Missing altimeter in R4D/C47/DC-3
Thanks for the suggestion, @bjh424! Can I please ask how does one replace one altimeter with one from another plane model? Are there instructions somewhere? I find it sad that MAAM-SIM didn't fix ths themselves.

Missing altimeter in R4D/C47/DC-3
I managed to get the R4D/C-47/DC-3 installed, only to find there's no altimeter in the Virtual Cockpit in any of the models. Any suggestions how to get the altimeter to display?

FSWidgets Gmap for Flight
So, I installed FSWidgets GMap for MS Flight.I started a free flight in the game, then switched to Windows Explorer, and started GMap. It showed me my position (it connected to Flight), and I clicked on "Stay on top".But when I switched back to Flight, GMap was hidden - it won't stay on top of the game window.Has anybody succeeded in getting GMap to show during a Flight? No fair if you have multiple monitors!

The gamertag thread! post your tags here.

How can we request features and fixes from Microsoft?
I would if this Forum let me edit my post. It was working earlier today, but now the "Edit" button is gone. Anyway, dear reader, the Microsoft Beta Forum is only accessible to folks who were beta testers in December through February.

How can we request features and fixes from Microsoft?
OK, thanks, Craig and Rob - I had deleted my link to that Discussion group at http://innovation.co...tBetaDiscussion. Yes, I still have access! Here is a thread where Feature Requests are being catalogued:http://innovation.connect.microsoft.com/FlightBetaDiscussion/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=2754

How can we request features and fixes from Microsoft?
I wish/hope there is some way MS Flight users can submit feature requests and bugs directly to the Microsoft Flight development team.Yes, there is an email address, but there seems to be no public forum or knowledge base for features and fixes, so we could see what's being considered or not. After my limited experience as a beta user (where we had a direct feedback database) and now with the initial release, I can say the top two missing features on my wish list are:1) Force feedback for my Microsoft Sidewinder FF2 joystick - surely the code already existsts add this missing bit of realism to Flight?2) Flight planning - another simple bit of code with a big payoff in added realism. It will be essential for flying around Alaska!Do some of you knowledgeable Forum members know if Microsoft has or will have a mechanism for gathering and displaying such feature requests?

Provide Feedback to the MS Flight site - Track IR users please!
I'd love to give them some feedback - especially on the need for force feedback! But I don't see the "blog" you are referring to. Where should we leave feedback?Of course there is the comment editor, where you can reply to each blog. Is that what you are referring to?

Performance Demands?
Like I said in the other thread:"I found an EVGA GTX-550ti on Amazon Canada for $147, ordered it at 9am Tuesday, it arrived 3pm Wednesday, and an hour later I was flying Aerofly FS at 60 fps!" I use the scenery enhancement utilities Ultimate Terrain X (Canada and USA) and also PNW from Orbx (FTX). They work well together. But AeroflyFS is a standalone simulator that drapes photorealistic scenery and textures over a detailed mesh. The end result is even more realistic, I would say, than FSX with the various scenery enhancements. You can see the coverage for yourself in the get-started manual:http://www.aeroflyfs...roflyFS_eng.pdfSee the coverage map on pages 9/10. It's all of Switzerland plus a bit of the bordering countries, Germany, France, Italy.

Performance Demands?
@Rich54:AeroflyFS is GPU-intensive.When I complained on the IPACS forum that my Nvidia 7950GT would not run the game, here is their reply:'' your card is missing two important extensions (texture arrays and RG textures) that are required by aerofly FS. These cannot be added by updating the drivers, they are real 'hardware features' ".They recommended a GTX550ti, so I did that, now I`m flying at 60fps.As for ATI, this is what they say:Back of package: ATI Radeon HD 4750 minimum AeroflyFS Web site: ATI Radeon HD 4850 or faster IPACS Forum: AMD Radeon HD 6770So, your HD 5770 card should be OK.

AFS requires OpenGL shader function
I found an EVGA GTX-550ti on Amazon Canada for $147, ordered it at 9am Tuesday, it arrived 3pm Wednesday, and an hour later I was flying Aerofly FS at 60 fps! They should really add a list of suitable graphics cards to the requirements page on the Aerofly FS website.

Quick Review
Another example of Ikarus's marketing confusion. When I asked Uwe Frank Heinrich, Ikarus's US agent:''Out of curiosity, why do you have to charge $28 for shipping to Montréal? Is the package coming from Florida, or is it actually being shipped from Germany?''He answered:''Because we ship Priority Mail International and INSURED. We had enough cases, where packages got “lost”.And actually, if you would look at the charges, then you would have found out, that we could not have chargedyou $28.00 plus $49.99 for the software. That would have been 76.49 after the 3% internet discount! Wecharged you only $63.44, which means the shipping charges were reduced to $14.95.''It took a couple of weeks, but Postes Canada eventually hand-delivered Aerofly FS to my door. With a German user manual :-(

Quick Review
@shamrock727:There is only one version of Aerofly FS:http://www.aeroflyfs.com/index.php/en/produkte-shop/shop-international.htmlIt`s $49, or 39 Euros. It`s easy to confuse Aerofly FS with Aerofly5 and other RC simulators from Ikarus.

AFS requires OpenGL shader function
Thanks for the suggestion, but I did that before trying to install AeroflyFS - I am at 295.73 on my 7950GT.An update, though. IPACS Support says:''The problem is not, that your 3D card doesn't support Shaders (your card does that just fine), but your card is missing to important extensions (texture arrays and RG textures) that are required by aerofly FS. These cannot be added by updating the drivers, they are real "hardware features".''I would like to know what newer Nvidia cards work well with AeroflyFS?

AFS requires OpenGL shader function
And that is not mentioned on the AeroflyFS website. Myself and at least one other experienced simmer (William Ortis, a.k.a. Lionheart) have purchased the sim, waited weeks for delivery, spent 2 hours installing it, only to be greeted with the message that our graphics card is out of date.My card is an Nvidia GForce 7950GT, vintage 2007, while Bill's is a Radeon 2600 XT, vintage 2010.The error message says there is a list of suitable graphics cards on the AeroflyFS website, but I have not been able to find it.My 7950GT runs FSX, Flight, Rise of Flight very well. So I feel cheated - if AeroflyFS had made it clear what the video card requirements are, I would never have purchased the sim.Do you have any suggestions for a suitable graphics card? My PC has an AMD FX62 dual-core CPU.
