  3. Seems im not the only one who think its a fun and interesting question. The reason i posted it was that i did not found it here - i assume someone already had asked
  4. I agree - as long as one can exit the plane the same way one entered, all is good. It would be cool if it was a story where someone had landed a real plane based on flightsimming
  5. Hi guys - First of all - i am aware that its a long path and many years of studies to be an airline pilot, so it has got nothing to do with that. Lets say you master a plane like for example the pmdg 737, or the 747-400 - well, anything from PMDG - would you be able to land a plane for real if the captain fainted or something?
  6. I use fsx. I have only used the simulators from Microsoft. I think that in the future it might be other options, based on the facts i read about it beeing outdated, kind off. I am sceptical to change, i like the menu interface in fsx alot

Some years ago i spent time with flight simming, and got the current version. This summer i started again, more focused on learning the systems, etc. and be able to operate it properly. The more stunned i got when i noticed PMDG is actually making a second version! I can hardly wait - i think this will be awesome :-) *whisper weather radar in sleep*
  8. Do you mean Microsoft Windows Security Essentials? Seem to already be on my computer. Well, the issue happenned again - after i reinstalled Norton//
  9. In other words - do you recommend it?
  10. I fixed it: I de-installed norton and shut down my internet - no minimize to desktop - i reinstalled norton and enabled internet - now it works fine What about you? Well, you can enjoy - it was Norton probably
  11. This might be legit: http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/204444-full-screen-games-minimizing-without-any-reason.html
  12. Hi Rich! Well, i also have Norton. Now i begin to suspect that the issue might be related to that. These programs seem to live their own life when it comes to updates. I am no computer expert - but it seem to be some kind of program or process who minimize FSX. I will try to remove Norton and launch FSX. I think its strange that it have gotten even more worse the latest days, cause i did no changes nor installed anything. Lets work this out together - i will try tomorrow and report my result Greetings from Gunnar
  13. Downscc: yes, it might be a more suitable category, i took a chance and placed it here. This happens only when fsx is running, yes. St. Paul MN Simmer: I will try this. Still, i hope that it is not related to the second monitor. This evening the problem got even more worse. I was not able to fly at all //
  14. Hello everyone - In FSX lately i have a issue that is quite boring. I googled, and found out this is an issue other people also have - still i was not able to fix it. I load the PMDG 747-400X after launching FSX. After a little while suddenly FSX minimizes to desktop without crashing. When i select the 747-400 i display the overhead panel on the second monitor - but after maximizing it i cant click any buttons or remove the panel. However, if i select another aircraft and go back to the 747 the issue is fixed - but suddenly it minimizes again. As mentioned in other posts regarding this issue, it seem to be a more or less hidden process who causes FSX to minimize - if i just knew which process it is the problem would probably solve. Any ideas to this?
  15. Hello everyone - In FlightSim Commander i have made a flightplan containing departure and arrival airport - i also added a custom waypoint. It seems that i am not able to export it as a file so i can enter it as a company route in the FMC of the 747-400X. I must ask; do i need to link FSC to FSX in some kind of way? Greetings from Gunnar
  16. Appearantly i checked the wrong option - now i works more like it is supposed to do. Still, i can only use half of the slider, from top to the center, but if i push it to the top the spiler lever on the plane always goes forward, and thats the most important. What do i do if i want to use the entire axis of the slider?
  17. Hi Glynn - i entered fsuipc and found the "axis assignment" for the slider. Im not sure how to proceed. I was able to move the spoiler handle (which i first called speedbrake) but not fully up and down. In the "control sent when range entered" i put -spoiler dec. In the opposite i put -spoiler inc- dont know if its correct
  18. Hello everyone - i purchased the HOTAS Warthog flightstick and throttle and i have an issue i can`t find a sollution to. On the mentioned throttle there is a slider to the right of the main throttle. I want to assign that to the speedbrake of the 747-400, so its movements correspond with the movement on the speedbrake lever in the 747-400. Is there a way to make this work? in the assignment settings i was not able to do this. Best regards from Gunnar
  19. OK, thanks - will check out
  20. Hello - On the PMDG site, under downloads, i see they have four type course lessons for the 747-400. The problem is that they seem to be for FS2004. Will they also work in FSX? Gunnar
  21. Thank you - I`m Gunnar from Norway. About a week ago i bought the PMDG 747-400 to my new computer (alongside with the VSR Superbug). I had the 747-400 on my previous computer, but back then i basically operated the 747-400 as the default Cessna - now i decided to dig deeper, and today was the first time i was able to run a succesful start-up with the help of a checklist. Quite exciting to hear the surround-speakers roar as the engines is powering up I don`t know what might be the right order to learn by, but i decided to learn more about naigation - so i think i will submit some newbie questions here within the next week. In any case i am glad to recieve some basic philosophies regarding the art of mastering the PMDG 747-400x Greetings from Gunnar -
