Hi Gerald, Thanks for the above, I went in and chacked the figures and they were actually already correct. I did a flight last night and it would seem that the F/O just ignores me when asking for 'gear down' - he doesn't say anything, and also after takeoff he raised the gear then lowered it again..So I'm presuming its something to do with the changed gear lever in the 747-8...?

Thanks, will do this next time I boot the sim up. Will keep testing to see if there are any other things that need setting up, so far the most annoying one is the packs switches (I keep having to re-do them for the F/o! 😉 )

Hi all, So when I'm descending I often use FLC mode to descend, and often by a certain point I'll need to level off and maintain a certain speed. If I try and input a speed on the MCP, nothing happens, but also if I press the speed hold button the AP seems to stay in the previous mode. It also seems to do this when in VNAV mode. To engage speed mode I first have to engage alt hold/VS then I can engage speed or thrust mode. What I'm asking is what is the correct way? How should I be doing this? Reason being I once disengaged the AP but left the AT on, I leveled off (maybe a little early) and instead of the AT either disengaging or applying more power, it kept itself in FLC mode and kept power at idle and I almost stall spun in! Advice greatly appreciated. James Walker

So did another test flight last night - only one other thing noticed so far: I just couldn't convince the F/O to lower the gear on approach, I had to do it myself (lazy git!) - I wonder if its because the gear lever is different in the -8, in that its only up/down rather than up/off/down.

Hi Gerald, Ok so I've finally gotten around to trying the 747-8f with MCE after a few weeks working in the -400f! On the whole most things work as before, there are a few parts of the flows/checks that are different, but largely it seems this can be gotten around by editing the flow in question etc.. You are quite right regarding the ECL - it doesn't seem to handle it at all so I suspect it'll need some functionality developing, also the eicas controls are different in the 747-8 (for instance the flight controls screen has been moved to it's own menu) Also the controls for the packs are no longer a rotary but are now a push button, so MCE doesn't seem to quite know what to do with them (from what i observed when it should have set them it pressed them twice. I'm sure there are a couple of other things that I haven't found yet, but those are the main items I've noticed so far - going to give it another go tomorrow evening so may have a little more to report. I'll be as specific as I can, but I use a VR for simming so it's difficult to make notes during flight. Many thanks and all the best, James

Thanks Gerald! Help much appreciated. Do you think the separate GPU plugs/APU generators will be implemented at some point? The reason being that when setting up and loading cargo, the cargo operations use plug 2 etc... so if its engaged the nose door for instance loses power! Cheers, James

Hi All, I'm trying to configure some operationally realistic flows for the 747-400f V3 from PMDG. I've done some small customisation but there are a few switch settings that I can't find the command for and was wondering if anyone might help? First, for the hydraulic on demand system, prior to start for the 400f 1 & for should be in aux, and 2 & 3 in auto. The flow has them all go to auto, is there a command for the aux position? I tried "hydraulic on demand pump one arm" but that actually puts it in the on position. Also for the power up flows, for both APU and Ground start, in the freighter you should connect gen 1 and leave gen 2 (or connection 2) for the cargo handlers - I can't see though how to accomplish this as one of the F/O's flows - anyone know what the command is? There may be a few more (took me ages to find the right command for putting the landing gear in neutral!) Also, what are the other triggers for the F/O to perform certain actions? I've seen him doing things when certain things happen but I can't actually find where to configure this, and see what is programmed to happen and when. Many thanks, James

Hi, Indeed I did, they sent me a 64-bit file to replace the wrong one. It works great now! I don't know if I can post it, as I'm not the owner of the file, perhaps its best to look on their support site and ask them for it? Now they've created it one would imagine they would just send it to whomever asks.

I've found the problem - the '64' bit gauge file CarSound_EMB550CALLx64.dll - should be a 64 bit file, but when I checked it it's actually a 32 bit file. This is the file that calls all those callouts.. Annoying, I've submitted to carenado and waiting for a fix..

Hi, I wonder if there is a way to use a similar process above to fix the barber pole in the Phenom 300? It doesn't appear to act as it should, I'm not seeing it reduce as altitude increases, and also it doesn't show the limits for when flaps/gear are down etc... Anyone an expert willing to lend a hand? I'm looking at the gauge xml files but getting quite lost.

I also have this issue, has there been a fix posted? I'm using P3d v4.3

Cees - I noted in your screenshots that you have the same problem I had - in that waypoint airport and navaid icons have no labels in the G1000. I found that the fix is to navigate to the p3d/fonts folder, select all the files within and right click and install. It may complain that some are already installed but I reinstalled for good measure. All working now and you can see your waypoint names along the route!

So, after a little searching, I found that this is a font issue. Install all the fonts in the %simulator%\fonts folder and it should work fine now.

Hey, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong with the G1000 or if its an error, but in the P3D version of the Embraer Phenom 300 with the Navigraph subscription, it seems that fixes, airway waypoints, airports etc on the G1000 map don't have labels. https://ibb.co/bRukfq https://ibb.co/nDGLDA Does anyone else have these problems? Additional problem - it looks like the G1000 isn't working properly either. None of the fixes or airports have labels in the display... I've checked the declutter settings and it doesn't appear to be that..

Hi All, I'm under the impression that there are some mods floating around that fix a few things with the 300 (like the avionic master issue) but I've not been able to find them. I'm not looking for any changes to the G1000 as I'm quite happy with it, but if there are some fixes that would be grand. Thanks, James
