  1. Hi guys, very happy owner of PrecipitFX and 737 immersion here,

I was wondering if it would be possible in the future to add an effect similar to what we see in the new Active Sky 2016; the in-cloud motion effect where you see the clouds coming into contact and being disturbed by the nose of the aircraft from the virtual cockpit.

The effect in Active Sky is not quite perfect and looks a little odd at times, but I love the idea. Would love you see you guys do it better!

Also would love to see a full immersion for the Flight1 B200 in the future.

    Cheers

    Gordon

  2. Hi! In my case, the first time i ran P3D after Vector 1.40 install, it took AGES to start. I didn´t killed the process and finally it started. The subsequent times worked ok.

Maybe if you run p3d and forget it, it will manage to start?

I ran into the same thing. It stuck on 70% loading for about 3 minutes then finally finished and all was well.

Same here, first load after v1.40 update took ages, since then as normal.

  3. If you are only going to use the screen for flight sim then don't get a monitor, get the largest curved 4K TV you can afford / fit on your desk.

For roughly the same cost of those 34" g-sync monitors you could get something like the SAMSUNG UE55JU7500, a large 4K screen will provide a far more immersive experience than the 21:9 ultrawide monitors; and flight sims gain nothing from g-sync anyway.

I'm talking as someone who has tried both, using P3D.

  4. Hi Gordon, they are in usb 2.0 they do there start up tests ok and i can get them working moderatly well at different points  my gf-46 seems to be having the most trouble rotarty and push button does not seem to be reconized

Are your Goflight units the older black modules or the newer grey ones.

I've also heard of folks having issues with rotaries on the older black unit.

  5. Make sure the panels all have good power; I use a powered USB hub that connects my Goflight gear to USB 2.0 socket on the motherboard.

I've heard that Saitek panels don't work properly when connected to USB 3.0 ports, what revision of USB port are you plugging the Goflight modules into?

  6. I'm hoping the new "Pascal" cards coming from Nvidia can handle 4K in single card configuration with acceptable performance; I've never been a huge fan of SLI, but it's been necessary to power 4K so far.

I'm running a Philips 40" 4K monitor on my Obutto cockpit. Simply couldn't go back to anything smaller or lower resolution after using large 4K for simming.

I'm holding out until Euro 2016 starts this summer to invest in a larger and probably curved 4K TV for my Obutto sim cockpit, there are usually good deals on TV's when there is a large football (soccer) tournament on.

  7. Upgrade your GPU to at least a GTX 970, turn Tessellation ON and crank your sliders back up.

P3Dv3 is a very different beast compared to FSX - it needs a strong GPU.

Also try running without an affinity mask, P3D v3 is far more capable of running over multiple cores with no tweaks.

  8. Gordon,

Did you happen to notice if the console was recognized in P3D settings before using FSUIPC for setup? I have a Cirrus yoke arriving tomorrow and held off ordering the console and TQ to confirm compatibility, no need for the turbo prop function at this time just the standard twin engine quadrant. Is FSUIPC required to get it functioning?

    Nice hardware!

Sorry Gary, I didn't actually try and assign the axes in P3D before I went straight into FSUIPC.

The throttle console does indeed show up in P3D as an available control device just like any other joystick/throttle; but I'm not 100% certain if the axes work via the default controller setup.

  9. Here is a quick video of the PFC throttle with the Q400.

The throttle quadrant was automatically recognized and installed by Windows 10, very easy to calibrate and test like any other normal game controller in Windows.

Axes and button are all assigned in FSUIPC and working perfectly.

The Q400 is a bit different as you have to tweak the detents in the Q400 control panel, but to be honest it only took about 15 minutes to get it all set up and working.

Haven't re-installed the RealAir duke yet as I just done a system reinstall for P3D v3.2/
