering if there was a patch for this plane that I do not have that would correct the autopilot behavior. Sorry about posting this here but I have not had any luck getting access to the Eaglesoft support forum. I requested access about a week ago but have not been validated so that I can get into the forum. Thanks
  16. I am contemplating buying this aircraft but saw the recommended spec showed using a widescreen monitor. I currently have an older 22 CRT which uses a 4:3 aspect ratio with a 1600 x 1200 resolution. Can anyone tell me if this aircraft with display properly on my monitor? I have other payware aircraft, iFly 737 included which display fine on it.
  17. You can choose between trilinear filtering and and Anisotropic on the FSX graphics settings page. I also set the amount of Anisotropic to 4x in my graphics card control panel.
  18. Thanks for the info guys. I tinkered with both LOD_RADIUS and Anisotropic filtering last night and both have helped alot. I am very happy with the results. Thanks for all your tips!
  19. I asked a similar question yesterday and tried several things out last night with very good results :)1) I increased my LOD_RADIUS to 5.5 (based on Berts recommendation).2) I switched from trilinear filtering to Anisotropic filtering. Both of these steps helped and I find my out of cockpit views much better now.
  20. Thanks for the input everyone. I guess I will try it both ways since there seems to be multiple opinions on this issue.
  21. I have been working on setting up FSX on my computer for a couple of months now. I have added REX2, GEX and UTX and am using ASE as my weather engine. I am now tweaking FSX to make it look and perform as good as possible. At the moment I have HT turned off on my I7 2600K CPU. Is this the best configuration for FSX or does it run better with HT turned on?
  22. Is their a configuration setting that will extend the range of the 'clear' terrain around your plane and push the 'blurry' terrain farther out from your plane? I find that the roads in particular a a little hard to follow when flying low and slow as they go blurry to soon in my view and then blend in with the rest of the terrain.
  23. I have the Realair Turbine Duke, which is an awesome plane but the one problem I have is that I get no audible overspeed warning. I also don't get any sound warning when I reduce power fully with my gears up. All my other aircraft give an audible alarm when I have these conditions. Is it normal, on the Turbine Duke, to only have the caution lights indicate these situations and have no warning sounds? Is there a switch somewhere in the cockpit to turn on the sound for these situations? Thanks
  24. I don't have a traffic or ATC package but I have purchased ASE (Active Sky Evolution) which I am very happy with. Also, you may want to consider REX2 to give you great Sky, Water and Clouds. ASE and REX2 work very well together. REX2 has its own weather package but I think ASE provides the best weather.
  25. HI Michael,I am not sure about this plane, as I don't own it yet, but my RXP 430W is able to direct the autopilot both laterally and vertically on other aircraft that I have.
