Hardcore simmer not impressed.
You're a bit late to the party! All the cool kid 'hard core simmers' were hating on it nearly a month ago! :PI do kind of think that MS may have missed an opportunity to win over certain types of people by putting two planes with no instrumentation (or even flaps!) to speak of. If the RV has been packaged with the freebie version, I can't help thinking people might have judged it differently. As it is you're never going to convince someone who has puttered round in the Stearman and Icon that if they forked over some cash there is actually much more to Flight than it first appears.

I hate to say it but er...
I use an xbox 360 controller too (but use keyboard to trim, since the d-pad trims 5 degrees to the keyboards 1). I suppose it's to be expected, but it's far and away the best option I've found for Flight so far, although I almost feel guilty not using my Saitek X52 Flight Control System. It definitely isn't twitchy. As long as you're gentle with the controls, of course. I have all the DLC, and every plane handles great.

We are not alone out there people.
I think it defaults to 'Friends' mode, if memory serves. So if you've never changed it, then your own friends list could drop into your session, yes. If you set it to 'public', then absolutely anyone can drop in. Only 'private' prohibits anyone - in theory... although I set mine to private once when I was doing the photo shoot mission cuz it's a long one and someone already caused me to fail it near the end by dropping in and being annoying, and a friend was still able to join the session!

Unable to load aerocaches
I was just quoting what it says when you hover over the icon, which is the same on the map screen as it is on the Aerocache screen :)

Unable to load aerocaches
the little circle with the line through it to the right of the 'All Aerocaches' title in your screenshot means you're not connected to the Microsoft Flight servers.

Weight Problem
I like that there are missions that you shouldn't be accepting because of the weight - adds to the challenge. I like having to calculate my fuel before I go. If my invisible co-pilot wants to step out, thats fine by me, didn't want him there anyway (especially Mr Snarky who wants you to run everything by the book (have you heard his reaction if you skid on landing a clandestine cargo mission, btw?)).I presume we'll be getting bigger cargo plane(s) at some point, and then most of the missions should be 'doable' anyway, but I'm happy that they're there already and I definitely don't want them locked out. I think it adds to the game that there are posted jobs that you can't personally take. It shouldn't all be about you, or it feels too sterile and tailored. It does feel a bit odd when your copilot is telling you that you need to choose a bigger plane when it's currently impossible to do that. But then they all say some weird stuff anyway. Mr Snarky likes to chastise me for having too much fuel on board when we set off - and I ignore him - and then we get down to 6 or 7% and he'll chastise me for having not put enough fuel in and stating that we'll have to make an unscheduled fuel stop... almost immediately followed by the 'we're 5 miles out, run thru your pre-landing checklist' thing, since I always aim to finish a flight with about 5% fuel on board for eventualities. And then there's that darned woman who pees herself every time you take her sightseeing. Grr. I've lost count of the number of times she's urinated in my Stearman and *I* have lost points for it! 'I really need to stop for the bathroom in the next 2 minutes!'... 'uh, sure, if I can dump you in the sea to do it, lady! Have you LOOKED where we are?!'

Is Flight Development Moving Fast Enough for You?
I quite like the idea, but I don't think MS or most other people would go for it. 'Congratulations. You have earned the right to buy more DLC's! Get your wallet out!' :PThe Mustang would have been a great candidate for having to earn! Because most of the people that ever drop into my public sessions just seem to want to buzz around me like flies in their P51s. My guess is that most of them have barely tried the other planes and wouldn't have the staying power to earn the right to fly the P51 so they can be all 'look at meeeee! I'm faster n u!'.Alternatively, maybe I could earn a giant fly swat?

Is Flight Development Moving Fast Enough for You?
Heh. Given the game is 3 weeks old, and they've already announced Alaska in addition to the existing DLC's I think it's moving along just fine. Most other games just end after about a dozen or so hours of play through, and quite often have zero replayability. I've already put more hours into Flight than most other games I've spent similar amounts on, and haven't run out of things to do. Really, you can no more run out of things to do in Flight than you can in FSX. It's not like just because they've actually built in a whole bunch of specific tasks that you can't do anything outside of those tasks now! :)Personally, now I've done the lions share of tasks, I'm setting some for myself. In my 40 hours, I've gone from zipping around 'arcade style' in an outside view with all the aids on, to all aids off, and then to trying to just using cockpit instruments, trying to perfect ILS landings and finally getting to grips with VOR navigation etc. But then I was never a hard core flight simmer, so a lot of this stuff is still a novelty to me! :)Once I'd nailed the various landing challenges, I made my own challenges - yaknow... 'ok, now lets try doing that in driving rain with a 30 knot crosswind'One thing I think would be kind of cool to add a constantly changing additional layer of new tasks would be 'user added aerocaches'. They could be done in a similar way to Google Earths kmz 'bookmarks' (I guess with an additional altitude parameter), tagged or categorised and made available with filtering, so you can pick and choose ones you'd be interested in rather than being overwhelmed with thousands of 'em.

Moving Flight Installation to another Drive?
Hey,I moved flight successfully, but I did have to dig in the registry. Basically, just moving the directory works fine. It'll play fine. But if you want Games For Windows Live Marketplace to recognise it, which inevitably you will for future updates (although it doesnt matter for DLC, since that installs to a completely different place (although I'm not that keen on the idea of 600+ mb content packs sitting in my appdata directory personally)), you'll need to dig around in your registry. The easiest way is to do a search for the original install path, because its a pretty random directory name, seemingly. (mine was [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionGameUXGames{AC88CB43-0850-F134-CB04-8D38403E77B3}], if it helps (I dunno if that ID is Flight specific)). There you'll find a key with the full path. Just change it to the new drive, and it'll work directly from Marketplace.
