  1. It's just when you have something new, that's already broken, and you know there's very minimal chance for any fix, it kinda ruins the whole package. Maybe I shouldn't say 'the rest is all crap' but I will say the small errors easily eclipse the good aspects, for me at least.
  2. I would stay clear of Carenado - while they do produce beautiful textures, everything else is just crap. They continuously ignore identical errors they make on every new aircraft, they ignore customer suggestions and their Q&A has suggestions like this: "The lighting over the instruments are so bright that I cannot see the instruments" (A well known issue with nearly ALL Carenado planes: blinding VC lights) ...this was their response: "Make sure you have the latest drivers of your video card. Make sure you have Acceleration Pack installed or SP2 installed. You can get SP2 for free from this link: http://www.microsoft.com/Products/Games/FSInsider/downloads/Pages/default.aspx You can also try repairing Acceleration Pack or re installing SP2." Basically saying that it has nothing to do with their design. Oh, and under the issue of "Instruments being too dark" They suggest turning up the brightness on your monitor. C'mon
  3. " just like anything pretty with curves, it starts nagging at me" lol There are probably a few ways of turning these off. Usually in the aircraft.cfg you can easily find a section that has the warnings and are usually easy to turn off by putting the // (two forward slashes) in front of the lines in the cfg. Or, look in the sound folder for the sound files that are usually named with the warning it shouts, and change those file name endings to something other than ".wav". I think commonly ".bak" is a good ending to use when turning something off.
  4. FWIW, I get crap fps with this bird and only have a max load of 1024 with zero traffic running and just REX as far as major add-ons. However I do use it primarily in ORBX regions. I also utilize nvidia inspector but god only knows if I'm using it correctly.
  5. Yes, the ILS at Monterey is useless in fact. You're 400 feet agl over the numbers.
  6. I think the real problem is that the brakes don't apply progressively, it's all or none. With that said... the 'nose-dip' is probably accurate where as the ability to slightly depress the brakes is impossible, thus 'inaccurate', if you will. I'd love to know if there is a way to be able to apply brakes incrementally. Hell, even if it's just two options: 50% or 100%. Only other solution I could suggest (if this issue is something you're experiencing during taxing) is to download the groundhandling or pushback utility package found on various sites; with this you can select a taxi speed and the sim does all the throttle/braking actions.
  7. Is there gas in the tanks?
  8. Maybe you're missing the replies... It has nothing to do with hardware or drivers - it's fsx related and specifically with certain combinations of clouds (themes) that the sim is trying to draw. Just because someone's video doesn't replicate your problem just means that their particular 'enviroment' isn't creating this anomoly. Probably if you were to setup a flight with the exact same settings as that recorded flight, then you'd have the clouds in the correct place... Also, maybe nobody is complaining about 'this', but generally speaking, weather in FSX is a massive area of complaint. Hell.... Wind, something that you can't even see - is a complete disaster.
  9. Easily... and I just happen to have 'passed' it - I don't know what's more interesting though; the performace claim or the fact that he's still using FS2002
  10. I could see it now..... :(
  11. That was just a prerequisite. ;)
  12. Does anyone know the number of beta testers vs. number of applicants?
  13. I have this same problem although it happens seemingly by itself. Will a particular format make the alpha channel turn to an almost all black? I can save it as a light grey, the way I want it... and the next time I open it up in DXTbmp it's nearly solid black - very, very frustrating.
  14. Wait... ten bucks a month to have THOSE much higher frame rates? And everything is compatible? What's the downside? Cause it's not the ten bucks a month...
