Good FPS but scenery stuttering
Hi all, I am having a problem with stuttering. The best way to describe it is: when I am at a low altitude and look out the window the scenery will hesitate for a split second and then it resumes again. I would call it micro stuttering. This happens with the standard FSX scenery. I have not other scenery installed at the moment. However, I achieve a good performance with a good steady FPS of around 30 with the external framerate limiter in Nvidia Inspector. I have a good system, custom built for FSX (see my PC specs, with SSD’s), but the stuttering is there no matter what aircraft, weather, display settings, and config settings I try. I have the problem since I had an automatic Nvidia driver update. Before that driver update, FSX ran very smooth with no stutters at all. (also with the B737 NGX) I tried many things: I have put the original system image back, a complete fresh reinstall of Windows 7 and FSX was done, many Nvidia Inspector settings and many fsx.cfg tweaks were tried (with the Software & Hardware Guide available on this site). But the scenery stuttering is still there. The stuttering of the scenery that I see when I look out is very annoying. When I lock the frames internally at 30 FPS, FSX runs very smooth with the default Cessna, but with a complex aircraft like the B737 NGX the frames get low to like 22 FPS and FSX doesn’t run smooth. What can I do to solve this issue?

Apple computer with Parallels networked with a FSX PC
Can someone tell me how you set up a network with the PC and the Apple computer with Parallels? I have no idea how to do it. I have never set up a network before. I would like to network my Macbook (and Parallels and Aivlasoft EFB to be installed) with my FSX PC. Is it possible and/or practical? I know there are some tutorials online about setting up a network of PC’s, but I did not find something specific about a PC connected to an Apple with Parallels. If someone can tell my how to do it, or give me any pointers, that would be great!

IRIS Diamond DA 42 and DME
I recently purchased the IRIS Diamond DA 42. But somehow I can't find out how to show the DME distance. I don't see it in the G1000 nor anywhere else. How can I read the DME distance? I would like to do instrument approaches with this plane.

Major ProATC update 1.2
How does Pro ATC X cooperate with FS2Crew? I, as pilot flying give commands to the pilot monitoring (copilot) who answers with the FS2Crew voice. The radio communication is also done by the pilot monitoring, which is done by Pro ATC X. So there will be three different voices from the cockpit? (my own voice, and two pilot monitoring voices (FS2Crew and Pro ATC X)?) Is it like that? And if so, is it possible to arrange that Pro ATC X uses the same voice as FS2Crew? If Pro ATC X and FS2Crew use the same voice, it would be contributing to a realistic experience in an aircraft flown by two pilots.

60 or 120 Hz?
Hi guys, I’m about to purchase a 27”, 2 ms monitor for my flight simming activities (mainly 737 NGX). I might use TrackIR as well. I choose the 27” because the PFD has the most realistic size. I was wondering, most monitors are 60 Hz, but I also see some of 120 Hz (which are also a lot more expensive!); how important is that? And what do you most of you have for flight simulation? The 27” Samsung Syncmaster S27B370Hl looks OK to me now, I’d like to pay at most 250,- Euro for a monitor. Are there more things I might have overlooked? Thanks for your response.

Reaction speed monitor 5 ms or 2 ms, is it relevant?
Hi guys, I'm a sim pilot and also a real world pilot and I've been using MS Flight Simulator since 5.1a, but this is my first post in this magnificent AVSIM forum. I've been searching for an answer already, but I couldn't find it yet. I'm orienting myself on a bigger screen for FSX. Now I use a 13" laptop and with the Saitek Proflight Yoke between me and the laptop, the screen is quite small. Especially the PFD is very small when I want to practice an B737 NGX ILS approach on manual flight. So it's clear; I need a bigger monitor! I still need to decide between a 24" and a 27" but I also see differences in reaction speeds of monitors like 5 ms or 2 ms. Is that reaction speed actually relevant for FSX? And is the 27" worth the extra money over the 24"? And are there any more considerations for selecting a monitor? I'm also considering a better PC (i7 3770K), dedicated for FSX, with those beautiful scenery enhancement add-ons, and I'd like to purchase Track IR in the future. I'd like to have one monitor only; I think I prefer to invest the money in a fast PC. Your advice is very much appreciated!
