Hi everyone. Thanks for the input. I decided to go with the Logitech Pro Extreme from Amazon. I do have a RC simulator USB controller. I have ClearView RC flight simulator. I never thought of trying that. I'll give it a try and see if I can use that until the stick shows up. Mike

Hi Thanks for the advice... To answer Toms question I did install the software and I also went online and downloaded the latest software I could find for it. But I think it said in the instructions that It was supposed to open a prompt when you plugged it in prompting you to run the software, it never did that on any of the three computer I tried it on. And it never showed up in control panel. It appeared to me that the box had been opened before I got it, (no seal) and I'm guessing that someone returned it before I got it. I hate it when they do that!!! At least I didn't have to pay shipping to return it. I'll look through the recommendations and then order a new one. I have an old Flight-stick Pro that I've had for years but my computer doesn't even have a plug like that anymore. I've flown real planes with both a yoke and a stick, and I think the stick is more natural too. I also fly RC with two sticks both fixed wing and helicopters. Mike

Hi Not sure that this is the correct place to ask but I'm playing Flight using the mouse. I ordered a Thrustmaster T-Flight Stick X Flight Stick from Amazon. When it arrived it didn't work on my computer. I plugged it into 3 computers mine, running Windows 8, my wife's running Windows 7 and another computer running Windows 7 all 64 bit. It was detected i.e. "A device detected." but wouldn't show any place in control panel or in any game on all of the computers (no interface to adjust etc). I returned the it, now I'm looking for an option. I don't want to spend a lot of money but I'm will to go $50 or so. ​What would users recommend? Mike

Hi I was flying free flight in the PT 17 and I made an emergency landing in a field. The brakes being what they are I rolled off into the trees. Now the airplane is stuck with it's wing against a tree and it just won't move away from it. When I exit free flight and re-enter it puts me back in the same spot. How do I reset it so that I can start over. This happened yesterday and I've shut the game down and restarted a number of times and I'm still stuck. Thanks for the help. Mike

Hi Thanks for the input, I just found the Friends list thing and sent my friend a request. I thing that maybe that's the problem. Maybe we'll be able to get it going tomorrow. Mike

Hi I and a friend of mine have been trying to use the multiplayer function. If I send him an invite he gets a message saying that I'm inviting him. If he sends the message to me I get the invite... But then what? We don't see anything to click on to say yes we want to play. I can't find anyway to get his name to show in the users list under mine. We just don't know what to do next and there don't seem to be any instructions that I can find. We have tried setting it to "Just Friends", "Private" and "Public" but nothing seems to work. If I just click on "Join Session" I see a list of other people but not him. So what are we supposed to do? Mike

HiThanks for the info I finally get it.No free samples. LOLI wish they had let you fly it for a limited time or some thing like that say and hour to figure out if you really want to buy it or not.I think I'll buy Flight Simulator 10 and not spend a lot of money here.This is fun but zooming through hoops in a volcano isn't really very realistic. I do like the feel of the airplanes, I have flown in a Stearman and this feels a lot like it only quieter and without oil fumes in your face.I do wonder why the Icon doesn't have a compass?I didn't want to use the heads up display and found that a little odd seems like they should have a big digital one right in the middle of the panel.I think they should have a way of telling you the compass heading of the runways you are directed to.I.e land on runway 18, or have it above the little indicator they direct you to.It really helps to know which way the runway you are approaching is headed.Landing the Stearman on some of those runways with no forward visibility was scary, for that matter so way taxiing.Mike

Hi AgainSince I posted this I reinstalled the game as a new user with a new account.I downloaded the Maule from the web site to my new account, it now appears in my hanger but I can't use it.I don't have any idea where to go from here, it sits there in the hanger it shows I downloaded it, but when I double click on it nothing happens.Mike

I reinstalled it because I couldn't get it to download the Maule and wanted to start all over with a new ID and account.I directed it to install in my Windows 8 program files directory, which is on my D: drive and is where all my Windows 8 software is installed.I ran the game and it ran fine but when I looked later I found that all is did was create a Microsoft Games Folder with a Flight folder underneath it, it installed the game in my Users folder on drive C:.Weird!I downloaded the Maule through the online page to my new account and I now have the Maule show in my Hanger, but I still can't access it,I just sits there with the camera going around but I can't fly it, very frustrating.I think they could have done a lot to improve the way all of this works, I'm a real fan of flight sims but this is turning me off.Mike

Hi GuysDeburn, your situation is not really a lot different then mine.I didn't install the game in the default directory either.Because Windows 8 is installed in a pretty small partition I have a, Windows 8 program files directory, in another partition one the same drive.However when I open Market Place the only thing I see listed is the Hawaii Adventure pack.Thanks for the suggestions.Mike

HiI'm having problems activating or downloading the Maule?When I hit the Download Free Preview button it now say Re-downloading and the thing goes round and round for ever.If I click on the yellow button that says confirm download I get a message saying that Microsoft Games for Windows failed to connect.When I click on Trouble Shoot it takes me to a log in window and logs me into Market Place.I've been going round and round on this but the aircraft never becomes active though it has a little yellow area in the upper left corner like the ones that are active.The P51 doesn't have that.The airplane preview window goes around but it's empty.Anyone have any ideas.Mike

I flew for years in Michigan, and to the islands in the Great Lakes, there are a lot of runways like that! LOLHappily my landing record was much better then in Flight.
